It's so beautiful when you walk in and the workers are so friendly. Once you get seated the menu is literally a book. Sooooo many yummy options!! We ordered the brownie burger and split it. This dessert spot is beautifully designed, very clean, and has a modern aesthetic that makes it a pleasant place to visit. The desserts themselves were excellent. The pistachio cookie was decadent, soft, moist, and full of flavor with a well-balanced sweetness that wasn't overpowering. We also tried an Oreo-inspired dessert that was rich, creamy, and equally delicious. The quality of the desserts is definitely what keeps us coming back. Unfortunately, the service has consistently fallen short of the quality of the food. The ordering system relies on scanning a QR code and ordering from your table, which is fine in theory, but there seems to be a strong push toward using that system rather than allowing guests to comfortably browse the physical menu first or engage with staff with questions on the menu. Also you can't order everything through the online service which defeats the purpose, our pistachio cookie we had to buy at the front. During a previous visit, one server had a very flat affect and took more than 15 minutes to prepare our order (things were premade so no prep involved) . We had to check in multiple times for an update, and there was no acknowledgment or apology for the delay. Normally a wait wouldn't be a major issue, but we were there with toddlers, and keeping young children patiently waiting for dessert can be challenging. Staff there did not seem efficient and they saw us waiting without letting us know if there was an issue. If they would have said the wait would be long (again things were premade so we did not anticipate a wait) then we would have gone for a short walk and returned instead of staying trying to keep our kids sitting for a while. In this same recent visit , a different staff member approached us while we were looking around and seemed noticeably unfriendly when asking if we needed assistance. We weren't sure what prompted the attitude, but it made the experience feel less welcoming. Overall, the desserts are genuinely delicious and worth trying. However, the service consistently takes away from the experience and affects the overall atmosphere. If you're primarily interested in the food, you may have a better experience ordering takeout or delivery. Great desserts, but the customer service leaves significant room for improvement. read more

The space is clean, modern, and has a really nice aesthetic, making it a great place to relax and enjoy dessert. They have a huge variety of options, so there's something for everyone. We dined in on a Saturday. The line was long but moved quickly. We ordered a lotus pan, a cookie milkshake and a brownie pouch. The lotus pan was a soft cookie topped with chocolate and lotus ice cream. It was outstanding. Definitely big enough to share. The milkshake was okay the straw was paper and was coming apart by the time we finished the milkshake and the straw wasn't wide enough for the cookie pieces to go through so we ended up using a spoon. The most delicious chocolate I have ever had right here at Chocolate Bar. 1st for some reason my friends and I were expecting a sit down restaurant which this is not. It's truly a dessert place where you can use the QR code to order or ( my preference) use the BIG. Book of desserts with pictures. We were so confused as to what to order but the manager ( didn't catch his name) was super friendly and made some suggestions. He even gave us some samples of the gelato's up front. I don't remember the names of what we ordered but they were the best desserts we've ever had. The chocolate they use here is Belgian and you can totally taste the difference. My favorite was the brownie filled crepe. They sell frappes, milkshakes, fruit drinks, as well as cappuccinos, espresso, lattes, cookies and gelatos. I believe they're open till 10 PM so this would be a great place to go for dessert after dinner. My only negative and I mentioned this to the manager as they do not have decaf coffee. I think adding decaf coffee at night especially to have with the desserts would be a real plus. While this place may be a little expensive for dessert it's totally worth it because the desserts are so large that you can really share one between a few people. I hadn't know the Chocolate Bar had opened but once we looked inside we new we had to get something for dessert. Once you walked in you notice this is an upscale dessert restaurant and they have all kinds of amazing sounding options. I will say this is a great spot of dessert after date night though I will say you will be taking leftovers home because some of what we saw come out was huge. Ashley and I had a large dinner so we knew we couldn't get something huge so we just got a Biscoff Cookies and this was amazing. It was a little over $5 and plenty for both of us. We finally tried it and we're so glad that we did! There were 4 of us so we ordered an assortment of desserts to share and our individual reviews were mixed but honestly you can't go wrong here. We started with the Lotus Lava then added the Cookies in a Pan, Lotus Milk Cake, Volcano Chocolate, San Sebastián Cheesecake and a Dark Hot Chocolate. My favorite by far was the Lotus Lava and if you're lucky enough to convince the head chef to make one for you it's absolutely worth it! It looks deceiving and isn't as sweet as you would imagine and the subtle cake buried at the bottom adds the perfect layer of depth! Staff were all wonderful as well! Really nice dessert/coffee/date venue. As soon as you walk in, you just inhale the aroma of fresh chocolate. Your eyes automatically go toward the 3 huge chocolate fountains they have and use for their Offerings. The place was busy yet workers were still friendly, fast and served a smile with our dessert. Ohhh my- I was seriously thrilled to finally try the Chocolate Bar! I went along the case and we were advised to sit at a table and scan the QR menu to order because not everything is available, but the online menu is accurate. The scrolling menu boards are mesmerizing- it's easy to just watch the delicious images! I saw the chocolate and fruit pizza and decided instantly. I did take the time to scroll through their extensive menu. There are almost too many options! Three friends- we each ordered completely different items. I got that pizza and shared. Racquel ordered a cookie with a couple scoops of ice cream and they drizzled chocolate all over it. Ci-Ci opted for a tres leches style milk cake. I inhaled a slice of pizza so fast and it was delicious and messy! Racquel loved the ice cream more than the cookie. Ci-ci loved her cake. We agreed we would have bought the tower to split- but it was not available. I can't wait to try the crepes. The place is also seriously stylish inside. IG worthy. It is on the pricier side and there is another newer chocolate place that I like slightly more than this spot- hence the 4 stars over 5. Chocolate bar is an EXPERIENCE. I came in thinking, oh yeah I just wanna come try this once, I'm not a big chocolate and desserts person. But the moment I opened the menu, I knew one visit wouldn't be enough. There are just so many things to try and they all look so good. I got an iced mocha and was originally wishing it was a bit sweeter. But once we started eating the sweets, I was so glad my drink wasn't that sweet to counteract all the desserts. My friend got the Turkish coffee and we weren't really fans of that. My best description of what it tasted to me was like if you tried to brew coffee with grounds that you already used before. So you're left with a really bitter watery coffee. I know there are people out there that like it, but unless you're serious about coffee like that, I would avoid it. We went to Chocolate Bar specifically for dessert and ended up having a much harder time choosing than expected. I ordered a chocolate mousse cake, and it was rich without being overly sweet, with a smooth texture that made it easy to finish the whole slice. Beautiful and modern and located right in the new and bustling Gate Parkway, this dessert spot is perfect for chocolate lovers. The owner himself came up to our table and spoke to us about how they came to open the only Chocolate Bar franchise in all of America and gave me and my friends four, yes FOUR, samples of their icecream! They were all superb and extremely flavorful. I got the kunafa pan this time, which was delicious but I was wishing it had more chocolate (insane of me to say I know lol) but my friends dishes were so chocolatey it's a good thing they have free water! We made a reservation to try it last night on a whim, and we really had a lovely time. Chocolate Bar is in a new shopping center on Gate Parkway, with cute little eateries and shops, and some green space as well! We were a little early to our reservation, but we got a seat immediately. We were given regular menus, but told that the QR code on the table was more up to date with what was actually available, and we could order via that. However, if we were more comfortable ordering from a person, there was a server for that as well. We ended up getting the kataifi basket and a Lotus waffle, while my husband also got a cinnamon white chocolate latte. Mine was essentially a skillet, filled with crisp kataifi, drizzled with belgian chocolate, and topped with the most delicious pistachio ice cream and more chocolate. The waffle was warm and soft, not to sweet and drizzled with chocolates and Lotus cookie crumbs. Decor and vibes were super cute. It was a huge menu, so slightly overwhelming, but I loved our choices. After having dinner at a nearby restaurant with friends, we noticed there was no line and decided to stop by for dessert & coffee. Once inside we were asked if we had a reservation and told them no. We noticed most of the tables were fullI and said we were going to place an order to go so they allowed us to go to the counter area. It was still a bit crowded but we managed to browse the menu and order. There was so many things I wanted to try & the pictures had me salivating. The restaurant is nicely decorated and the amazing desserts they brought to the other tables, matched the aura. I would say the only downfall during my visit is the small waiting area for to go orders and it was in front of the restrooms so there was a lot of traffic in that area but maybe it's because they were busy. I also expected my Mochaccino to be in a bigger cup than what they brought out because it was small. Other than that, I plan on coming back when they're less busy and can dine in. read more

We had a reservation and were seated right away. Guests flowed in constantly in the hour we were there. For the non-QR code ordering generation, they do offer physical menus as massive as a book! Today I decided to visit the Chocolate Bar during their soft launch. I have been seeing them all over Instagram and really wanted to try them before the crowd rolled in. We were required to make a reservation and I could see people out the door. The venue is quaint and is all things chocolate. The menu has drinks, cakes, teas, fruit cookies, crepes, shakes and the list goes on and on. Since it was a soft opening, not all things were available. I opted for a sweet mountain and a fruit bowl. The Sweet Mountain were a little eclairs- filled with cream, drizzled in white and milk chocolate. The fruit bowl was bananas, strawberries and pineapples drizzled in white milk chocolate. The staff was extremely nice and helpful and I like that you are required to use a QR code to get food. I honestly feel like they should've went with a larger establishment due to the traffic that this will bring. Overall, it was a great experience and I do feel that it is a great addition to Jacksonville. I will say that it is a tad bit pricey but I understand that you're paying for the experience and the attention to detail. All items ordered look like art. We will be back. read more

We were super excited to try this place for our daddy daughter date. There is plenty of parking in the lot and a reservation wasn't needed on a Saturday with only 3 tables in use. The menu is extensive with many desserts and some interesting crepe dishes. The crepe pasta had me very curious. The people seemed nice enough and the restaurant was clean and visually appealing. We got the chocolate fondant which was tasty, but maybe only a slight step ahead of your usual lava cake. On the negative side the one small cake and scoop of ice cream was $21! Also they make you order and pay using a QR code on the table. While this is good I guess in theory I hate that businesses are making this more common. We ordered and even though they weren't busy we waited for 20 minutes for them to plate the cake and put the scoop of ice cream on the plate. Because you don't have a waiter it made us question whether or not our order was received or if we were just sitting around waiting for nothing. It's also another restaurant that makes you preselect the tip. No one is taking your order or providing any service aside from dropping off your overpriced dessert so it's hard not to feel like you got fleeced. While there are some interesting things on the menu I wouldn't have minded coming back and trying, with the insane prices and automated forced tip "service" I'm not sure we will unless they run some type of deal. read more

I was really excited to try this place after hearing so much hype about the Chocolate Bar and that this is the only location in the U.S. We made reservations as instructed on their website and arrived on time. We were seated right away and placed our order. The desserts came out one by one. We started with the Brownie Burger, which was very good. The cream and fruit balanced it nicely and kept it from feeling too heavy. Next was the pistachio roll. Unfortunately, it was missing the crushed pistachios on top, and the crepe itself was a bit hard--likely from the ice cream causing everything to set. Lastly, we tried the chocolate volcano with added strawberries. The presentation was impressive, but the cake itself was very dense and slightly dry. I had to keep adding strawberries just to make it easier to eat. Adding whipped cream or more fruit on the plate would really help balance this dessert. Overall, I'm glad I tried it. It's not mind-blowing, but it's worth a visit if you're curious and want to say you've been there. read more

BEST COOKIE SKILLET I'VE HAD EVER. They are in the soft opening phase so they have a reservation system just so they can control the indoor seating a bit. When we walked in it was after having dinner next door at Nomu and wanted to check it out. The server told us we can sit at the bar style seating if we had no reservation if that was okay with us and we said that's fine, so glad there was the option. There is a table number and QR code for the menu to order. All the items had pictures which I appreciate alot. We ended up ordering a hot chocolate and cookie pan. I will say this spot is a splurge for us it is very pricey for dessert. However I will say the quality of dessert you get is AMAZING. I absolutely loved the cookie pan. The cookie dough was scrumptious, gooey, warm, decadent. I am salivating just writing this haha. Cookies are my favorite dessert, so yes this was just off the charts for me. Stopped into the chocolate bar just to have a look, after eating dinner nearby. It's a cool environment when you walk in - nice and open space with plenty of seating. When we got to the counter to look at the items and menu, the staff greeted us very enthusiastically. They asked us if we'd like to try their ice cream. They had several flavors. We tried a couple and they were yummy. We then saw the desserts in the display cabinet and could not resist, although it was not our intention to get anything. Everything looked so good! After seeing chocolate bar all over social media, I definitely had to try! I shared the caramel crêpe with my coworker. We both really enjoyed it. AMAZING! my gf and i went to the chocolate bar during their soft opening. we ordered the saffron cake, dubai chocolate knefa, and the chocolate crepe pasta. all of the items were very good and very well portioned. the service was incredibly fast! you order online WHILE you're in the restaurant and they bring it right to your table. I swear, as soon as we ordered, our food appeared. Even for the soft opening, they did very good. the place is cafe style like, not too much. We like the convenient location on Gate Parkway with ample free parking lot parking. Reservations are encouraged as we came last week and they were completely booked up. We made a reservation last week for a 5 PM booking today. I was in a party of three, and when we came to the restaurant, we saw there were three open tables. Our host initially told us to sit down at bar style seating facing a wall where we would not be facing each other. We asked to be seated on a table as we had a young child with us and was initially told that we could not as they were expecting other parties. We reminded the host that we made a reservation a week ago and we could visibly see open tables that could accommodate our party. She then offered for us to sit outside, but it was very cold. We insisted on getting a table and finally she gave in. We later realized she forgot to bring us silverware after we were seated noting she didn't for subsequent parties. Ordering was easy with the QR code on the table. It was recommended we use the QR code as not all the menu items were available. The dessert portions were large to share and taste was acceptable but not outstanding. I think this establishment is good for a date night once you make reservations in advance. The service staff may need more training. Dessert was decent so I encourage you to try it for the experience and then make up your own mind. read more
