This company is terrible. I hired them to do a siding project on my property. The communication from them was bad from the start. They also lied and told me that they did not subcontract their installers, which they did. Now they are demanding full pay after the following issues which I eventually had to fix myself due to non-existent communication from them for months. -Broke my stair railing (I paid out of pocket to repair) -Never touched up paint - Did not remove their waste (I took it to the dump) -Never reattached the power lines to my home -Reinstalled gutters incorrectly -Broke air conditioning unit (I paid out of pocket to repair) They don't finish the job or correct any issues. I asked him numerous time that, if the quote he was providing would include the cost of decking. He assured us that it would. 4 days after the install was complete, the company called me, to inform me that they used more OSB than they quoted me for, and that would be an additional $1820. They then proceeded to pressure me into payment over the phone because I said I would like think on how to pay the amount. When I communicated my issue to them regarding how to contract was presented they responded that their salesman circled the section of the contract. If I were to tell a client they had collision coverage numerous times, but circled on the contract they only had PLPD, I would still be misrepresenting the contract. Majic provided me with photos of the roof to try and back up their claim. I'm not a roofer, so I reached out to roofers I know to examine the photos. Majic is claiming they installed 28 OSB boards. The roofers I spoke to, say from the photos it looks like they only installed 11. So I communicated this to Majic, and said I'd be willing to pay for 9 boards, as the contract only covered 2. They never responded. I then received an email from the financing company for this project that an amount of 15,345 was approved, with the memo from the merchant that this was the final price plus the extra wood. This being exactly $1820 more than the agreed $13,525 on my contract. It's mind blowing that a company that claims to be upstanding would operate in such a dishonest manner. Don't use this company. I will tell you of my collective experience. It started in the summertime with a salesman that overpromised and under-delivered, bidding at a premium price. I was in dire need of siding repair, so I agreed to the deal quicker than I should have. That's my fault. They set their materials on our lawn for three months before they began their work, which damaged our grass and upset our neighbors. I have to say the workmen themselves were wonderful, hard-working guys. This review is in no reflection of them. I left an initial review of 3 stars on Google that reflected the excellence of the workers and the ineptitude, poor communication, and apathy of their office staff. I received a phone call from the Majic offices asking me to take down my review. I did so because I respected the siders and the work they put in. I would guess why their Google ratings are higher than they actually represent. They likely ask people to take down low reviews, which is a bush league tactic, at best. If I would have taken the time to view other platforms, I would have seen a more accurate representation of the company. I suggest you do so, if you're considering Majic. Despite the efforts of our wonderful installation crew, our dryer vent wasn't connected right, which I must say was repaired well by someone when reported, furthering this divide between the office and the those who perform the physical work. I had to put a shed back on its base myself, after it was removed to side the house. They left dangling cable wires, conduit, and a meter and I asked to have them fix it. Emails, phone calls, and no response for two weeks. I would rather have a negative answer than to be ignored. Let me reiterate this, being ignored as a customer is the cardinal sin this company commits. I'll repair those items myself, because I have no choice, but considering I paid half a year's salary to procure their services, I'm resentful I have to do so. All in all, it's been a very unpleasant experience with this company. As I write these words nine months after our initial contact, I am left with the words caveat emptor, let the buyer beware. I extend that thought to anyone else who uses Majic. If you are researching windows and siding companies, don't use Majic. I have used Wallside Windows in the past, and I'm kicking myself for not using them for my siding job. This time, I ask Majic to please do not contact me and ask me to remove this review. All I was hoping for was a job that was done honestly, ethically, and competently. If you would have done so, I would have been an advocate, telling others to use the company. I had two tub/shower enclosures installed 20 years ago. The tub started forming thermal cracks around the drain. Pulling my paperwork out, I see I have a tri-fold that states Lifetime Warranty with no small print or conditions on it. Calling Majic to inquire, I'm told "Lifetime" tubs in Michigan means 15 years. I was quoted a new system for a ridiculous amount of money ($9000, down from $12750 like that was a deal). Days later I get a call saying the owner has agreed to $3000 for a new system. Still a lot of money but less than it would cost to start over with a new company. Fast forward one month when the materials come in, my old tub/shower walls are demo'd and the next day, the installer tells me the wrong tub was ordered with the plumbing on the incorrect size. After a couple days of back and forth, I'm told the new tub has been ordered and my tentative install date is 6 weeks away. I have one standup shower in my primary bathroom and will have to share this with my guests and roommate. Not to mention my young nephew will not have a bathtub to use when he comes to stay. I asked for a discount on my remaining balance and got zero response. This is not a company I would recommend nor will I ever work with them again. They say its being expedited but 6 weeks for a standard size bathtub is unbelievable. All new materials should be verified before demo begins. They sent out a " tech" to analyze the issues Tara took pics and looked things over and left Matt called set a day that I thought would be to fix but no Brian another "tech " came out and looked over took more pics said he didn't get anything from Tara and he said Matt would be calling ! Omg how many techs do they need to figure out how to fix? Theses were installed in March it's now end of may I've been too patient with this company and want results! The canvass crew came though my neighborhood yesterday and asked me if I would be interested in a window quote. I made it clear that the probability of me buying windows in the next couple years was not high but I am interested to know the cost so I can plan for the near future. They said that was ok quotes are good for a year and made me an appointment for tonight. To be clear the canvasser told me the quote was good for 2 years but when the appointment was confirmed on the phone the crew leader corrected that to one year. The person who showed up tonight was Tayler who is the Director of Operations. I told him I was only looking for a quote and it would be at least a couple of years before I would be ready. It was a total surprise to him and the tone changed. At one point he asked me why I called him out if i am not ready within the next year. They offered me a free estimate. I didn't call him initially. I told him that the company I work for is being sold and I want to wait until my job stabilizes before I make a big purchase. Then he said "what if I offer you 2 years no interest". It was clear to me the pressure was ratcheting up. At one point I mentioned his competitor Walslide who I used before. He was quick to point out that Walside doesn't offer financing. After he left I went on the Walside website and they offer 50% off windows and 78 months no interest. I understand the quote was only good for a year and prices would change after that. It would be very easy to update a quote when you have all the window styles, colors and sizes. It was pretty clear he didn't want to waste his time unless I was ready to buy. Right now I am happy it didn't go further after reading other yelp reviews. Also, I will not deal with people when they are not honest about their competitors (Walside financing). If you have these guys come out to quote be ready for the pressure. If I could leave zero stars I would. When I called to request an appointment for windows they asked for my information. They said how many people in the house. I advised just me. Day of appointment someone called to confirm appointment, they were incredibly pushy about the appointment and asked again " if I'm single" and will my husband be joining. It was the creepiest tone anyone has ever asked such a question. I'm not sure what my singleness has to do with me buying windows. Marshall and his crew showed up at 10 am and worked diligently and steadily till 3 pm. taking out the old window and installing the new Fiberglas windows and doorwalls (2 doorwalls and 11 windows). They cleaned up everything and hauled out any refuse and the old windows. The whole crew was very polite and were careful going in and out of the house. We will see tonight how sound proof they will be with the expressway near by. We will also find out about efficiency for summer cooling and winter heating over the next several months. Marshall went through each window and doorwall for operation modes and also informed me about the ticket to send into the gas company for a small rebate. In brief, I am not proud to have Majic Windows on my house. They fell short of expectations. I received four quotes and went with Majic as they seemed to be a step above Wallside, and I wanted the fiberglass material. Majic resells windows from Inline, a Canadian company. These are solid fiberglass windows, but make no mistake: they are not a premium product. I am happy with the functionality of the windows (e.g., my house is no longer drafty), but the appearance leaves a lot to be desired, particularly on the exterior, and I am disappointed with the sales experience. The sales representative misrepresented the color to me--they told me, "Majic's commercial brown is identical to Andersen's terratone" verbatim. Commercial brown is entirely too dark, and does not match my existing trim and now requires painting. I received a paltry $350 for this inconvenience. The installer, in contrast, said they could match any Sherwin Williams color. This, by far, was the biggest disappointment. The installation was not perfect. Note the photos of the caulking job. These windows cost 5 figures, and the sales person made a big song and dance about how good the installers are, yet I could have done a better job on the caulking. There also remain a number of pieces of trim that are scratched. In brief, these are budget windows. I believe I overpaid about 30%. read more

Sexist company. Majic was in my neighborhood last year and tried to schedule a free quote. I accepted, but they called me and told me that they needed a man to be present with me for the quote and that "windows are a big decision". I'm the sole homeowner. I live with my boyfriend but I'm the only one on the mortgage. I told them I'm no longer interested due to these comments and to leave me alone. Months later, Majic called my phone and were rude and aggressive. They first called me out of the blue about replacing roofs and windows without mentioning their name. I was confused who it was and they made fun of me for it. The person on the phone said "So your house doesn't have roofs or windows?" Again, they were engaging in sexist behavior. I told them I'm not interested and went with another company (which I did!) Got another call today. They asked to speak with a man. I told them to leave me alone and never call me again. I wouldn't be surprised if they tried again, though. If they do, I'm blocking their number. I am glad I never moved forward with a quote. Please avoid this company and go for Wallside Windows instead. They at least respect women homeowners. read more

I scheduled an appointment making it clear I was the sole homeowner. Hi pressure Sales tactics. More focused on themselves than a prospective client. They spent 30 minutes telling me all the reasons I needed a woman with me to make a decision for my own house. I'm a degreed engineer. My girlfriend is a kindergarten teacher! She's a wonderful person, but not the right person to make a technical decision on the merits of one window versus another on a whole house full of doors and windows. Their Director of Operations Mr. Taylor Adams spent 30 minutes refusing to show me a window and telling me all his reasons why I needed my girlfriend to be there. Clearly inferring he was absolutely convinced I was not able, or capable of making my own decisions, and not worthy of his time unless my girlfriend was there. With such a bad attitude, and complete lack of respect for a homeowner from their Director of Operation, I can only imagine how difficult it would be dealing with the company to get a problem fixed. Mr. Adams is a poster child for bad sales tactics and how not to treat a potential customer. Please make your own decision, but i felt I wanted nothing to do with a company that has that kind of Management. There are lots of other window companies that will respect you and your time. Majic Window continues to underwhelm and disappoint. We had a full house of windows installed in July 2019, which went well for the most part. However, we had ordered grids/mullions in four (4) of our street-facing windows, and upon initial installation these windows had the incorrect grid pattern. This was just the beginning of our ridiculous odyssey. Since initial installation, Majic has returned SIX (6!!!) times to attempt to install glass with the correct grid pattern: 10/3/19, 10/13/19, 11/26/19, 1/4/20, 2/10/20, 3/13/20. Each time has been a robust failure; somehow their service technician continues to measure incorrectly or the manufacturer cannot read measurements properly or some combination of both. They have made excuse after excuse: they have a new manufacturer in Canada and we're not the only customers to which this is happening; the conversion rate from imperial to metric and back on the measurements is causing issues; measurements are being taken incorrectly; etc., etc. The issue is with matching the horizontal grids between the fixed glass pane and the sliding glass pane, which are different sizes. These have never matched up properly, and in most cases have been comically out of sync. Finally, on 3/13/20, it appeared that they provided a product that matched closely enough that I was willing to accept it just to be done with the interminable, arduous process. And then the glass cracked as the service technician was finalizing the installation! So now we await visit number SEVEN (7!!!). If that is all not crazy enough, for each of the six visits I've had to take the morning off of work to await the technician at home from 8 am - 12 pm. That's 24 unpaid work hours, which is a loss of around $200 each time ($1,200 in total to date). On at least two occasions, the technician didn't even arrive until after the window of time had expired by at least 15 minutes. And of course this meant that the work wasn't done until at least an HOUR after the expected service window, which just further screwed up my day. I've pleaded repeatedly with the service manager Matt (248.668.9090 x748) to offer some kind of refund, recompense, or remediation for our SIX (soon-to-be SEVEN) service visits for which I must take an unpaid half day or more off of work. To this day, Matt claims that he is attempting to procure some kind of relief from his manager, but to no avail. I'm still out SIX (soon-to-be SEVEN) four-hour unpaid periods of time, plus the pain and almost laughable stress of not having the proper grids in our street-facing windows going on NINE MONTHS since initial installation. I do not and will not ever recommend Majic Windows, as it appears their service department is sloppy, unresponsive, and uncaring to the ridiculous plight of their customers, even ones who have spent nearly $20,000 on windows. I will not be happy until they refund me the money they charged for the grids, plus at least half of the $1,200 I've lost having to take time off of work to deal with the service calls. And that's just the windows! We used them for siding as well. Garbage and nails all over driveway. 2-3 day job took almost 2weeks! read more

Harassment!!!!!!!!!!!! This company is honestly the worst company to every contact me. It started when they were casing my home I. August, I noticed the guy outside checking ouut my home and asked hiim what he was doing. He said he represented Magic Windows but had no uniform, business card, marked car or paperwork besides a yellow legal pad. I STUPIDLY told him we did need a patio door fixed but that I would contact him after speaking to my husband. A week later he calls and asked if he could come by and do an estimate on the door wall. I told him that we were going through a traumatic family event and that it was also my daughters birthday that week so it was not good for us. A few days later he called DURING MY DAUGHTERS BIRTHDAY PARTTY staying that he was around the corner and asked if he could stop by (as if we were good friends ) I again told him no and that because of the persuasive manner of their company that I would not be going with them. They honestly call me about once every two weeks "because they are in the area of Westland!" And ask if they can come by to look for any projects. Honestly such a horrible company. They will say we will call you on a specific day and they don't. Days later I have to call and text all the contacts I have to make the same request. This company is quick to take your money but worthless on their customer service and warranty. We installed our entire home with their products. 25 windows and 4 door walls. We are now in our third calendar year waiting on a door wall frame replacement due to cracking. They have sent out wrong colors twice and given every excuse imaginable. They are horrible to work with and gave excuses that are unbelievable like they don't know what comes on their own trucks from their own manufacturer! I had whole house Windows replacement over 8 years ago and every one of them have problems. They talked me into changing my up down opening windows into sliding Windows and if you can get them to open you have the hardest time closing them. They have cold air blowing through them and ice forming you have to scrape from Windows. It fits up. I hate these sos much. When someone come out you're charged and you're told the problems are natural and it's expanding and suppose to be like that. It fog up. If you open the up down Windows it goes off track and freezes the room. The definition of good Windows are false in my opinion due to the many problems I have. read more

I ordered from magic window in November 2022 and was told that the installation would be in 16 weeks. It is now going on 27 weeks and I never once received a phone call from them. Once they have your money, I guess it's up to the customer to follow up with them. I did reach out to them but was on hold for a while as there is only one scheduler, so I was told I would receive a call back. By the time I received a call back I was at work and could not take the call. Since then I have not received a call back from her. Very disappointed with customer service. This company will not honor their "lifetime warranty". They are using a "get out of jail free card" by stating I needed to transfer my warranty within 30 days of me purchasing the home from prior home owners. They are stating the previous owners or the realtor should have transferred the warranty which they most certainly know does not happen. They have created their escape clause in their warranty. BUYER BEWARE. I AM SURE THEY HAVE OTHER ESCAPE CLAUSES IN THEIR CONTRACT. read more

Summary: high pressure, expensive, and either dishonest or incompetent On 7-24-21 Kayley S., "management analyst" for Majic came to give an estimate. We made it clear that the roof had been done in 2009 by the previous owner, but one of our skylights in our sunroom was leaking very badly and the other 3 had leaked occasionally over the years. We thought worst case scenario, we might have to deal with the skylights and reroof just the sunroom, which has its own roof away from the rest of our roof. Kayley went out to inspect our roof without ever actually getting up on it. She came in with a close up photo that supposedly proved we had 3 layers on our roof, telling us that it's against code, too heavy, needs to be torn away and redone ASAP. Her "good for a year" estimate to redo the entire roof, NOT including the leaking skylights, was $43,056 (compare to $5,600 paid to another roofer in 2009) or $55,856 to include replacing the leaking skylights. Her "sign a contract today" price was $34,987 + $7680 for skylights. We told her she was our first estimate and we 100% never commit without at least 3 estimates. She went on and on about how any other company would give us subcontractors, asking "So you're ok with subcontractors doing your roof?" and "So you're ok with paying the higher amount if you don't sign today?" Guess what? We had 2 other roofing companies plus our Father-in-law come out and lo and behold, we have ONE layer on our roof (and neither of those companies use subcontractors). Everyone else said our roof still looks great, has at least another 10-15 years on it, and we just need to deal with the leaking skylights and surrounding shingles. I still can't fathom how she thought we'd believe that a house that was built in 1986 and last reroofed in 2009 would possibly have 3 layers on it. We had the contract from the 2009 roofing job right on the table in front of her where it clearly said tear down to boards and she still insisted it had 3 layers on it. So we're supposed to believe that the roof was done 3 times in 23 years? No wonder she wanted us to hurry and "sign on the dotted line". read more

All the negative reviews are true. Save your money and sanity by going with another roofing company. I had been living in the home for 10 years. The home is 15 years old and was approaching end-of-life for the roof. I had no leaks in the roof, but the shingles were ready for replacement. Majic came out quickly to replace the roof and finished in two days. That was the end of their customer care. The recent bout of sustained rain has revealed a leak in the roof over my attached and finished garage. After one week of me calling them, they finally sent someone out to look at the roof. They put some sealant on the roof -which didn't work - and said that they would contact me to arrange repairs. They said they would, "ensure the leaks were taken care of, then cover the cost of repairing the damaged drywall in the garage." They disappeared again. After a few more days of me calling them, they now tell me that the roof damage isn't from them, but that it was a problem with the construction of the house. Now I would be responsible to pay for repairs! The fact that this area did not leak before the roof replacement means nothing to them. They messed up something when they replaced the roof, and now they will not own up to it. Never in my life have I dealt with a company this poor at customer service. No call backs, not honoring the warranty, passing the buck on something they screwed up. In the meantime, the garage is getting worse and mold is setting in. Maybe I need to have a real contractor fix the mess and send Majic that bill. I may need to pursue legal measures to get something done here. EDIT: Shortly after posting this review, I got a call from Majic (actually from their subcontractor). They say they will come out and make the repairs "to keep the peace". I don't know if it had anything to do with this review, or if they were contacted by another party. They say they will be out in four days to make the repairs. If they do make the repairs, this review will be updated. EDIT (13OCT2021): No surprise, Majic never called me back. After a couple more calls from me, I was told they would call back that same day. They never did. Now, my phone calls are going straight to a voicemail box. This is without a doubt, the worst experience I have ever had in dealing with any business. I've been at this for nearly a month at this point. So, my roof is still leaking, and Majic does not care to back up their work. He had me change the style of my window only to find that it was not an option due to the structure of the house. This is something I thought he would've known since this is his job. So I waited 2 more months only to get the wrong sized windows. And here I am still waiting. I requested to speak with a manager and nobody has reached out. It is one issue after another with this company and I wish I would've paid a little extra to deal with a company that actually cares about their customers. And these windows weren't cheap either. They showed up right on time. They answered all of my questions and were quick. I am extremely happy with the work and the company. I would definitely recommend them to friends and family. read more
