Loads of tables and chairs and a large patio. The bar was redone as well and took up the main long wall of the bar. It is now a cool arcade bar. The bartenders were quick and efficient. They made really good cocktails and even suggested a few. Loved the token cards. They were easy to fill and even worked on the jukebox so that's where all of my money went. I love jukeboxes!!! There were a number of open tables but no chairs. Apparently some people had gotten there early and commandeered all the chairs. When the server came over to our table, I orders a beer and asked him if they had any more chairs. His reaction was one of disbelief, as if I was asking an unreasonable question. He said, "where would I be keeping all these chairs?" I said, "I don't know. Maybe you can tell me." He then walked away without taking my order. I had to chase him down and his attitude worsened. I asked him who he reports to and he said he reports to himself. He then told me I was about to make this day bad for everyone. I said I was just trying to order a beer and asked if you had more chairs and then you started giving me an attitude, and I don't understand why. Finally, he apologized and took my order. But this was really uncalled for. Firstly, they need to have more chairs Secondly, they should not allow people to take chairs from tables so that the rest of their patrons are standing up for three hours. Many of the people just had extra chairs that they were saving for I don't know who, but there were a lot of empty chairs The server could've told me that he was sorry that they were out of chairs, but a lot of people were saving them further could've asked people to give up their chairs that they weren't using. I have been here 3 times now, each time under duress. The last time was with friends who invited me. Two of us ordered the salt beef and both immediately sent it back - it arrived and was chunks of fat. Disgusting. I really battle to find something interesting and healthy on the menu - nothing is fresh; i don't want fried pickles and such junk; the prime rib was colder than room temp and i don't think had ever been anywhere near an oven or stove! I have really tried here and just give up. Such a shame because Poway and surrounds really need something new, exciting and healthy. This smelly, grubby wannabee place needs to close down, get scrubbed squeaky clean and allow something decent to take it's place. read more

Great specials during games and $3.50 (.50 goes to the fireman's fund) fireball shots every time a code 11 emergency vehicle goes by (they are right next to the fire department). Our server was excellent but the 1 Star is for the fact I got food poisoning. A couple days ago I went in with my boyfriend for dinner. I ordered the burgundy beef and he ordered a burger. The burgundy beef tasted a little funny but I thought maybe it was how it was supposed to taste. I ate most of it and had my boyfriend finish it for me, because I don't like to waste things. I was in the bathroom all night with food poisoning, my boyfriend had an upset stomach all night but no where near as bad as I was. Defiantly will not be going there again. read more

It took about five minutes to realize we had been here before. Not under this name, but this restaurant, and we stopped coming years ago for the exact reasons we were about to rediscover. Same building, same problems, new sign. We waited more than fifteen minutes to be seated. The dining room was not busy. Once we finally sat down, another twenty minutes passed and all we had in front of us was water, chips and salsa. Two servers were working the floor. The female server was handling her own tables, several of which had been seated after us and already had food and drinks. Ours was the male server, and he just disappeared after seating us. When our beers finally arrived they were lukewarm. From that point on I was asking him repeatedly for things that should never need asking for twice. Water refill, extra salsa, napkins because once he left our table, we didn't know if we were going to see Whodini again! Then my nephew arrived. He is Hispanic and looks it far more than I do. Our server's attention changed the moment he sat down. He came straight over, served him quickly, checked on him, and stayed attentive in a way he had not been with my husband and I once the entire evening. I literally watched that shift happen at my own table. I'm not going to pretend I don't know what I was looking at, and it was infuriating. Our food came out cold and was not palatable. My husband had stomach trouble for two days afterward. He considered going to the ER because it was so bad. Here is the part I want to be clear about, because it matters to me. Before we left that side of the restaurant, we cashed out with our server and tipped him generously. He had not earned not one single penny of it. We did it anyway. I will not let someone else's behavior decide who I am or how I treat people. We moved to the bar side to finish the evening with my nephew and his friends. When we did that we noticed it was a different restaurant experience entirely. Outstanding service, properly cold beer, everything the first half of the night should have been. Same building. Same menu. Different side. It made the earlier two hours that much harder to explain. This place changed its name. It did not change anything else. Furthermore, we will choose to spend our money where we are welcomed with excellent customer service. We will never support a business that has employees who intentionally interact with their customers based off their outward appearance. My husband and I are small business owners and this type of nonsense would never be tolerated. Mexican Bar here's a piece of advice, the owners should be more hands on and observant of how their business is being ran. However, I'm going to assume they may not know this happening. Now that they do know, fix it and do better!

What I got was a desiccated and charred freezer patty with a Kraft single on a bun and about 7 freezer onion rings. The onion rings at least had some flavor. The burger, on the other hand, tasted like char and left a char aftertaste that lasted half an hour, with not a hint of beef. I genuinely had a better burger at the 7-11 last week. Service was poor by design. This isn't a waited restaurant; you order at a counter and they bring your food out later. The time between ordering and receiving your food is just enough to make you seriously think about asking what's taking so long. None of this is the server's fault - it's the restaurant design. Ambience - inside is a dark cafeteria-style (albeit with wood furniture) that shares a space with the golf shop. I took one look and said no to that. Outside are some patio tables with the tables a few inches higher than it should be compared to the height of the chairs - makes you feel like a child. It's San Diego, so the weather is fine.
