Vegan, i.e. Dairy-free ice cream in multiple flavors (10 of them today), not just one token flavor! Got a super refreshing coffee shake (dairy-free of course). Good outdoor seating with a view only a driveway's width from the river. Reasonable prices make this a welcome treat. And the flavors are listed in alphabetical order!
This local spot has everything you need in a picture-perfect ice cream cone. The flavor combos are amazing and they come so so cute. Ice cream is delicious and huge - def worth the money. If you're coming by Hallowell - or live there- you should stop by and get an unforgettable treat! Also- the workers are almost all local high school students so they are super nice and very helpful!
They have a good selection (not as many options as some other places but still a good number) of Giffords ice creams. They also have several vegan options made with oat milk, at least one of which is also gluten free. So they seem to have a large enough menu to offer something for most anyone, without actually having a ton of flavors (probably due to freezer space since it is a small building). Extravagant toppings and combinations seem to be their signature here. I ordered the Diggin for Dinos and it took a little while to come out (I was the only customer at the time). But once I ate it, I realized all the toppings and ice cream were layered so that makes sense that it took a couple minutes to make. The prices are definitely higher than other area ice cream places, but they do seem to have differentiated themselves a bit.
The ice cream is not home-made, but it sure tastes that way when it is served from Local Scoop. The most important thing to note is the specialty cones on their menu. These are simply out of this world concoctions in a waffle cone big enough to let you skip a meal. Not only are these delicious, but they are artistic masterpieces. They also have normal cones of your choice with lots of interesting flavors along with the normal standbys. One thing I have not seen before is that Local Scoop has a list of 3-5 vegan flavors available. For those who need a pick-me-up, try the Coffee Float, which is coffee ice cream floating in iced coffee with a drizzle of chocolate and plenty of whipped cream.
just found this place and I absolutely love this it! Their ice cream creations are a work of art and so creative. Definitely instagram worthy! What they don't seem to advertise is just how good their house waffle cones are. Insider tip ask for that All the workers are extremely sweet and friendly. It's a always a fun experience when we go.
This picture only tells half the story because the adults liked as much as the kids. We were looking for dairy free options and this place had almost a dozen (plus lots of dairy options). It was amazing and all of them were very good but the sherbet was even better. Two flavors were already sold out so we got the orange. It had orange zest in it and a fresh, clean flavor, maybe the best I've ever had. The people were very laid back and friendly and the order came amazingly fast. I don't know if Maine is an ice cream mecca or we just got lucky but I'm a bit sad that I live 3000 miles away.
Amazing!! Fresh & delicious ice cream! All of the staff where super friendly & helpful. I love that vegan ice cream. Such a cute spot to watch the water & enjoy ice cream! They also have puppy ice cream! Deff check this place out! Will deff take my family here when they visit :-)
I will never go here again. They charged me $15.10 for one three scoop waffle cone (website says $5.29) and a banana split. The website states the banana split is three scoop I paid full price and only got one scoop no sauce and three pieces of bananas. I'm so pissed off! When I said something to the girls nicely. They said that's what we charge and that's how we make the splits. I said that their website menu says something different. They rolled their eyes and walked away. Pictures below showing the banana split and the shitty waffle cone that leaked. Glad I asked for a cup
Super cute place in Augusta. Who doesn't love Lots of choices, but i will saythe way the windows are its hard to find the order windows. I ordered the PB lovers which was really good, and my daughter got the smores. Both big cones! Service was fast & friendly. Great spot! read more

Ok. I get dipping lobster and clams in butter. But ice cream?!?! But it totally works!!! When in Rome... I ordered the blueberry ice cream special. And there was a sign that said for a limited time, ask to dip your ice cream in butter. And as they say in Risky business, sometimes you just got to say WTF. It was SO good. The butter enhanced the flavors of the ice cream and the waffle cone. And after a while, the melted butter becomes solidified savory bites. Really unique experience. Oh and the server was really really nice. read more

This is our new favorite ice cream shop. They have excellent customer service, great ice cream, and good prices. They also recognized that we had a dog with us and gave us a pup-cup. I will happily return. read more
