I chose Dr Rahman based on all the great reviews, but I'm sorry to say that those great reviews have not been my experience.
I have CLL it's a form of Leukemia. My first bad experience came after discovering her scribes were not only answering her email but during an office visit, I noticed that Dr Rahman didn't have a clue what the scribe and I were even talking about. So, I made the comment, and I quote "You don't know what we are talking about do you" she replied no and apologized. I was upset to say the least and stated that I didn't want scribes managing my medical concerns especially since I have Leukemia. I don't have the luxury of mistakes. She apologized again. I should have got a different doctor then, but I didn't and proceeded to give her another chance.
And now, I recently (12/11/22) got COVID and I have Leukemia mind you.
I was feeling seriously ill. Uncontrollable coughing, it was horrible enough to make me throw-up, fever, severe headache etc... Enough that I wrote Dr Rahman an email describing my symptoms and giving her a heads-up in case things went real south. I told her I had to take some old cough syrup I had a prescription for with codeine that was 2 years out of expiration to control the cough and if she could prescribe some new stuff for me.
Her response, call and make an appointment. Are you kidding me? This is a medical Dr that knows I have leukemia and now have COVID. I called and made the appointment and had to have a phone conversation with a resident Dr because she couldn't give me 5 min of her time. The resident Dr called and told me he'd give me the cough syrup and told me to take Sudafed and Mucinex. I went to get the cough syrup because I'm coughing a lung up. Instead of the cough syrup it was a little clear caplet that takes 15 top 20 minutes to take effect. They didn't work and I continued to take the expired syrup because it was controlling the cough. (The prescribing Dr was Dr Rahman not the resident who talked to me) I sent another email to DR Rahman telling her I'm getting worse, and I didn't get the syrup. She said she would talk to the resident Dr. Seriously!
I ended up in the Loma Linda Emergency Room. A PA prescribed me Paxlovid, Codeine cough syrup and an antihistamine plus took an X-Ray to make sure I didn't have Pneumonia.
Dr Rahman is not the 5-star Dr that I thought she was. What professional caring Dr tells you to make an appointment instead of providing care under those circumstances. In my opinion She is an embarrassment to the medical professionals that care. She got her all-mighty dollar and kicked me to the curb. Hasn't even followed up to see how I'm doing, one of her staff did.
I will be reporting her to Rancho Medical HR and whoever you report this type of behavior to. She should be stripped of the title as Doctor if she is not going to perform as one.
If you know someone you care about under Dr Rahmans care, you should monitor their care closely. read more
