These guys are absolutely dreadful. They are neither knowledgeable about computers nor particularly welcoming. I recently brought in an HP laptop in which the cursor was not functioning as it should when typing. They looked at it, ostensibly cleaned it up, and returned it to me. I brought it home and within a day the same problem began. I brought it back. This time, they told me that' all I needed to do was to restart the computer on a regular basis rather than to simply shut it down. We tried this, and it worked for 30 minutes until I returned home. I usually don't submit reviews but I felt I needed to for the great service that I received. The Technicians Nick & Chris know what they are doing and they always take the time to explain things patently. If you want a gaming computer built, this is the place to get it done properly. Less than zero support, when you need it most. I have used village computer in the past and have to say the service was good, but slipping. Unfortunately I used them again not long ago when my laptop crashed.. The story: I told them I was leaving for an overseas trip and they said the laptop was fixed and good to go. I went overseas, booted up (actually booted up on the flight) and had the exact same paper weight. I called them and left a frustrated message (2x's) and asked for a call back.Zip I ended up paying triple $$ overseas to get the laptop going again. I've waited to post this review because I figured they would have called me back eventually, nope, been over two months. In this day and age if you can't differentiate yourself in a competitive market by providing decent customer experience and basic follow up your doomed. I'm sure they are not doomed, but they lost me as a customer and instead of recommending them I'll tell anyone that asks to avoid them at all costs. read more

First and foremost, their PC repair charges are $99 an hour regardless of the work you are having done (which is extremely steep). They do not make an effort to convey this to you up front. I had minor work done to my laptop and ended up with an extremely high bill. It could have been done for a fraction of the cost elsewhere. On top of that, my laptop was not put back together adequately and I had to make adjustments afterwards myself. For such high service fees, you would expect absolute perfection. Two stars because my laptop is technically fixed, but I am not thrilled with my experience and will not be returning. read more

Brought what I thought was a very expensive paper weight into Village Computer and walked out with a fully functioning computer! No seriously, these guys did a great job fixing up a five year old system that I thought was completely shot. Fees were more than reasonable and maybe a "tad" cheaper than other repair shops I have used over the years. Turn around time was one day. Bottom line, if your computer is dead.. bring it to Village Computer. read more

I have used Village Computer for years and have been very happy. The staff is knowledgeable on the latest technology, has given good advice in purchasing equipment, networked computers at our family business, and installed a whole house back-up system. They've been great at fixing crashed computers and setting up systems. I didn't know one of my hard drives was still under warranty when I brought a computer in and they looked it up and let me know. THEY ARE SCAMMERS , PLEASE trust me and beware, do not shop there.. Tell me what "reputable" store has "no refunds" printed on their receipt.. AND NO "exchanges", so, YES we all heard of "no refunds" BUT if your product is good, you would have no reason to put this on your receipt, "AFTER" u purchase the item. (this is when u fund out) and they also state "No Exchanges" so if something does not work you can NOT exchange it. Please please please do not shop here. i reside in bernardsville and i am helping you out by telling you this.
