We went there excited about all the positive reviews of having good Egyptian food while visiting Orlando. We were there around 11pm of a slightly rainy winter Fri night. Inside was not crowded. Got a nice table. The first thing that hit us was the extremely loud music. The belly dancer was finishing her segment, which was good, as we asked if possible to lower the music a bit, they did lower it but it was still uncomfortably high, at least for a restaurant. The hostess was very nice, and the food came in a timely fashion. The food looked good. The taste and quality differed from one plate to the other. The mosakka was average, the hawawshi was above average, the kofta plate was definitely below average as the kofta was dry. The koshari was above average, the tea pot was not good, was not that hot to begin with, and either the tea or the water they used did not give it the nice taste. We skipped dessert. If it was not for the loud music, I would have given 3 or 4 stars but it ruined our dinner. Sitting outside was not an option as people were smoking hookah. read more

Food was good, but that doesn't make up for the absolutely terrible service we experienced. We were only notified that we could only pay by cash once we had asked for the check. They said it was due to a WiFi outage and their credit card servers being down. Instead of notifying us before we ordered (when the WiFi went out), they waited till we ordered an abundance of food. My husband, son and I went to this restaurant since it was the only medeteranian restaurant at icon park and the reviews and pictures looked appealing. We were the first and only ones to arrive at this restaurant after they opened on a Thursday. We ordered the kofta kabab (15.99) wth rice, half chicken with rice (19.99) and the hookah (strawberry flavor) (24.99). For starters, they brought my hookah about a minute before bringing the food which was inconvenient since I like to enjoy my hookah prior to my food arriving and after I'm done with my meal with tea. I recieved my hookah about 20 minutes after we ordered our drinks which was odd since any hookah restaurant I've ever been to normally serves me the hookah within 5 minutes of me ordering my drink. It should not take 20 minutes to burn 2 small cubes of coal and the flavor should already be made. I have been smoking hookah for over 10 years and this restaurant is by far the worst hookah I have ever had. After about 8-10 puffs my head began spinning and the hookah became way too strong as if they added nicotine to the mixture. I let the waitress know and she told the Male who made the hookah. He came over and asks me if this was my first time smoking hookah and I told him no I have been smoking for 10 years. He did the same thing I did which was to blow in it and flip the coal like I have been doing for 10 years of my life and tells me try it now. I told him no I do not want anymore of it since my head is spinning and I dont feel good. He continued to insist I try it and I refused which agitated me even more. He then took it away from me and said ok no problem since I said didn't want it. The waitress returned telling me she will give me the check for the food only and not the hookah and she ended up charging me for the price of the hookah next to the kofta kabab on the check. These people not only hustled me but provided by far the worst service to trick the customer and decieve the customer by charging for the hookah and naming it under kofta kabab wth rice. They also served us undercooked rice and no pita bread which was the first time I dined at an upscale medeteranian restaurant and did not get complimentary pita bread. They also charged me $8.00 gratuity and have the audacity to still ask for a tip on the check. This place had no positive vibes from the customer service to the prices. I will never return to this restaurant and will not recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more
