I had a disappointing experience at this location. I came in to buy a pint and asked if they could do two flavors in the same container, which one employee was about to do until another staff member stepped in and abruptly said company policy does not allow it. That makes no sense to me, because customers can order two scoops in a cup and choose two different flavors, but somehow a pint container can only have one. I've had this done at Mayday before, so the change and the way it was handled were frustrating. I ended up leaving without buying anything. There are several other premium ice cream shops nearby with friendlier staff, lower prices, more flexibility, better service, and better ice cream, so this experience makes it hard to justify coming back. read more

It was a PB ice cream with oreos mixed within. The PB was so prevalent and delicious and made the ice cream so creamy, plus the oreos within gave you a slight crunch and chocolate flavor which was bomb! The Aviator was a chocolate Nutella ice cream that was also super smooth and creamy with fat chunks of biscoff cookie!! The cookie crush was the best cookies in cream we've ever had! Great place. Called before coming to see if they made non dairy ice cream, and they do. I tried the different samples and ended up going with the dirty chai in a waffle cone. It was delicious. My daughter had the cookies and cream in a kids cup. I don't remember what my friend had. The girl helping us was very patient and kind about me sampling the dairy alternative ice cream. I tried all of them and settled on the dirty chai. I may try more in the future. They added sprinkles to my daughter's and a small little waffle cone piece in it as well. The man and woman working were SO nice and really made us feel welcome. We chatted with them for a while about the area since we are new to Jacksonville. They were so nice. I also tried the banana cream pie which was decadent and sweet. I decided to go with a scoop of the HUMBLE CRUMBLE (GF, DF) (a version of our classic Cookie Crush made with blended and crushed gluten-free Oreos). It came with a little waffle cone cookie on top. So cute! My boyfriend went with a single scoop of COFFEE + DONUTS (uplifting coffee ice cream made with coffee from 1565 Artisan Coffee & chopped pieces of glazed donuts). I loved how you could REALLY taste the coffee flavor. We sat on their back patio and enjoyed our treats. They gave us a punch card since we will be locals soon and we can't wait to go back! Mayday always hits the spot for me when I'm craving something sweet and cold. This shop is located at Brooklyn Station on Riverside, just nearby the Zoe's Kitchen and Burrito Gallery. There is indoor/outdoor seating and a large menu selection of ice cream flavors that include dairy free options. I find myself here more than other ice cream shops because of it's convenient location to my apartments. Tonight I splurged and got the Wingman which is "two scoops" but it was more like 6 medium sized scoops - I felt like it was a lot of ice cream!! Next time I might get the smaller portion. My choices were Key Lime Pie & Triple Vanilla. I would rate the Key Lime at an 8/10 and the Vanilla a 10/10. They were both awesome. Mayday also offers a flight of scoops where you can choose a bunch of different flavors if you're feeling indecisive. They will let you sample as much as you like, so try away before you make a decision on flavors. Hint: all delicious!!!! Their session chocolate remains my favorite flavor though. Must try. The staff is always very friendly and the location is nice and clean. There is a freezer with pre-scooped pints for you to take to-go also. If you need something to wet the whistle they also have a cooler with some apple juice, coke, water, etc. I definitely recommend Mayday especially this location to those that have never been before.
