Service: Friendly and explained the menu and ordering process well. Food: Holy crap. I am so mad I didn't come here sooner. The food is phenomenal. I can't wait to come back and try more menu items. We ordered the pork egg rolls (super crispy outside, not greasy, and the filling was really flavorful and well balanced), crab rangoons (super crispy wonton, filling was packed with flavor), and the fresh spring rolls, hands down these have to be my favorite spring rolls around, the only thing I'd change is putting crushed peanuts in the dipping sauce for them. They do such a great job balancing the ingredients on their dishes. I'm so excited to come back and try more items off the menu!

I follow their page on Facebook, which they update daily with the specials they are offering that day, so I saw they were offering vegan yellow curry. I was really looking forward to trying it. When we ordered, they told me that they ran out of rice so the curry wasn't available. I was really disappointed at that point and almost decided not to order anything at all. In the end, my boyfriend and I both ended up ordering the banhnini, a bahn mi panini. Both of our sandwiches came with chips as part of the meal. The bahnini was overall was very tasty. It had a nice mix of fresh pickled veggies and fresh cilantro on it, which helped cut through heavy meat and cheese on the sandwich. The only thing I didn't like about the sandwich was how spicy it was due to the slices of jalapeños (with seeds!) that were added to the sandwich. It's important to note that I am a bit sensitive to spice so I had to pull the slices of pepper off to make the sandwich edible. My boyfriend, however, enjoys spicy food and found the peppers to be a nice addition. The sandwich also had a good sauce on it that added good flavor as well. Our food came out within 10 mins of ordering and was hot. There were not many seats available in the area around the restaurant but that is understandable as it is more of a take away/ to-go place. Our overall experience was positive. The staff was friendly. The food was fresh, tasty, and fast. The reason for 3 stars was for lack of rice for the curry. I have never been to an Asian restaurant that runs out of rice! We will go back in the future to give them another chance.

My Dining Experience at Mai's Deli in Appleton was NOT PLEASANT. I pulled a STRING from my throat while eating a spring roll. I called for the person in charge of the restaurant and he said "If you swallowed that string it won't hurt you" He didn't even acknowledge the fact that I choked on that string and what the outcome could have been. His uncaring words are very concerning and the food they serve. I realize he can't change what happened to me but the LEAST he could have done was reimburse me the whole meal $12.25 when I asked He said no, he offered the price of that spring roll ($4.00),but I didn't accept. read more

This place has these stuffed chicken wangs (yes, they're that good that I have to use the hood version of spelling Wings) that are out of this world. No lie these are the best stuffed wings I've ever had. Any time I see them on a menu somewhere I order them hoping they'll be as good as at Mai's and I always fall asleep in a pool of my tears because nowhere holds a candle to this place. Overall the menu is a solid 4 but the chicken wings set Mai's apart. read more

AMAZING. I love the food and the employees are super nice. Eggrolls are on point and I'm a huge fan of their curries. Green curry is my favorite, but they are all delicious. Everything turned out well enough to warrant a future return. There is ample parking for the business. The dining area is nicely configured and many tables were filled when I arrived. The staff greeted me and asked if I would like a seat. Upon saying I'd like take out, I was able to immediately place my order. The restaurant has a large number of Thai offerings. I went with Eggrolls, Chicken Pad Thai and Pork Laab. I waited about 10 minutes for my order. It was nicely packaged for easy carry out. All of the food was good and even as take out, it was hot when we dug in. My dining partner and I both agreed that our dishes could have been spicier. I will remember to ask for more spice on return trips. The eggrolls were flavorful but reminded us of taquitos. There were 3 in the order, which seemed a bit skimpy for the price. In some cases, even without the benefit of half stars, I'll grade up. I didn't in this case. I was told what I owed upon ordering. I paid with bills requiring change to be made. Instead of making change, I was asked "do you want change?" The answer is yes. I understand it is the idea of them keeping it as a tip. I suggest giving me my change and letting me make the tipping decision. That said, I'll go back in the future.

It seemed as if they were making each dish one at a time and without much prep. Perhaps they have gotten more efficient as they figure things out with their new business. Menu is VERY pork forward, which is fine, but vegetarians should know that their entree selections will be extremely limited. Their salad choices seem promising, however. The eggrolls have a very good flavor and the plum dipping sauce is delicious. However, the eggrolls are so tightly packed with pork that the textural experience is somewhat akin to eating a deep-fried hotdog. My Pa Kra Pao was flavorful and juicy. However, it seemed like something that I could have made at home. My date enjoyed her sausage as well, but noted that she largely paid $14 for a single sausage, with the large majority of the dish consisting of plain rice and a fried egg. Not a bad experience overall, but I don't think we feel the need to return soon.
