There are two floors, don't forget to check out both. Downstairs is the big window Jelly beally mascot in the window. The store is very crowded, as it's smaller and when there are a ton of people, it can being tricky to maneuver especially if you are looking to browse and if you have young visitors with you. The service, was ok. They were super busy and I'm sure it was stressful for them. One thing that caught me and my family off guard was the abrupt way our transaction was completed. The person was literally aggressively snatching the items to scan and jamming them into the bag. Once done, she pushed the bag towards us and yelled "next" to the customers behind us, I still thanked her and wished her a good day. It was not acknowledged....It felt odd and very cold compared to our experiences we have had at the factory store. Definitely prefer the other location and the customer service there. Again, it could have been because they were busy ...but it didn't set right with us, especially my little niece, who is 4 yrs old, who picked up on the vibe. I would have given the store 5 stars if it wasn't for that interaction. Still love their candy, especially the maple malt balls.

I love planning our trips. Not only do I select what towns we visit and what we want to see or do…read morein each town, I also plan the food side of it... where we eat meals, any snacks or treats. I have it all written out, so we know where we'll be going. Kind of like... when in Rome, do as the Romans do. For me, I need to know ahead of time what that'll be, so we can do them. Such was the case with Wilbur's of Maine Chocolates. Don't remember now where I read about this place, but some blogger mentioned them with high praise, so on my list this place went. We made a point to stop by Wilbur's on our way to Boothbay Harbor (also in Maine for those who don't know), and we are so glad we did. This is primarily a candy shop... but it is so much more. They have other food items, home decor, gift items, and of course, lots of chocolate. We bought a couple of stuffed animals for our grandchildren, as well as some flavored sauces in a jar (to be poured over ice cream), and we couldn't leave without buying some chocolates ! We tried some chocolate-dipped orange rind and a few truffle flavors as well. Everything was very fresh and tasty. If I'm ever fortunate enough to be in Maine again, I'm sure we will stop here again.

They continue to expand, to offer local Maine products, both food and textiles - it's a great place to go for buying gifts for people. Some of my favorites are shown in the pictures - I love anything maple and their maple malt balls are my absolute favorite! I love their chocolate covered products, pretzels, cherries, peanuts, raisins and blueberries and so much more. They sell Sweet Monkey Business shortbread cookies on occassion - they are the best in Maine for packaged cookies. The owner is very kind as well. This year (2025) my favorite purchase was the Candy Cottage kit! So cute and creative and it smells so much better than gingerbread. I loved it. Great for gift giving as well. Parking is great and there is an car charging spot as well if you are lucky enough to snag the spot. Not a super charger, but it's something. I hope to be able to participate in a special event sometime. They offer tours, and candy making events, like make your own candy cane. With that said, I highly recommend. Stop on by, you might see me shopping LOL

This place is touted as being the "working man's marina" and it really is - if you have a boat and come here often, you can create an account so that you don't have to carry cash or a card with you! How helpful is that!!? All of the baked goods are made by Judy and her biscuits are heavenly!!! I got the lobster biscuit and they asked if I wanted cheese and I was confused but GET THE CHEESE it will help make the sandwich melt in your mouth. The lobster is cooked into the egg and the cheese helps bind it and make it a little more savory. They have a candy area and while it's not a penny candy station (inflation) it's still fun to fill up a little bag of tootsie rolls and Swedish fish!!! And did I mention the ice creams and frappes?!? I didn't take a picture of my frappe because one sip in and it was half gone - that's how delicious it is!!! Their ice creams and milks are al locally produced and they are all tasty galore!!! You will not go wrong with any flavor but I highly recommend the maple!!! This is a must try when in the area!!!!
