All the negative reviews are true. Save your money and sanity by going with another roofing company. I had been living in the home for 10 years. The home is 15 years old and was approaching end-of-life for the roof. I had no leaks in the roof, but the shingles were ready for replacement. Majic came out quickly to replace the roof and finished in two days. That was the end of their customer care. The recent bout of sustained rain has revealed a leak in the roof over my attached and finished garage. After one week of me calling them, they finally sent someone out to look at the roof. They put some sealant on the roof -which didn't work - and said that they would contact me to arrange repairs. They said they would, "ensure the leaks were taken care of, then cover the cost of repairing the damaged drywall in the garage." They disappeared again. After a few more days of me calling them, they now tell me that the roof damage isn't from them, but that it was a problem with the construction of the house. Now I would be responsible to pay for repairs! The fact that this area did not leak before the roof replacement means nothing to them. They messed up something when they replaced the roof, and now they will not own up to it. Never in my life have I dealt with a company this poor at customer service. No call backs, not honoring the warranty, passing the buck on something they screwed up. In the meantime, the garage is getting worse and mold is setting in. Maybe I need to have a real contractor fix the mess and send Majic that bill. I may need to pursue legal measures to get something done here. EDIT: Shortly after posting this review, I got a call from Majic (actually from their subcontractor). They say they will come out and make the repairs "to keep the peace". I don't know if it had anything to do with this review, or if they were contacted by another party. They say they will be out in four days to make the repairs. If they do make the repairs, this review will be updated. EDIT (13OCT2021): No surprise, Majic never called me back. After a couple more calls from me, I was told they would call back that same day. They never did. Now, my phone calls are going straight to a voicemail box. This is without a doubt, the worst experience I have ever had in dealing with any business. I've been at this for nearly a month at this point. So, my roof is still leaking, and Majic does not care to back up their work. I don't care what sort of price they quote you for a new roof, RUN AWAY! read more

I ordered from magic window in November 2022 and was told that the installation would be in 16 weeks. It is now going on 27 weeks and I never once received a phone call from them. Once they have your money, I guess it's up to the customer to follow up with them. I did reach out to them but was on hold for a while as there is only one scheduler, so I was told I would receive a call back. By the time I received a call back I was at work and could not take the call. Since then I have not received a call back from her. Very disappointed with customer service. I sincerely regret that I didn't go with a different company. read more

This company will not honor their "lifetime warranty". They are using a "get out of jail free card" by stating I needed to transfer my warranty within 30 days of me purchasing the home from prior home owners. They are stating the previous owners or the realtor should have transferred the warranty which they most certainly know does not happen. They have created their escape clause in their warranty. BUYER BEWARE. I AM SURE THEY HAVE OTHER ESCAPE CLAUSES IN THEIR CONTRACT. read more

Majic Window installed insulation in my attic. The price was fair the quality of work far exceeded my expectations. The men that they sent were friendly and not in a hurry. They showed up right on time. They answered all of my questions and were quick. I am extremely happy with the work and the company. I would definitely recommend them to friends and family. read more

I recently had carpet installed in 2 rooms. Gary K. did a great job. He and his crew went above and beyond. From installation, cleanup, and moving the furniture. I wouldn't hesitate to use Majic Windows again! read more

We like the product- but everything else about this company is horrendous. We replaced 22 windows in our home, plus some repair work. The sales process is stupid, although they made an 'exception' in our case, and worked with my husband only. We were promised repair immediately, yet it took 3 months and repeated phone calls after they didn't show up for appt. When the windows arrived, install was arranged very quickly. Install was smooth, but, not completed and they damaged our furniture. Now, they ignore our calls about fixing the damage. Scheduled to complete the install, first guy showed up with wrong materials, second guy didn't show for appt. Had to call to get a third appt scheduled, but am expecting a no show. And.... no show for appt #3. We will definitely not be hiring this company again for anything. read more

Refused to give a quote unless I promised to give them 1 hour of my time. I already did the research and told him that I didn't want to waste his or my time. He said he HAD to give me a one hour presentation prior to measuring and providing price. I only wanted a quote for 14 basement daylight windows and a sliding door. I've been in sales for years and own a small business of my own. Never saw anyone throw a sale away like this. Just called Wallside Windows to see if it's a policy for window sales... it's not. Wallside was very respectful of my time and will be here Friday. read more

Absolutely horrible customer service! 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND! The sales rep Tayler was a complete sexist POS, ladies make sure your husband is home for him because apparently we are not capable of making decisions. He had me change the style of my window only to find that it was not an option due to the structure of the house. This is something I thought he would've known since this is his job. So I waited 2 more months only to get the wrong sized windows. And here I am still waiting. I requested to speak with a manager and nobody has reached out. It is one issue after another with this company and I wish I would've paid a little extra to deal with a company that actually cares about their customers. And these windows weren't cheap either. I would not recommended anybody use this company! Shame on them for the way they conduct business!!!!! read more

Absolutely horrible. Not a single thing they promised has been true. I called them for an estimate on one window where the seal was broken and Andrew came the same day. We live on a busy road and almost immediately he told us how fiberglass windows would improve that noise at least 50% but probably closer to 70%. After a few hours he was so convincing that we agreed to purchase 10 windows. We were told because of the location of the windows being along the same wall upstairs it was necessary to reduce the noise. He went on and on about how horrible vinyl windows were, I'm not going to lie he knows what to say to make the deal. To seal that deal he showed us videos of how good the before and after noise reduction was. I said it over and over that although the energy reduction was a bonus, it was the noise I needed handled. That was Dec 2021. He offered an immediate 50.00 credit to give a 5 star review and it had to be done in front of him. Andrew informed us that he would email us a price breakdown per window as soon as he got to the office. He was responsive via text messages or phone calls so we proceeded with the $15,900 for 10 windows. We were told the picture windows would save money as well as keep the noise out since there are no openings. He convinced us how amazing an awning window in the kitchen would be as it eliminated the bar in the middle of the window (We had a perfectly working side to side slider there already). Fast forward and the windows get installed, I stayed out of the way so the guys wouldn't feel distracted. Joe the installer asked me to go upstairs once the installation was done. I immediately asked "why the noise so loud" and Joe responded "oh really I thought it was a little bit better". I told him it was not and it was terrible. This is also the first time I learned that the nail holes, no caulking and damage to my walls were my responsibility! Never have I heard this before that I would need to hire a contractor to caulk, patch, paint and hide the nail holes after buying almost 16 grand worth of windows. We called Andrew the sales guy together and I told him how loud the noise was coming into the master, how many cracks, nicks and wall damage existed he said to make a list and he would take care of it. Joe the installer could see the despair and disappointment and got his caulk gun to do the master in the hopes that it would help drown out the noise. I paid him 100.00 because I was grateful, but it did nothing to stop the noise. We discovered that the wrong window was installed in the kitchen. We ordered an awning window and they installed a picture window which doesn't open. Andrew did finally respond that he would make sure everything was fixed. That's about the last time he responded at all. No response to calls, texts, emails or voicemails. I was supposed to receive a price breakdown per window so I knew how much I was paying per window and how much money I was going to hold back until the right window was installed but to this day I still don't have it. Andrew told me he emailed it as well as physically mailed it a minimum of 8 times but that too was a lie. I contacted Majics office and was told "we don't give that information to customers but I could divide the total amount by the 10 windows" I responded that I'm sure a picture window is cheaper than an awning or large window which opens. Majic sent out a technician to look at the windows and why there was so much noise pollution still coming in. At this point I have to wear ear plugs to sleep. The tech was nice enough and said he tried to add insulation but it's not doing anything so he wasn't going to do all of the windows And he left. I again kept trying to reach out to Andrew my sales guy with NO RESPONSE! It was March 3, 2022 and my kitchen window was being installed. My appointment time was 8-10am and after several calls to Majic Joe finally showed up At almost noon. He installed the kitchen awning window and when he went to show me how to open it he realized that the lever is directly behind the faucet and the only way to use it is by banging it against my 700.00 faucet!!!! I specifically asked him when he installed the wrong window where the mechanism was located on the correct window and I was told it was on the side and would not interfere with the faucet. I was upset but Joe said "just push and hold the faucet forward if you want to open the window". Finally Andrew calls and acts like nothing is wrong. I inform him that I have been texting and calling him for over two months to try to resolve the huge issues at hand and he informEd me he didn't get any messages And btw he has a new phone. Wth! Now Majic way of resolving so many issues including a window that doesn't open without damaging my faucet is to threaten me with a lien on my house. Run don't walk away from this company. I have never refused to pay as soon as I get what I was promised. read more

I purchased these windows over 10 yrs. ago. The product is good but the warranty service sucks. Its been close to a year to have my casement crank handle replaced again and one door wall replaced. I get the run around that; it might be in this shipment. NOT. I paid for this service in my bottom line. One year is long enough. Get the job done. read more

The common theme here seems to be pushy salespeople and an unresponsive customer service department. I made the appointment for my "free estimate, good for a year", and ended up with a salesman,(Greg), who wouldn't leave my house without committing to a new roof. That was on August 10th. Now it's October 20th and I haven't heard a single word from anyone. I've made numerous calls, leaving voicemails with the installation department, with Leticia, and on the main line, and it's been crickets. I even called the salesman's cell number and I got a recording saying that the number is unavailable. Sounds really fishy. Mort Crim should be more careful with the companies he endorses. My advice is to go with anyone else. read more

The salesman came out and refused to quote the house because my wife was unavailable, even though when I made the appointment I was the only one who was going to be available. I think it is great they want couples to decide on siding together but if I'm paying for a service, my wife and I should be able to choose how we want to get a quote (within reason of course). And having one member of the household present is not unreasonable. read more

Even from beginning the interaction with this company was sketchy. A sales person knocked on the door saying they were doing work in the neighborhood and wanted to see if I was planning on having things done soon... very similar to other reviews and stories. I'm the sole homeowner living with my boyfriend. - I'm actually glad I read the other reviews, because I thought they wouldn't do the estimate with just me because I'm a woman. That's the impression I got from my estimate confirmation call. Although I stated clearly I was the "decision maker" and sole owner they were less than friendly and insisted they come out at a different time when my boyfriend could be available as well. At that point I told them if they weren't comfortable meeting with just me to not bother scheduling anything. Even in the future I will look at every other company than them. Rude, unprofessional, and poor customer service. read more

Pushy salespeople who lie. My husband scheduled these guys several years ago and promptly lost his job. I called within the cancellation window and a sales person called me back to beg us to reconsider .he then denied ever speaking to us or getting my cancellation even though I had proof of the calls. It took us almost two years to get our roof and it was expensive. Avoid this company. read more

I explained several times over the phone that I would not have the money to pay right now but yall insisted that the guy was just going to give me a quote that would lock me in for a year. Love the price but with his attitude I may not choose you to do my insulation in the attic. read more

I ordered an entry door way back at the start of 2020. CCP virus jacked everything up, stopped everything. OK, understandable. Months later things got back on track somewhat but it was difficult getting answers about my door and progress. After numerous calls I discovered their supplier for doors went belly up. Maybe they should let their customers know that kind of stuff?? Just an idea. So after selecting another door it was a couple more months (Sept) til installation. This next part is kind of on me. I should have been more observant and asked questions about the different door and here's why; the replacement doors, storm door and entry door are not made of the same materials as my original ordered door. The quality is not what I originally ordered and paid for. I'm stuck paying for this substandard BS. The POS plastic handle latch for the storm door is already falling apart. The interior entry door is not constructed of the same material that I ordered. It's a wood core with metal exterior. I bought an entry door a few years ago from Majic and I'm very happy with it. The material construction is great. I thought I was buying another great door. I paid over $2500 for this pos. And I know both storm and entry door are worth less than $1000. And I had to finish caulking in the storm door. The CCP virus screwed up a lot of things. Apparently honesty and integrity died from it. Shame on you Majic. My recent phone call to their service dept regarding the latch to the storm door has gone unanswered. read more

This company asked me about 10 times about the man of the house. I am a single homeowner, but it didn't stop them from asking consistently. As annoyed as I was they knocked on my door and told me about missing shingles on my roof. My first impression is that they are sexist and very shady with their sales tactics. Beware! read more

I can't comment on the quality of the product or the professionalism of the installation crew because no one bothered to show up to the appointment today to give me a quote! Where do I even begin.... This company is THE WORST! We let them give us a quote and declined it right away because it was so high. For the next SIX YEARS they've repeatedly called me even though I have asked them to take me off of their list numerous times. During this most recent call the man was extremely rude! When I asked him to remove me from the list and said I don't live downstate but moved to Northern Michigan and stated that I've asked many times to be removed from the list, he said "a simple no thank you would do!" and hung up on me! I have never dealt with such a ridiculous company. I've tried to call and speak with a manager but no one ever returns my calls. If I could find a way to sue them for harassment, I would! It's that bad!!! Don't give them your number, you will regret it! read more

We hired Majic for a complete redo of siding and wanted James Hardie siding so this was the company that James Hardie recommended. The project went somewhat fine (though it took twice as long as they intended and was a month later then the rep said it would be). Less then six months after they completed it, the trim is falling down and bowing in places. Their 100% customer service line is complete BS as they won't call me back. Even though it is just the trim, it makes the whole job look like trash. So disappointed! read more

On July 12th I had two very pushy salesmen come out to give me a quote on a new roof. They said all costs were going up and that financing costs were going up. I made the mistake of signing a contract with them for a lot of money for a new roof. I gave them a deposit of 11,500.00. After talking with some friends and then reading all of the terrible reviews I cancelled the job on the 4th day. Be careful because you have only 3 days to cancel, which they never tell you about. I got a letter from their legal department saying that I still owe them over 26,000.00 and that I need to contact them about completing the job. If I did not contact them they would seek legal action against me. In the letter that I received, Josh left his direct phone number. I contacted my attorney and he has called 3 times over a 2 week period and no one has got back to him. They have done nothing for me and they want me to pay them. What does someone have to do, to get Josh Cork to call back my attorney? They are a terrible company! Buyer beware. read more

We purchased 2 door walls from Majic and a portion of the bottom track for the screen has obviously been cut away. Called them and they say it the manufacturer that does this. They also said for me to spray bug spray to keep bugs out! We use the door wall to come in & out of. Hopefully nobody hurts there feet coming in or out. And spraying bug spray is not an option. DO NOT BUY FROM MAJIC WINDOW!!!! Our windows are only 4 years old and I have a blown seal, warped interior wood veneer that I paid extra for, 2 leaking windows, UV damaged trim on 4 doorwalls and a cracked fiberglass frame. Majic Window's "lifetime gurantee" means that it will take a life time for them to act on it, if ever. When they finally get get arround to it, it's totally at their convience, there is no quality control - arriving with replacments that didn't match and cancelling the two follow up appointments because they didn't have the right material. 2 years and my windows still leak, 9 months and my seal is still broken and none of the problems are fixed. I am really disappointed that their rep would not talk to us/provide us with a quote unless both of us were there. I was home, but was working and do not have a flexible schedule. Contracted with them to replace all windows in my home on 11/06/20. Paid $6600.00 down payment. Windows were installed 02/12/21. Balance was paid in FULL. Building inspector came out 04/06/21. He red-tagged the window installation job. He took exception to the window panes falling short of full seal. They are NOT energy tight. Contacted Majic the next day. They sent out 2 representatives on 2 separate occasions. Both agreed with the building inspectors findings. They were of the opinion that the upper sashes were built too short, and needed to be replaced. A date of 07/20/21 was given for new "uppers" to be installed. On July 20, 2021, a Majic representative showed up by herself, with no replacement "uppers". When I inquired where the new "uppers" were, she responded that management wanted to try "one more thing". She attempted to fit foam shims on the bottom of the lower panes, which did not remedy the situation. In the follow-up telephone conversation with Matt, (the head of installation for Majic) following the 07/20/21 visit, I was told replacement "uppers" would be in by mid-September. Mid-September is past, and now the excuse is there are parts on backorder. Majic Window has been given several opportunities to correct this issue. Each time they have failed to honor the commitments they've made. This response is unacceptable. I did not receive the competent window remodeling job that I paid for and must now consider how to fix the problem of their making. read more

Don't waste your time unless you want to also waste your money. Mike (a field supervisor) came out to give me an estimate for windows. He trashed Pella, and said he could still buy them as they also sell those vs the Canadian fiberglass ones he was pushing. He said list price for these Canadian ones were about 25k (for 21 windows + doorwall) and then said he could do 14k as he was walking out. Bob (head of sales) called to follow up and also came out a couple weeks later to say he could give me the best deal as he didn't work on commission like the field sales team does. He came out, gave me this whole speech for over an hour and said his best price is 21k and he's not sure not Mike said he could a) get that price because it's not possible and b) couldn't even get Pella because they don't sell Pella. Long story short, wasted two weekend mornings with these guys telling me wildly contradictory things... and they think I'd be stupid enough to trust them with a purchase this large, no thank you. Tried to leave zero stars but it wouldn't let me. Majic window had people going through our sub looking for business. They came to us to see if they could get some business. Seeing as how we are buying the condo we are currently renting and have a closing date in place, we said sure we could use a quote on exterior doors, bathtub redo, and flooring for the second level and stairs. Our condo is under 1000 sq ft. Apparently it's not a big enough job for them is the way we were left feeling. Zach Glod pulled up in his Cadillac, he didn't bring anything in with him, walked through our home and said, well, call us once you finalize. We asked him, can you show us any of your work? He seemed put off that he had to go get his iPad and show us pictures, as he flipped through his pictures that we barely could get a glimpse of, he said, well, we can look more once we come back. We thought we could get even just an estimate of what we were looking at. Nope. We were just told we'll give you a discount for your time when we come back. First of all, how do we know we're getting a discount if you won't even quote us right now. Any questions my husband had for him, Zach would direct his answers to me. Wouldn't even look at my husband. He left with these words, "well, you weren't that far out of my way anyways" REALLY??? You're 4 miles away from us. Well, that's exactly what they did. I realize in today's times that things are short staffed and hard to come by. However, it's now October and they have yet to finish the job. They were paid in full, as well. If you want quality work done in a timely fashion....this is not the company for you. We were approached by Matthew Ashline (Chief marketing officer) and given a quote to remove our old shingles and install new ones. Matthew Ashline told us that the benefit of signing for a new roof with him was that he would "be in our back pocket" and he would make sure everything went smoothly for us. I didn't imagine that meant Matthew Ashline would mislead us about their financing, lie about throwing in gutters that were "sitting behind the wharehouse," and ignore my phone calls and texts when I asked for updates. Although he did call me back when I called from a different number. We were told Majic Window offered $0 down and 0% financing for 60 months. This is what personally sold me to get it done now rather than later. When Gary came for me to sign for their financing it was a 9% loan. I called Matthew Ashline and he apologized about the misunderstanding and informed me that I would have to pay $1500 up front to get the $0 down 0% financing loan. He said because we mentioned paying the loan down quickly he thought the 9% was the better option for us and that "most of the interest is paid on the back end of the loan." That's not how loans work, but now I can add that to the list of Matthew Ashline's lies. On July 6th the crew came to replace the roof, but they stepped through a couple boards in our ceiling. This didn't upset me at all I work in construction and I know things like this happen so nothing against the crew. Although if Majic Window is sending their crews out they need to have someone who is bilingual on the job so when hiccups come along you can communicate with the customer. They attempted to fix it the day of and weren't even close to matching the stain or the existing boards. So with a hole in my ceiling covered by used tarps in the middle of storm season we were getting wet eating dinner. The next day july 14th they sent someone out to cover the hole with ice guard and for the next 7 weeks with a hole in our ceiling we stayed dry. Dave told me on July 21st that they expected the boards to "be in by the beginning of next week." So when nobody came, and neither Dave nor Matthew Ashline responded to texts calls and voice-mails, I tried calling the office. Faith said they were meeting about it that day and would call me back soon. No call back. About a week later I tried calling the office again and Faith again said someone would get right back to me. Tried two hours later calling the office twice with no answer. Tried two times again two hours later leaving voicemails no answer no return call. 4 weeks after July 21st my wife calls the office from her phone and reminds them we still have their money, coincidentally Majic window starts contacting us again. 4 weeks with a hole in the ceiling and no contact from Faith, Dave, or Matthew Ashline. The Gutters Matthew Ashline promised weren't part of the contract and that's my mistake for expecting a company to treat a customer well. Now we're expected to pay in full with ceiling boards that don't match and the empty promises in hand. Hope this story helps you make a well informed decision about working with this company. UPDATE: After leaving this review Brian McKeown contacted me and I explained all the frustrations we encountered with their company. He worked with us and we came to an agreement on how to deal with matching the ceiling boards. It's a shame it took a poor review to finally get someone's attention but I do appreciate Brian's effort in the end. This was a 1 star review now it's 2. I can't bring myself to give 3 stars because we were in the dark for so long and for the treatment we received from Matthew Ashline. read more

We received an estimate on 4/25/23, and signed with Majic. We knew the windows would not be installed until July. We gave them a deposit of $3,000, paying the rest in cash upon job completion. We were to have someone come and measure precisely. We weren't available for that phone call. I've called him three times, with no call back; one time I couldn't even leave a message because his mailbox was full! My husband reached out to our salesman, who is no longer with the company, and he was told to contact Andrew. He did, I think twice, with promises of a call back from him, and from the guy who's supposed to measure. We don't even have the windows, and, at this point, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND Majic Windows. If it were within the three-day cancellation period, we would certainly cancel, get our $3,000 back and go with someone else. Angry doesn't even cover it. How the BBB rated them A+ is certainly a mystery to me! The only good experience we've had so far is with the original salesman, Michael, who's no longer with the company. I'm not surprised. I probably should have given them a one-star rating; a two-star is pushing it. read more

First of all we decided to get an estimate from them on windows which was a huge mistake! I kindly asked the guy to leave my house several times and he kept trying to talk me into buying windows by "calling his manager" to get me a better deal. I kept telling him I wasn't interested. Over 2 hours and this guy would not leave my house! I finally texted a family member to call me and claim I had a family emergency so I could get him to leave. This was a few years back and obviously I got new windows with another company now to this day they are still calling and hounding me about making home improvements, I've asked them about 5 times to take me off the calling list and do not call! Please do not go with this company, they are absolutely horrible! read more
