Whenever there's a Mayday near wherever I'm eating my lunch or dinner it's the perfect excuse to get icecream for dessert. Love their mint monster, the dairy free options, and always always getting sprinkles. Cute booths and outdoor seating as well. On this last visit they ran out of spoons and we lost our staff member for a few minutes but then she came back. A little odd but will always come back, their ice cream is too good! read more

Friendly young people willing to offer free samples I like the flight six which are six scoops of your favorite choosing when I say six scoops there are mini scoops, but there were excellent. Also their waffle cookie that they put out it with homemade sprinkles and just so good the interior is small. There's four tables, but it is clean and very well rock nice Florida business local business people. read more

This place wins the award for funkiest ice cream flavors in Jax and that is a phenomenal thing! It just might be my new favorite ice cream spot in Jax because of the INNOVATIVE flavors. I had not just one but 4 flavors that I've never seen sold in a scoopery! Having a 6-flight option for less than $10 really makes MayDay special compared to the other ice cream shops around that limit you to 2 flavors in as many scoops for the same price. Can't wait to see what the summer flavors are! read more

Absolutely delicious!! The gentlemen working was super helpful with suggestions. The store is clean and welcoming! Definitely check it out!

After an evening at Jax beach enjoying the Deck the Chairs with family, my niece said she wanted ice cream. My sister looked up a few places and they decided on Mayday. We made our way over to the ice cream shop and went inside. This shop is kind of small with 4 tables. There were 7 of us so we did take up two tables. The shop was steadily busy but we were able to each try a few flavors before making our decisions. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. I opted for the Bourbon Pecan which was very good and you could definitely taste the bourbon and a caramel, sorry, can't remember the exact name. Both were very good. The ice cream has a high butter fat content so it was very creamy. Everyone in our party enjoyed their ice cream. read more

Visited here one night for some dessert. Clean location, friendly staff, great variety of flavors, etc. The girl that helped us was named Elizabeth and she was great - gave us some recommendations (when we asked), didn't pressure us into a decision, checked on us afterwards, was filling orders or cleaning up the whole time we were there. read more

This place is a must! Short walk from the beach! We walked in and the young man working (Easter Sunday) was so welcoming and knowledgeable about the ingredients! You could tell he really enjoyed his job! So, the customer service was absolutely outstanding! He was very patient when I asked to taste several different flavors! He told me what was in each! So helpful! That is how I ended up with the flight of 6 half scoops! It was outstanding! Any time we are in Jacksonville, we will be back! read more

The service is truly amazing! Unlimited samples for ice cream is unlike any other place and it is just such a fun space to be in!

Kaiden provided excellent customer service. We were impressed at how welcoming he was and the information he provided about the products and business. Kaiden's customer service is what prompted me to write this review. Coming from out of town, this was our first visit to a Mayday. We sampled several unique flavors and loved them all, but landed on the Key Lime Pie and Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie. We will certainly be back whenever we visit Florida! read more

K had the mint explosion ice cream. He said 2 scoops were too much but he liked the waffle cone and the mint, of course. I had the coffee and donuts ice cream and it just tasted like coffee, which I liked. I don't like waffle cones so I should stick to one scoop in a cup or maybe next time I will try the pretzel cone! read more

Such a fun ice cream place! Kid friendly with lots of unique flavors, samples, and a free waffle cone cookie topper. I had two of the summer flavors, blackberry earl grey and lavender melange and they were so good together. Erin and Julia were also so sweet and didn't shame me one bit about all my sampling. Oh my gosh, everything is so good! Nice sweet young gal was working by herself on a Saturday and she still let me try at least six flavors and spend about 15 minutes trying to decide what I was actually gonna get. It was hard because they were all so good. I love the sprinkles on the wall and it's just a happy atmosphere when you walk in this ice cream is absolutely amazing. Mayday Ice Cream was incredible. The ice cream itself was amazing, super flavorful, and honestly one of the best I have had in a long time. Libby greeted us the moment we walked in and she was so nice and cheerful that it instantly made the visit even better. Her energy set the tone for such a great experience. Those aren't the exact names of the ice creams but that's what they were. Great ice cream! This place has great ratings and I've known for a while now that I wanted to give it a go and it didn't disappoint! There was a large variety of unique flavors, each packed with an assortment of brownies, cookies, and other fillings! There was also a range of cones to choose from which is great, so will need to go back and try out some other varieties. It was a big price, 2 scoops in a cone was a bit over $10, but the presentation was nice, the staff was friendly, and the ice cream was delicious! read more

Best ice cream in Jax! Worth the 25min drive! Ok long time not submitting a review on Yelp, I know. But because I am a psychotherapist in private practice (my own business), Yelp corporate stripped my 13+ year Elite streak saying it's against their policy not to allow business owners to be elites 'due to conflict of interest policy'- what a psychotherapist in private practice has to do with a conflict of interest, I'll never know. So I've been protesting and moved to Google reviewing. Long intro, I know. But that's all to say that our experience at Mayday Ice Cream and Alanis's service was so spectacular that it made me break my Yelp nearly year-long silence to write this! Yes that's right- I had missed all the gourmet ice cream in LA since moving to Jax -- Cool Haus, Salt n Straw, Jeni's, van leeuwen... but then Mayday and Alanis came into our lives!!!!! Woooo hoooo! This place has diverse, unique gourmet flavors that surpass the best of the best ice cream stores! Things like Canada - a fall celebration of maple flavors... or like Caramel Apple Pie - real chunks of apple pie in it! And Queen's Salted Caramel- simple THE BEST caramel ice cream ever known to man! They had a bourbon pecan pie, a marshmallow flavor, a divine Blackberry Crisp w a buttery brown sugar oak crisp, coffee, Mint chocolate, and Banana pudding just to name a few of my favorites. Cool part? It was our first time. So Alanis was so helpful and patient with us. She allowed us to sample a bunch so we could buy a scoop and pick up some pints for home. I don't think I've ever spent this much money on ice cream in one stop because of our take home pints, but it's been worth every penny since our visit last week! It was also worth the 25minute drive each way! Great flavors! Great service! So good I broke my year-long Yelp-review silence! Love, love, love Mayday Ice Cream! We'll be back! read more

Extremely friendly employees! they were very kind and helpful. the ice cream itself is quite good. Cozy atmosphere.

This was my first visit to a Mayday ice cream shop. Overall, i'm just not a fan. I ordered a Wingman, which is a two scoop portion - this will set youback over $8. I didn't find the ice cream to be very creamy tasting. I tried their blueberry ice cream, which had a nice brightness to it. Unfortunately, their pistachio moon was not good; I took two bites and could not eat it. Not sure what was in the pistachio ice cream, but it was not enjoyable to me. Seating is very limited inside, this is more of a "get your ice cream and go place". read more

First time at the location. I've only had their ice cream when a friend picked it up from their original location across town. So yum! But this site was cute. Small, maybe 2 or 3 tables. But fun and bright looking. I did not know you could get a "single scoop" with TWO flavors! I went with the Denali Postcard (like rocky road) and Cookie Crush (oreos!), because yum! Bowl or cone? Uhhhh waffle cone, yes! And a cookie with it? Sure! And sprinkles? Yes, please. Did you know their sprinkles are made in-house? "Delicate yummy shreds of happiness." And don't forget to get a punch card for everytime you visit! Mayday! Mayday! Hahaha okay, too fun. And you can buy pints and popsicles?! Yes, we need to go back. Thanks! read more
