Aloha ohana! I was looking for a good sandwich to take home and decided to stop off at Board and Brew. When I lived in Encinitas, I used to drop in for my Turkey Club Sandwich. It's a good size for one person and includes turkey breast, bacon, Swiss cheese, tomato, lettuce and mayo served on a French baguette. Customer service was great. I entered the restaurant, was greeted immediately and was told my order would be up shortly. I had a seat in the bar area which was bright with large, wrap around windows. It had a relaxed, casual vibe. Once my order was ready, the associate brought it over to me and thanked me for visiting. I missed Board and Brew when I left Encinitas, but am happy to have a Board and Brew right down the street in Poway. read more

They have great sandwiches but I do love their green salad with the spicy low cal ranch dressing with a scoop of tuna fish salad. That's what I usually order when we go to a Board and Brew. We also ordered a Roast Beef Spicy sandwich and it was delicious too. Love that it came with au jus on the side though it was cold. My 1st time here - ordered a Tom Choice and modified it a little bit. the lady @ the counter Emily- that's the name on the receipt- very welcoming and great vibe. Convenient location. Larger restaurant footprint than most sub-shops, which really equates to more customer seating. This space is ideal for lunch time meal meet ups with friends and coworkers. Ordered Tom's Choice: Baked Roast Beef & Turkey Breast combo with Cheddar, topped with Sweet & Sour Dressing, Mayo, Onion, Tomato & Lettuce on a French Baguette. My sammy had so much lettuce that it was spilling out with every bite, which I found annoying. Surprisingly, I liked the sweet n sour dressing. I also found it odd that one side of the sandwich contained a roast beef and the other side housed the turkey (see photo). Because of how it was arranged, there was noticeably more turkey than roast beef, which made me sad. Honestly, I was disappointed that I had more lettuce than meats. Normally I expect a sandwich to have the meats and other contents piled on top of one another, but maybe that's not how they do things here? Or does someone in the back need to re-learn how to make a sandwich? I've been to other Board & Brew locations and this one is comparable. I just don't recall my sandwich meats being organized quite this way before. Service was organized and prompt. Staff even came by and offered to clear our trays and trash for our group of four before we left. Excellent staff training always gets a star from me! I really wasn't digging how my sandwich was made and the unbalanced meat to veggie to bread ratio. For the price I paid I don't feel it was a good deal overall. We e always loved Board and Brew and are happy to see them expanding into various locations. Having the Poway location so close to my work is both awesome and awesomely dangerous at the same time. It gets very busy so I would suggest ordering online and it will be ready for pick up when you arrive. The spicy beef sandwiches is one of my favorites as well as the plain old turkey on sourdough with mustard, onions, and tomato from the sandwich board. I do like their sandwiches, but the experience at the bar is terrible. I see employees coming up and getting kombucha and beers and downing them before they go back to work. They're very unfriendly. I even asked bartender if he was having a bad day and he just said yes and walked away. I've been there before when all the employees are drinking at the bar taking up all the best seats and drinking free. They were loud and obnoxious and the bartender was drinking with them; I confirm this by asking one of them if free drinks is one of their perks and they told me yes. They let the employees drink on the job and they are completely unaware of the patrons needs. You have to waive them down to get served and then they're just rude to you. read more

My wife and I were here the first week of Dec (2025) . . . I'm guessing between 7-8 pm. From the parking lot, it's obvious that the crew are doing some cleaning. Sweeping, mopping, wiping down tables and changing trash. Inside I noticed that the guy prepping the sandwiches are also cleaning up. I watched him wipe the stainless steel pots and tables. Unfortunately, I also saw him wash and rinse the dirty rag he used to wipe the kitchen. Anyway, we continued to place our order and for some reason I had this weird feeling that he will not wash nor change his gloves before preparing our order. And I was right. I was going to say something, but wasn't sure why I didn't. I still tried to eat my Turkado, but just can't swallow even a small bite. I really like eating here. Today was a one off I hope. I ordered my food, paid, and was given no receipt. One of my sides was a Cesar salad. When I got it I realized i forgot to ask for no croutons, my bad I didn't. I brought it up to the counter and told them I can't eat croutons. He took it back and brought out a bowl of lettuce and a ton of parmesan cheese on it, I mean a greatly disproportionate amount of parmesan cheese on top of the dressing.
