I've been buying Maingear PCs for almost as long as they have been a company and I've been consistently happy with the quality of their builds and service. Sure, there have been builds that took longer than expected due to part availability, but that's the nature of the beast. I'd rather it take a little longer to get the part I wanted and not rush the process. I tend to do a refresh of my "Ultimate Gaming Rig" about every 3-4 years, and this is my 4th Maingear. Usually, I'll do a video card update at the midway point, and then give my old machine to a friend or family member. My son-in-law is the beneficiary of the rig I replaced with this one, my nephew is the beneficiary of the one before, and my wife has my original Maingear PC. Keeping the love in the family. I purchased my Maingear Ascension PC about two weeks ago, and the entire experience has been fantastic from start to finish. I've normally built my own computers or gone with other high‑quality gaming systems, so I tend to be pretty selective -- but Maingear absolutely impressed me. The website made it incredibly easy to explore different configurations. It was intuitive, well‑organized, and fun to use. Even though I usually customize everything, the pre‑built option offered the best value by far. The only downside is that because this was a limited‑run build, the link disappeared once all units were sold. Just purchased the Maingear MG-1 Elite to replace a 9 year old Gaming PC from Origin PC. My 1080 TI was still going strong but it struggled with several modern releases. I have been nothing but impressed with everything from a painless purchase experience to an undamaged delivery. Setup was simple and everything has worked without a hitch. The only hiccup was that I had to inquire as to where two software bundle redeem codes for an included promotion with the purchase were. A couple of emails handled that satisfactorily and the Promo department emailed me the Redeem codes. I am happy with the purchase. read more

My previous prebuilt was from Digitalstorm and while it worked, it did have some questionable placement of fans and used a blower GPU in a case that it's not really optimal for, so I had a lot of DIY work. In contrast, I can't really find any significant faults with the build decisions for my Maingear prebuilt other than my own configuration choices. All parts seem to be placed correctly and the GPU is a proper 3-fan variant. I made the mistake of getting a 14600k instead of an x3d processor, but the builders installed the latest bios, so I will survive the Intel voltage issue. My primary complaint is that the case had no internal packaging foam, though the GPU is still perfectly fine due to the 3D printed anti-sag bracket, so I will forgive that. My secondary complaint is that I wish the PSU was mounted with the fan pointing down to take advantage of the case's bottom PSU filter. For some reason, there aren't any options in the PCIE add on section in the configurator, but I think the company should have a PCIE USB card option because of how easy it is to run out of USB controller resources these days. Also something to note is that this is one of the few custom PC builders to offer a non-glass case option, thanks to the North XL. More PC builders need to do this because some people like me don't like tempered glass. read more

I really like my machine, it's the second one I have purchased. The biggest complaint is out of the box functionality: I have had the machine lock-up/ freeze multiple times and have had to reload drivers, updates, multiple restarts, resulting in frustration and lost work time. While each individual task was not a major item, added up it is a concern. Purchasing a very expensive custom machine should be closer to a clean startup, even with MS11. read more

I've built my own PCs since 1998 when I was in middle school with the AMD K6-2 series. This is my first prebuilt. The order process was pretty simple. I expected a little more hand holding given the price of the system, but all in all it was pretty smooth. There was a miscommunication and they ended up sending me a follow-up invoice for some additional aesthetics I requested. The PC arrived on time and ahead of schedule. It was packed very thoroughly, carefully, and arrived firmly attached to a crate. So far there have been zero issues throughout the past ~2 weeks of ownership. I will update accordingly once some substantial time has passed. I am a little disappointed in the choice of the motherboard. Given the custom loop, I assumed they would use a better motherboard. I did 0 research and decided to trust Maingear implicitly with their choice of parts. It was only after I tried bumping the overclock on the i9-9900k from their conservative all-core 4.7ghz to 5.0ghz that I noticed my motherboard was the weakest link. Now that I have gone through the purchase experience once, I think next time I will definitely research motherboards and request the best one available as a custom order. For a ~$10k build, I feel they really should have had some more options. For example, with some quick Googling, the Asus Rog Maximus XI Gene Z390M had already hit the market but the only option they provided me was the TUF Z390M-Pro Gaming which, according to the motherboard hierarchy - https://i.redd.it/6j8i71dbrxv11.png, is the absolute lowest tier. Given both the cost of the system and my custom loop, feels a bit bad; I would have gladly paid the extra $150 for a better motherboard for some better VRM management/settings. It really feels like I got a Ferrari, complete with killer aesthetics, full aero & custom intercooler, an amazing but "very hot" engine, but an absolutely gimped transmission. To Maingear's credit, their conservative overclock has been extremely stable, temps don't go above 60c even under load. As for performance, the only game I play is Destiny 2. Otherwise, it's usually just Spotify/Excel/Word/Dropbox life for me. The performance was a little disappointing. I'm only getting 120-130fps on my 1440p ultrawide, with a 2080ti/i9-9900k/32gb pc-3200 ram. Maybe that's in-line with expectations, but for someone who hasn't really kept up with PC tech in the last 5 years, it does make me feel that this PC is not very future-proof since it's not exactly blowing current gen games out of the water. They also shipped me their new Forma chair as part of a promo. I'm 5'10" and it is far too small for me. I gave it to my wife who is 5'5" and her head peaks above the seat already. But she says it's very comfortable. Obviously it is still extremely early, but I think I would purchase from Maingear again now that my expectations have been sorted. read more

He was super let down by his experience so he decided "Hey I can do this better" and created Maingear the next day. I've had a similar experiences through the years. Unfortunately, Maingear has been one of my worst experiences to date. What was bad: The 3500$ PC arrived in roughly 7 weeks from ordering. The PC was shipped to me without any wifi at all. This would have taken 4 weeks to resolve as I just received the part from Maingear in the mail. Guess they forgot to install the wifi (so much for one man one machine accountability, or testing the machine at all.) What I ended up getting from Maingear for wifi has got to be joke. This is a 3500$ machine and they sent me a TP-Link TL-WN725N. This is a USB, max 150mbps 10$ retail. Completely unacceptable in a 3500$ machine. You can get a TP Link AC-1200 for roughly 22$ retail, and has a max of 867mbps dual band. Cost to benefit ratio can't be ignored. -Straight out of the box no wifi, and the chassis lighting controller that comes with the Vybe did not work. -No fan curve of any kind set, so the fans constantly revved up and down. Pretty normal if those settings in BIOS havn't been touched, or are set incorrectly. (I have since corrected the fan curve with the help from Reddit and MG customer support, fans run a bit higher now, but don't rev back and forth every minute while idle). -Not one manual was sent with the pc. -System seems to run pretty hot while monitoring the thermals. Will need to purchase some static pressure fans to relieve some of the heat. The case doesn't breathe that well from the front, as it only has vent holes going down that one side. (to me this is minor and a easy swap out later on). What was good: -Customer support however has been spot on. Really easy to work with. We got the chassis lighting controller to work. (still something strange with it, if i select the color blue on my controller, the color red turns on. This is for almost every button on the controller). -Performance in gaming has been great. Conclusion: I was going to order an additional Vybe for my wife. We like to play games together, and she is using my old pc. I can say with confidence I won't be ordering from Maingear again. ordered an mg-1 diamond, when it got close to the expected build day max time frame I had to reach out to them to find out they were waiting on parts supposedly, was told it would be done by end of the week, Friday rolls around and no email, no confirmation, no shipping information, just ghost town. I call again and was told their QA system was down but I should get shipping information early the next week, called on tuesday of the next week to find out there was more issues but a batch of my builds had finished and I should receive shipping information by EoD or early the next morning, next day still nothing, I called today (Wednesday) only to be told my build hadn't even been built yet, mind you I had to reach out every time, never got a call or email from them since the day I ordered it. I went through a builder so I didn't have to deal with all this BS and now I'm dealing with more than if I just ordered the parts and had someone build it locally, after this experience I will do everything in my power to make sure anyone and everyone I play games with NEVER orders through here. I ordered a PC on 12/31/2020. They charged my credit card on 1/4/2021. The only reply from them is that I'm in queue. Before ordering they said 4 to 6 weeks but not it's 4 to 10 weeks. I would have canceled the order but they want 5% which is $202.00 just for sitting in queue. I'm sorry but this seems like a scam. Hold someones money until they get frustrated enough to cancel the order. So much for consumer protection. At this point I hate to see how the support will be. read more

So this is the first time I've ever been annoyed enough to write a review about anything. I want to start off by saying that to my knowledge, Maingear generally makes very well made systems and I am focused more on the customer service experience and how I have been treated by their employees. For a company that is so focused on high end computer systems, they put very little emphasis on treating their customers well. I spend upwards of $7000 on an F131 (I know a lot of money for a computer and more than I would have spent building one). I decided to purchase from Maingear because I do really respect their engineering aesthetics/quality. However, almost every time I have spoken to one of their employees over the phone, they have been borderline rude to me and extremely condescending. The last guy I talked to basically sounded like he wasn't even listening to my questions and was instead focused on some completely different task while I was talking to him. He brushed off every question I had about the computer as unimportant and not worth his time. For a customer who spent a crazy amount of money on one of their systems, this seems like a pretty bad way to do business. Why not just hire employees that have good social skills and are helpful/respectful towards customers? I definitely would have considered buying another system from Maingear, but because of the condescending and un-attentive people I have had to deal with, I will take my business elsewhere in the future. I would rather buy from a company with lesser build quality that knows how to treat their customers to be honest. If any upper management reads these Yelp reviews, you will improve your business and customer experience a lot by focusing on this unacceptable employee/customer dynamic in the future. read more

My husband bought me a nice Main Gear Laptop that is light weight but still capable of working and playing some of the current comp games. It was leaning upwards of 7 weeks when it arrived and I was elated! Finally, I could ditch my old, slow POS. It was great! For about a day... because that's about how long it took me to install all the things I needed to in order to use it. Next day, and everyday since then, I had multiple blue-screen KRNL crashes. So many that all I could reasonably do was answer emails and maybe watch a YouTube video. Anything else caused the blue screen of death. So, after going back and forth with their customer service (who, if there was any heroes in this story it would've been them as they tried to help me) as we tried different things to determine the issue. So. Many. Things. But after weeks and weeks (it is mid-March at this point) they finally decide I need to return it so they can fix it. Okay, fine - I expected as much. But then they tell me I need to return it AT MY EXPENSE. Really? Your product is faulty to the point of being next to USELESS and you think I should pay for the shipping it back so you can FIX YOUR BROKEN computer? Grrrr... FINE. I SHIP IT BACK. I naively imagined they would just swap it for another of the same type and ship it right back. Nope! Instead, they tell me the GPU is faulty. Gosh! Really!? I've only been saying that from day one. The blue screen of death said so every time and yes, I supplied them with that type of information from the get-go. They then proceed to relay that the parts to fix it aren't available so they will need to keep it until then (4 weeks). So, from November to now, March, I have been without a reliable useable computer. I ask okay, since I cannot get it back for a while what if I upgraded to a laptop you current have and you charge me the difference with a discount considering the HOT-MESS you sent me is defective. Oh, no... the best they could possibly do is to offer me that upgrade but charge me for it on a promise to 1-Fix my original purchase and return it God knows when, 2-CHARGE ME FOR THE TEMP LOANER with a (promise-cross-my-heart) refund when they get it back, and 3-Big no to the upgraded computer I pay extra for to please a "valued" customer because their POS product was (add pooemoji) . I'm currently now asking for a full refund. But, at this point seeing as they're about as consumer pleasing oriented as a technician about to give you an enema... I'm guessing the answer is no. Just don't. The first unit I bought was a Prelude around 2009. It was a great little PC until the motherboard failed after about 3.5 years. That was a beech getting it all fixed by a bunch of local dicks. It cost me use of some of my ports for which there were no connections on the only motherboard that would fit in that box that I could afford. It still was overall a decent computer and I got good service out of it for 6 years, then decided to buy a new tower. The builder is supposed to stay in contact, THEY NEVER DID!! I had to call them and email them many times to find out WTF was going on with my build. They were egregiously slow and full of excuses, and when I did finally get some answers I was told my unit hadn't started the build process over three weeks after the parts were supposedly picked. Then f i n a l l y I got an email that the tower was being built, then the same day I got one stating that is was boxed and ready to ship!! So they built it out in 3 hours? And bench tested it too? Or someone told the dummy building it to get on the stick and email his customer? I got an F131, it should have been pretty decent for almost $4K, but it is the slowest POS I've ever had! Open a browser, the little "waiting" icon spins and spins and spins. Close a browser, it spins and spins and spins. It has an i7-6800K 3.4GHz processor and 32GB RAM, and runs from the day I got it like a total turd! It's the most expensive tower I have ever owned, I don't game with it, I just didn't want to have to have a ton of lag in Photoshop etc, and get this, I can't even drag a window from one side of the desktop to the other without three tries! Did they ship it preloaded with botware? I have strong antivirus and firewall, and keep everything updated, I'm careful, I have never had this kind of totally weak performance, even with my old HP Pentium 3. Not to mention my wireless mouse refused to work, so I bought another, it was okay for a day, I bought another, I lived with basically a barely functioning mouse for MONTHS!! I threw two of them against the wall, WTF, 20 years of computing and now a simple mouse won't work...? I had to go back to wired. I'll blame that on Windows 10, but really, wouldn't a company like this know about it and give a customer a heads up? Also it came with scratches on the glass and case, the binder that comes with these with the software and bench test reports inside was so flimsy it was already all torn up. It took them so long to build it I didn't get any of the "free games" advertised, because they don't give the codes until they ship. The base support doesn't fit. It totally looks like it's meant for a different tower. The front headphone jack has never worked. It's nothing like what I expected from Maingear, and I'm embarrassed that I had cluelessly been recommending them to other people for years! I purchased a Nomad 17 laptop for video editing/3D rendering projects. I love it!! It's an absolute beast. The Maingear staff was super helpful tackling several new pc issues for me (New pcs will often have issues, not Maingear's fault) My system arrived on schedule, but is still Windows based, so I had to ship it back so they could tinker with it more. They fixed it quickly returned it to me in like 72 hours, and it was ready to rock. I've been knocking out heavy projects for like 2 years now with no issues. Can't say enough about how hard the employees worked to correct the problem, they really were wonderful, polite, and motivated to satisfy my needs. My only beef with Maingear, isn't actually a beef eith Maingear, but with First Mutual Finance, the bank they use to facilitate financed pc purchases. I should've just purchased the Nomad outright, but wanted an easy plus-up to my credit score by knocking out a loan way early. FMF was terrible to work with, and their payment site makes everything much more difficult than it has to be, especially when you try to payoff the balance early, to the point where it just felt corrupt. Even the hard copy statements omitted several critical points of information, including remaining total balance. I love everything about my Maingear pc and experiences with their staff, but the FMF situation was such a headache. If you're lookin for a powerhouse computer, buy it from Maingear. Save up your money and buy it straight up. But if you must finance it, get that funding elsewhere, avoid FMF. 5 stars for Maingear, 0 stars for First Mutual Finance. Can't comment on quality or service but can say that they're currently unable to ship. I bought a bundled system that they said would ship faster than a custom system (3-4 weeks). I checked in after 4 weeks and they said 6 weeks. At 6 weeks I checked in again and they said 7 weeks. I'll update the review upon receipt. Update: I just upgraded review to 4 stars. They delivered at the 7 week mark. The computer arrived in excellent packing materials and works perfectly. Aside from their thrice-bumped delivery time, the experience was very good. All the Maingear reps I spoke to were polite, knowledgeable and helpful. read more

Technical and overall experience is terrible. If it wasn't for the support and the management the device would be "good" when it is working. This is my second machine. The parts are horrendous. I have had nothing but problems with almost everything....hard drive.....blue ray. After killing my machine because of a bad update (it seems the M2 was not compatible with the windows 7 update) that was married to my M2 (i spent a small fortune to fix everything) the blue ray crapped out. I was reimbursed for the M2 and given a $100 check. While the company did send me a new blue ray no one can get out the old one. Terrible. Just terrible. A monkey with access to YouTube could build a computer (it took me about 3 hours my first build), so why can't they build one in a reasonable time? These guys are completely fraudulent and string their customers along with A) cheap, failure prone hardware B) completely deceitful estimated delivery C) bait-and-switch practices when advertising the hardware. I made the mistake of ordering with these guys only due to the paucity of new 3000 series GPUs and Ryzen 5900x CPUs. They said 3-4 weeks and their rude representative Jarod reiterated multiple times that it would meet that date... four weeks later I receive the "we are running behind schedule." A quick join of their Discord and you realize they're not only behind schedule, but others have been waiting over three months. Truth is, they have around 1k people in queue ahead of you and won't admit that they can't fill the orders in a reasonable time. They string everyone along because they're doing something that should be free (building). 500$ of a 4000$ build is for the labor alone. How can you think 1-2 hours of your time is worth 500$ for clicking things into place!? Sure, they're taking advantage of teens who haven't figured out building yourself only requires a bit of time and a YouTube video, but 500$?! If you are reading this, call your Credit Card company and tell them to recall the transaction and that this business is fraudulent. It's the only way to ensure they do not receive the 5% they are banking on. They have hundreds, if not thousands, of orders ahead of you and are banking on that 5% cancellation fee for profit. I sent in my PC for repairs early November and it took these guys two months to send my PC back to me for Power Supply Failure. Not only that, I didn't receive a single phone call from Sal, their guy in charge of my repair, updating me on the status of my repair. I had to call them myself and inquire about my computer. When they told me they would get back to me the following day, they did not. I may not be a computer expert, but it seems to me that diagnosing and repairing a Power Supply should not take no more than 60 days. And by some miniscule of a chance that it did take that long, I would have expected the company to give me some sort of an update a least 2 weeks after receiving my shipment. When they did repair, they wanted to charge me for a 800+ watt PSU for something crazy like $180. I told them that I could not afford that and that the same one would suffice. Thiago was kind enough to let me have it for $160 and I am sure they overcharged me anyways. Overall I am glad I got my PC back, but I felt that it took way too long. When it is time for me to get a new PC, I may not want to go back to Maingear. Apparently, they only treat you good as long as you are under warranty... read more

I ordered my custom PC from Maingear in April 2012. It was not a very pleasant experience, the ordering process online was straight forward and easy. However, everything that came after that was a wreck. I received a phone call 10-days after I placed the order and they claimed they didn't have the particular video card I wanted so they wanted to use another one (classic bait-and-switch), after I asked to speak to the operator's supervisor I advised them I had no intentions to change my mind and if they didn't fulfill my order I would ask for a full refund. They quickly apologized and started to build my PC (a week after it should have been delivered). Upon delivery, they failed to put the dampening material and the codes that were promised for a promotional. Trying to get a refund took 2-weeks and I never received the promotional codes. If you have the time and money, go to a reputable company to get a custom built gaming PC--avoid Maingear. read more

Just like Niel from San Francisco, I also bought a Quantum Shift PC back in May 2014. The keyboard and mouse options were terrible -- what happened to basic normal sleek looking mice and keyboards? It took quite a long time to build and I had to kickstart the process by sending an email to customer service. The PC was then quickly put together and shipped -- doubt they could have burned it in for 72 hours because it shipped so fast. When it shipped, Maingear also forgot to send the USB V3.0 wireless adapter I ordered with it. I had to call to get that sent. Lucky I had a spare wireless adapter. Just after a couple of years, the Seagate hard drive died. I thought I had a three year warranty but when I talked to technical support, they said I had a two year enhanced warranty -- it seems that Maingear does not do warranties greater than two years. I would have gladly paid for a four year warranty especially on a pricey PC like this -- over $6300. Two years after the hard drive failure, the CPU fan stopped working. The CPU cooler was a water cooled system and there were no replacements! I was told to look for an older model water cooled CPU cooler (which no longer existed) or standard CPU cooler. And about a year after that or at the five year mark, the USB V3.0 ports on the PC have stopped working -- only the USB V2 ports by the two NICs worked reliably now. BIOS updates have not helped. Driver updates have not helped either. $6300 have gone down the toilet. I remember buying a top of the line Dell PC in 2000 for about $2,300. That PC lasted me 13 years and my father used it for two more years. My Maingear Quantum Shift has been a huge disappointment and now I have to buy another PC to use USB V3.0 devices. read more

I just ordered my third Maingear computer, a laptop. My first computer was a Shift, 8 years ago mind you, and it is still my daily gaming machine. I bought a 2nd Shift to replace my old non-gaming pc about 4 years ago and it is still running strong. The quality and craftsmanship of Maingear computers are 2nd to none but thier support is what keeps me coming back. I've had an issue here and there, and I've found the Maingear staff responsive and very knowledgeable. I recommend them to anyone who wants the best. read more

TL;DR: Don't bother, if you do expect trouble. I thought that I would leave a review here because my previous reviews were hidden or removed. I have had a terrible experience with MAINGEAR over the past few years. I first purchased a MAINGEAR SHIFT in 2016 (Note they don't sell these anymore, even though they were one of their best looking products). Although the computer never seemed to work perfectly, I dealt with it for quite a few months. When I first received the computer, the front panel IO was broken, there were pretty major scratches on the case, the so called "custom" fan curves were terribly optimized and a few motherboard ports were also not working. While most of these problems I could deal with or fix myself, this was just the beginning. About 8 months later, the computer completely died. When I tried to boot the computer I would instantly be met with a BSOD, before instantly shutting off. Clearly this was a hardware issue, as I tried resetting Windows 10, updating the BIOS on the motherboard, etc. So, I immediately sent them an email. They mentioned that the typical turnaround was 1-2 months. I sent it in (I paid for shipping I must add) and it sat there for more than 2 months before receiving another email that they were finally working on it. OK. They were just backlogged, and I would soon receive what they advertised as amazing customer service, right? Wrong. A month after that (Now almost 4 months since I first sent it in) I drove to their NJ headquarters because I refused to pay for shipping a second time around, and realized what I got myself into. Walking into the door, it was clearly amateurs I was working with. I picked up the computer, and drove nearly 3 hours home before realizing that the computer still wouldn't boot, and on further inspection, all they did was swap the PSU and reset Windows. The issue was a faulty RAM module. One of the easiest things to test, something that takes at most 20 minutes to figure out. Now, a year and a half later, I tried scrapping and rebuilding the PC, but that was practically impossible because the case was so cheaply constructed. They advertise that their cases are painted with automotive paint and are built to last. The side acrylic window was not only partially cracked, but also completely fell off the case. 5 stars for the computer I bought August 2014. I loved it and it worked well for 2.5 years. It came with a 3 year service warranty, which is great! When my computer needed repair, I sent it in, and Maingear returned my computer repaired after 4 weeks. Which isn't horrible. But I never received communication as to what was going on with my repair. I had to call and email to get communication going. And then when I got my box back, clips off the front panel were broken and the fan cover was missing, meaning dust and lint can get up into my computer case. So while I was very happy with my initial purchase, the repair and customer service after sale was horrible. And I wish I would have not sent my box in for repair. read more

I had a superb experience with Maingear and it really is my pleasure to take the time to write this review. Maingear caught my eye initially with their new parts and relatively low pricing compared to other custom PC builders. On top of this, I contacted them and informed them that I had a very similar set-up planned with one of their competitors and I was on the fence. I also sent this same e-mail to the other company. What happened? The other company (supposedly reputable) simply never got back to me. On the other hand, a friendly and informative Maingear rep e-mailed me back within an hour of my e-mail. He offered me some additional suggestions and savings that put Maingear over the mark for me. Thank you Jeremy Chisamore and Anthony Cali at Maingear, you guys are an asset to the organization! With that said, I received my rig not but two weeks ago and have been loving its performance and build quality. It's also worth noting that Maingear stocks very new components, they got in the Nvidia 6GB Titan very quickly after it was released and integrated into their options system. I am totally satisfied with the process, customer interaction/communication, price and performance of Maingear, I highly recommend them! Still fighting with them 2 rebuilds, and computer has been shipped in for hardware failure over and over with them telling me that it is a driver issue. Even when using the computer with only a known good keyboard and mouse it shuts down and restarts with hardware failures. Now I have been waiting on word if I can get a refund or is I am stuck with this piece of trash. read more

BUYER BEWARE Ordered their new Alpha 34 with the best parts only to find out after talking to some people who work sith computer building and repair, some parts are quite sketchy for the build like their power is only 450 80plus bronze (checking on sites that do an estimate, with the Titan x and 5960 cpu and everything else you need at least 540+ for a stable reliable system, and bronze instead of gold or platinum for the rating at the price I'm paying?) and their motherboard was a brand that isn't known for their reliability or stability (this part I mainly got word from all the people who worked in ncix). The whole build I had was going for 8k USD and you would think for that much money they would have at least let me pick a better ram (only one choice for ram DDR4 16gb and only one of them) and power block (the motherboard I understand might be a size limitation for the former factor). After checking prices and checking their international policy I decided against keeping my pre-order (since even with warranty I will need to pay for shipping which may cost any where above 300-400 CAD) that hasn't started assembly yet, since it was only a day after they got the order, so I called in to cancel the order only to find they are going to charge me 400 USD to cancel this order since they charge 5% for cancellation on orders for "credit card" transaction (note that Amex only cost 3%, Visa and Mastercard only cost 1.5% for transaction). It's quite ridiculous how they want to charge me 5% for a cancelled order that they literally did nothing yet except charge my credit card. And no where under their refund policy do they state they charge 5% credit card transactions fee, only a service fee, but since I literally made an order and cancelled right away they literally haven't served me or done anything for me until they cancel my product. TLDR; the parts they use in the alpha 34 are sketchy, so beware of clicking that order button, because the moment it goes through you need to pay 5% of the total cost whether you cancel your order or not, which for me amounted to 400 USD roughly for clicking a button and realising their builds are not realistic. read more
