For every family…read morecelebration, for every get together with larger groups of family friends, this was the default choice for us. Naturally, we kept coming back because the food has never disappointed us. Located in Marketplace Shrewsbury plaza, you will find no shortage of parking spots when arriving. Maybe I'm weird, but I also think it is very amusing that it shares the same plaza with Reliant Medical Group and just next to them is Hooters. Something-something there has to be some kind America and Freedom joke that can be made here. Upon entering, you will see a large corner pond and fountain filled with koi fish. Even to this day I still find myself getting a little lost listening to the running water and staring at the fish. Adjacent is the larger countertop bar area and the server whom will guide you to your seat. The service here is fine but I don't know what it is but I always feels like I am being rushed when I'm eating. The servers walk around too quickly and clean up your plate moments after you finish. Maybe it's weird to complain about lightning fast service. I think this is my first buffet review and I'm not sure how to go about this. I've eaten here countless times and I've never once had the opinion that any of the food felt old or spoiled. I grab basically one of everything and I always enjoy my overflowing plates of food. I am a fiend for the coconut shrimp and black bean sauce mussels. The crawfish are extremely flavorful and I always make sure to pack along a pair of gloves because I am a glutton. I think the only food item that disappoints me are the halved crabs. Almost every time I get them, it seems like the meat has no flavor at all. It kind of feels like a waste of food and $$ to serve them buffet style when they're so mediocre I really enjoy that they have two large sections dedicated to cold items like jello and cut fruits. It's perfect for me because I'm always the last person to continue eating the heavier stuff and I feel bad if I'm with a partner or friends and they can't eat another bite. There's always room for desserts! This place isn't perfect and there are other places I prefer when I'm in the mood to drive further and spend a little more... but this place is only $20.95 for dinner. That is an incredible deal for good food and it completely invalidates any complaints. 5 out 5 stars.

Unlike my favorite buffet down in CT they have beef teriyaki, love the different crab Rangoons. We were seated quick and our drinks came right out as we were grabbing our food. It's been…read moreprobably over 15 years I don't go to a GC but we had dropped off my dad's car to get an oil change, and it was going to be a while, so we walked over to the only place in the area that had breakfast which was GC. Having read the other reviews I have to agree that the place has a grimey feeling to it. A feeling like the entire restaurant needs to be pressure washed and the carpets ripped off and replaced. The workers were super friendly, but there was some definite disorganization amongst them. I was waiting a good 15 minutes before they could decide who was going to be at the omelette station. I laughed cause one of them picked up a broom and was like: "I did it yesterday, it's so and so's turn today." Then there's the quality of food which is basically bare minimum - the cheapest possible available and it shows in taste and appearance. At least... at least the coffee was decent which was a pleasant surprise, and the omelette was actually pretty good and that's pretty much all I would have from there. I wish there would be more fresh fruit. The cinnamon rolls - very obviously from a can. The gravy for biscuits obviously from a pouch that had water added, heated and served. You see what I mean? like its all quantity not quality. Which I guess you can't expect much more when its 13.99 per person. Maybe it's because it was morning, but we found the bathrooms to be clean which was a pleasant surprise. Overall, I view golden corral as a place you go to when there's no other option as it was in our case within walking distance. It's cheap in both price and quality. This is the epitome of the saying: "You get what you pay for."

Worst experience so far with my service dog…read more I was finally able to enjoy what I thought would be a nice dinner out with my family after a long time. My children had been asking to go to Golden Corral, so we decided to make it a family night. I made every effort to be respectful and responsible with my service dog. I kept my body between him and the food line at all times, and he remained approximately four feet away from the food. My wife held my plate, and I simply told her what I wanted while she went through the line. Then, unexpectedly, I was approached by not one, but two individuals who never identified themselves as employees. They were dressed in street clothes with nothing indicating that they worked there. One of them began speaking to me in a raised and confrontational manner, telling me to keep my dog away from the food. The other told me that I had to keep my service dog underneath the table. At the time, I had no idea that the first person was actually the manager. I only found that out afterward when my wife went back to speak with management about what had happened. When we first arrived, we had intentionally chosen a large table away from other customers so that we could be respectful of everyone around us. My dog was not wandering around, approaching people, or interfering with the food. I also made sure to keep myself between him and the food line. The way I was approached and spoken to was completely unnecessary and, quite honestly, very upsetting. Regardless of the person's position, I believe there was a much more professional and respectful way to address any concerns. Shortly afterward, another customer approached me. This person had witnessed the entire situation and told me that, in their opinion, I had done nothing wrong. They specifically pointed out that my service dog had not been attracting attention, had not approached the food, and had not interfered with anyone. They also suggested that I contact corporate because they felt the way I was treated was unprofessional. My wife then went back and spoke with the manager, explaining what had happened and pointing out that another customer had witnessed the entire interaction. That's when we learned that the person who had initially confronted me was, in fact, the manager. At that point, we were simply looking for a family dinner. Instead, what should have been an enjoyable evening became an incredibly stressful and embarrassing experience. I understand that restaurants have rules regarding animals and food-service areas. I also understand the importance of keeping a service dog under control and being respectful of other customers. That is exactly what I was doing. What I don't understand is why the situation was handled the way it was. If management had a concern about my service dog, I would have been happy to have a respectful conversation about it. Instead, I felt publicly confronted and humiliated despite making every effort to be responsible and considerate. I hope management and corporate take the time to look into what happened, because people who rely on service dogs should be able to enjoy a meal with their families without being made to feel unwelcome or embarrassed when they are doing their best to follow the rules.

There is also a very bountiful selection of desserts. Today I went with the maple bacon slices and garlic knots as appetizers and both were delicious. For my mains I picked the baked stuffed shrimp and the prime rib. The prime rib was excellent so I actually went back for seconds. I had a baked potato plus a small salad for sides. The maple bacon was very good and since it is kind of hard to find in restaurants I went ahead and got a couple of more slices of it to top off my dinner. Their dessert bar has so many different offerings that it wasn't easy to decide on what I wanted but I ended up picking a slice of carrot cake along with a brownie plus a dollop of whipped cream to add to the brownie. One of the things I like about their dessert bar is that the servers there give you the option of only getting a half slice of their cakes which is great because that way you're saving room to try even more of their options instead of getting too full from just one thing. It's really the best way to go and you will get to try more of their delicious desserts that way. They have plenty of options here for food and no one ever leaves hungry. We arrived almost an hour earlier than our scheduled reservation but they were nice enough to let us sit down and start dining right away. And we were all hungry when we got there so it was nice that they let us dig in early. We had Josh as a server and he was a pleasure to deal with. He is very attentive and helpful. He even gave my mother some good tips on cracking the lobsters and getting the meat out more easily which was very much appreciated. He was great as far as clearing plates, refilling beverages and making sure we were satisfied with our meals. A very good worker and a skilled waitperson. I stopped into the gift shop after the meal and they had a nice beer glass with their Nordic logo on it as a gift to me for dining with them during my birthday week. The outdoor grounds were nice to hang out and relax for a while before the drive back to Boston. They have benches and hammocks set up plus it was great to see the live animals such as horses and alpacas that they have on the property. They also had a music band playing outside for entertainment. Superb food and a great dining experience. I am already looking forward to our next visit!

The dining room is very attractive and nicely decorated, and the servers were polite, friendly, and attentive. Our drink orders were taken quickly, and the caipirinhas were both delicious. We made our first trip to the buffet and bar and there were so many choices! Hearts of palm, stuffed grape leaves, everything you could want for a salad bar, cheeses, hot sides, traditional Brazilian meat dishes, cheese rolls, fish, clam chowder and much, much more. While we were enjoying these items back at our table, we also turned our cards to green and strted experiencing the freshly sliced meats. Such a variety of beef cuts, lamb, chicken, sausage, and more. It was all super high quality, very tender, well seasoned, and I honestly don't know which were my favorites. Meat service was frequent - we were never without food and really never had to wait. They just kept coming and coming, and we kept trying more succulent meats. We finished our meal with the most delicious grilled pineapple and also the cheese with honey. Yum! Although there is a lovely dessert menu, we were too full to partake, and the pineapple and cheese hit the spot. The price for the unlimited buffet and meats is just under $50 per person, which at first seems a bit pricey, but when you look at all of the options and the quality of both the buffet and the meats, it is really a great deal! this is the third Brazilian restaurant I've been to, having been to one in Providence and one in Ogunquit, and Churrascaria Tropeiro's Grill is by far the best out of the three. I will definitely be back!
