First off, getting food nowadays sucks. No real customer service skills anymore. I walked into The Local Bite and was met with a very warm and welcoming " Hey man, how's it going? " from a gentleman behind the register and a " Hi honey, what can I help you with? " from the woman behind another register in the deli. It's a pretty decent menu and prices are good too. I dropped my kid off at the baseball field (pregame) and decided to check Yelp because I had a serious hankering for a sando. This place popped up at #1, and honestly that was enough for me. I didn't even read the reviews. When I pulled up, I almost drove right past it because it's tucked inside a liquor store. But hidden gems are usually called hidden for a reason. I walked in and asked what their most popular sandwich was. The guy recommended the California Club, which happens to be one of my go to sandwiches anywhere, so I told him to make that and add pickles because let's be honest, you gotta have pickles. Now I'm not gonna sugarcoat it, the guy making the sandwich took a sweet time. I mean almost a solid almost 10 minutes, and at one point I caught myself thinking, "This thing better be incredible." Well... it was incredible. Absolutely worth the wait. Fresh bread, stacked, flavorful, tactical, and one of those sandwiches where after the first bite you immediately stop caring how long it took. In fact, after the baseball game I went back a second time and grabbed a Cobb salad for my wife. Of course I had a few bites as a delivery tax. That thing was tremendous too. When I picture a really good Cobb salad, this is exactly what I want. Packed with egg, bacon, avocado, and just the right amount of blue cheese. Not skimpy at all. The salad also took longer than expected, but honestly I'd much rather wait a few extra minutes for food that's made right instead of rushed garbage. Well done. Easy five stars. read more

Saw this place as Hot and New on Yelp and was intrigued. Stepped into the store which had an unbelievable amount of alcohol. Decided on the California panini sandwich. We dropped by here as I saw this place was hot and new, and wasn't too far from where we lived. We had driven past it a few times and it piqued my curiosity as the bright lights of "The Local Bite" caught my eye when driving down Pomerado Road. They have a small outdoor seating area, and share the same space and parking lot as the The Local Bottle Shop. I ordered the Italian Bite on Sourdough and my other half ordered the Louisana Pulled Pork. The ingredients were quite fresh. My Italian Bite was exactly what I expected, as I usually get quite similar choices at other delis/sandwich places like Jersey Mike's Original Italian. Pricewise, I would say some Local Bite sandwiches choices are a tad more expensive than otherse (Example: Italian Bite was ~$13.99 in comparison to Jersey Mike's Original Italian Regular ~$9.45). The Louisana Pulled Pork was decent, but wasn't filling enough for my other half. The team making the sandwiches were quite nice and hospitable. You could wander through the Local Bottle Shop's aisles to see all the different type of alcohol choices while you are waiting. They have an assortment of Mexican goodies/candies along with snacks galore. They also have a walk in fridge section where some beer selections are stored. I was asked a few times if I wanted something for my sandwich when I was wandering through the shop. Guessing the options weren't there on the register when ordering. I would rank this 3.5 stars if we could do half stars. This is a decent spot to try out, resembling kind of a local deli - just some menu items being a tad more expensive than others. read more

Sandwich deli nestled within a liquor store. There is a small parking lot available for the liquor store and the sandwich shop. Be careful not to accidentally park in the U-haul parking spots as that might lead to car towing. Ordered 2 sandwiches via the phone, but upon arrival the sandwiches were not ready and actually no one was to be found in the store, both on the sandwich and liquor store side. After wandering around in the store for a few minutes someone finally appeared to make the sandwiches. Unfortunately, the sandwiches we ordered turned out to be bland and flavorless. Initially, ordered a Turkey and Brie and they were out of brie and cranberry chutney, leaving me with just a turkey sandwich, so I changed my order to a Cali-Club and they were out of Sprouts. Turned out to be just a turkey and mayo sandwich. The bacon was also forgotten or also out. Disappointed they were out of so many key ingredients that would make sandwiches good. We are local to the area and this is about the 3rd time ordering a sandwich here. I hoped over time it would get better since opening but it hasn't. The wait time is the biggest issue. Regardless of ordering online or at the counter, expect at least 15-20 minutes at a minimum. As for the quantity- it is sub par. Bread always seems to be stale and the sandwiches overall dry and not flavorful. This will be my last time eating here. I hope they can turn it around as I know they are a small business. read more

We'd love to come to look liquor store and order a sandwich then we can get whatever chips everybody wants whatever drinks everybody wants kids love it we seen the good reviews of the local bite and we came in to try it recently and it was not good. They only had two choices of bread that day when they're supposed to have many more choices of bread, we ordered from what they had, and the bread was completely stale. I had to rip most of it off and Artie the sandwich. My roast beef had multiple chewy pieces that had to be pulled out of the sandwich, we were so excited to try this place and the sandwich was just not good. Just a sandwich, nothing special. I ordered the club and it was completely dry (no condiments) and the rye bread was stale. I added mayo and mustard at home but that didn't compensate for the bread. I could tell they use quality deli meat and the avo was fresh. I ordered via phone so perhaps a key step was missed regarding condiments. The person on the phone didn't ask. My wife had the portobello sandwich. Goat cheese was the star, couldn't taste the mushroom, same rye bread problem. Twenty bucks for two mediocre sandwiches wasn't worth it. I was hesitant at first, because we wanted a sandwich, and it's a liquor store, but the quality of the bread and meat was immaculate. One of the best sandwich I've had. Owner was very friendly. Now let's get to the liquor store part, this store is unbelievable clean, and on point which I'll get too. I've been in the beer business over 20 years, so I know what to expect. Beer, selection was unbelievable, with beer cave which I've only seen in the east coast. I'm a big fan of whiskey, he literally had every single unicorn bottle available. I caught my eye on Michters 10yr bottle I had to take back home. I'm not from this area, was visiting for my son's baseball tournament he was playing around the area. You know a place as excellent when you have it Monday and then immediately have to come back another day and bring your family. Earlier this week, I tried the club sandwich earlier this week and was amazed by the meat quality other cheese quality and the fresh vegetables they put on this delicious fresh bread. So instead of having a breakfast with my family I took everyone out to have a nice lunch here. Do not let the looks deceive you (inside a store) for this sandwich shop is extremely fresh and the bread that they have on the sandwiches is top quality. Today, I again had my favorite the club sandwich, my husband tried the Italian and he loved it! Will definitely be back throughout the week to try the pesto and a few other things on the menu. I really like the outdoor dining place that they have set up. The size is impressive and the fresh bread is structurally sound throughout eating (I hate it when the bread disintegrates before you finish).
