Sydney has a cafe, and it's a 24 hour cafe. First off, hell yeah! You gotta love this place, it can be what ever you want it to be. Whether you're there for the coffee - which is great, or if you're a hot dog guy/gal, the food is great, but my favourite is there selection of cakes! It's just a perfect, modern cafe with all the mod-coms, huge air con in Summer, and WiFi available, a sly little upstairs area which is largely unknown and great to escape the crowds downstairs for a snack. I wish there were more 24 hour cafe's in Sydney. Sometimes it's 2am and I feel like a coffee, or midnight and I feel like a delicious heart clogging double chocolate cake with cream and fudge. Nothing beats their lLemon meringue pie though.

Despite the fact it's located on the busy Military Road Maisys is hard to spot unless you are looking for it. The reason you'd bother looking for this wee cafe is if you're in need of a caffeine fix at an odd hour of the day or night - mum's with babies up all night, 5am start personal trainers and party animals off to work this is your place to get your caffeine fix. A rare find is a Cafe that's open 24/7 and happens to make delicious coffee. My sister told me about Maisys good coffee and I have to agree with her. The coffee beans are Vittoria but it's the barista that contributes half the taste and this one makes one smooth Soya Mocha. If you're looking for a quiet place to enjoy a coffee midweek this is a good place - that is if you can tolerate the Channel V music channel playing on the TV behind the bar. The breakfast and lunch menu is your run of the mill Cafe complete with smoothies and teas. A standard latte will cost you $3.80. Not so run of the mill is the décor - the entire Cafe is silver and mirrored. Maisy's are licensed with a modest selection of red, white, sparkling wines and beers. $2.50 corkage. WiFi available. Air conditioned.

This was a revelation to me too. Sydney has an around-the-clock café/restaurant in the North. What do they say, you learn a new thing every day. North-ites, we're not New York City yet, but I bet within a few years we could rise to the occasion. If we really wanted to emulate, we'll have to get to work looking for some live rats and let them loose to decorate the place. But I digress. Maisy's main draw is the 24-hour thing. The food is the usual café food, albeit with more variety and options, and the fit-out is a little on the standard side as well. I looked up from my coffee a few times to check out the new music video clips being shown on the big TV above and the staff also provide a bit of entertainment but if you're choosing between an Opera House show or Maisy's Café the choice is an easy one (so easy that I'm not even going to spell it out for you). There is nothing that is overly special here but there is nothing that is in bad taste either.

Thus I turned up Tiny Sweetie. I'm partial to Chinese dessert soups, so I was looking forward to our visit to this rather tiny shop. We lucked out as a table emptied shortly after our arrival just a bit after 9pm. My DC had done his own research and found out that Tiny Sweetie was known for their homemade glutinous rice balls. These would be made to order and so would take 20 minutes, but we decided that the wait would be okay since we would be sharing. We started with the Black Rice, Red Bean, with Taro & Coconut Milk $5.50 and the Steamed Egg Custard $4.50, as they worked on the Peanut Glutinous Rice Balls (6) in Ginger Soup $5. The dessert soup was nice, though the black rice a bit scant. The steamed egg was warming but lacking in smoothness, perhaps due to a bit of overcooking. Their rice balls were tasty and worth the wait. 3.5 stars.

Definitely called my mom that night :) Prices are incredibly cheap and the quality is pretty good but slightly on the watered-down side. I've tried the red bean cooler (a mountain of ice with red beans and evaporated milk) and almond tea with lotus seeds, both which were good. Super small space that fits roughly 20 inside and 6 outside. You'll find a range of customers, from the lone guy who needs a quick dessert break, to small groups who wanna grab dessert after an outing.

This wonderful fairytale has a happy outcome because like Cinderella this beautiful princess has prevailed and shown her true beauty to the World. My Sweet Boutique ( MSB ) is one of Sydney's hottest food trucks and it specialises in waffles. They open to the public Wednesday - Sunday and serve across from the Enmore Park. The Food Truck is beautifully decorated by lots of nice food isms and the whole truck screams Instagram so you better be prepared to # and snap to your hearts content and that's before and of the glorious food is even served. The Waffles come in 6 variations of flavours some of which include the 2204 and Enmore Road. The flavours favour from the flavouring sauces and fruit and nut content. The option is for it to come in a slider ($6) slab ($9) or in a mason jar ($12). Of course everyone wants the jar because it's more fun. The jar I got was 2204 which offered a combination of ice cream, smashed waffles, banana, popcorn and salted Caramel. The presentation is absolutely amazing here and it's almost a crime to eat out of something that looks that good but just try and resist. The jar comes with the option of a lid too which is cute if you want to keep the jar and try DIY job on it later. Also on offer here is the famous Nutella names Jars. So basically you get a personalised jar stacked with waffles and cream on the top and inside gorgeous Nutella and ice cream on the inside. It's an absolute must for anyone that wants to show off to their friends. The staff are extremely friendly and happy to assist you with recommendations on the best selections. My Sweet Boutique is a gorgeous food truck that is definitely a piece of gold that Marrickville is happy to keep for themselves because these place would go off anywhere because my friends this place is an absolute diamond.

They know how to put up a show. Lines were long and it was worth it. We get out order in and the guys are nice, friendly, with a huge smile and huge beards (just like me). They sing and dance and and bake our favorite middle eastern desert "knafeh". Now the food....I've never had Jerusalem style Knafeh, I've had of course the Armenian style called (ghadayef) also the Egyptian style which is called (basboosa) and the Jordanian and Lebanese style. I know some may say they're different but in many ways (to me) the idea is the same. This type of knafeh I had was a very good knafeh, for a food truck baking it fast, but it wasn't the best. Still we went back the next day, we got some more and their tea that they prepare omg is so good. Go for the dance, the atmosphere, the fun times, and also the knafeh. It's really good. Can't wait to come back to Sydney and Experience them again. May be they should come to Phoenix. #TheBeardedArmenian

It was packed with people waiting in line, eating and simply there enjoying the music and entertainment. These long bearded men know how to throw a party. The music was loud, all the workers were dancing as well as the crowd that was around. This place attracted people from all ages with different diversities and backgrounds. It was something very different from what I've ever experienced, especially when there's only 3 things on the menu! 1 that's actually edible - their knafeh. The knafeh ...where do I begin. That sweeeet sweet cheese dessert!! It was almost like a more textured, creamier but lighter version of a creme brulee. It's a little sugar heavy so I would recommend sharing it with another person unless you have a major sweet tooth then you'll easily demolish this. It was simple and delicious - and to only have that on the menu they are definitely doing something right. If you haven't tried it - definitely go before they move to a different location! It's $8 you will not regret.

The average price seemed to be $28 for a dessert smaller than the size of my palm. After eating dinner somewhere else, my friend and I stopped at Koi for dessert. We go there only 30 min before close, so there weren't a lot of desserts left. We tried two of them - a pandan cake and a mango dessert. They were both beautiful looking, but don't recall being blown away by the taste. And it was very expensive. I thought to myself that it was not what I hoped. But I'll give the benefit of the doubt that maybe at the end of the night all they have the less popular desserts left. Next time I'm there, I'll give it another shot.
