This ice cream spot was in walking distance from our hotel. It had a wide variety of sweet items and it was reasonably priced and delish. I pretty much got the same thing each time we got, a peanut butter sundae with soft serve and it hit the spot every time. The service was quick and friendly, even with the long lines. There were plenty of tables to sit and enjoy your ice cream and the parking was plentiful if you needed to drive vs walk. The only issue - which isn't their fault - were the bugs. Just sitting at the table eating my ice cream, mosquitos ate up my ankles. Highly recommend this spot for a delicious sweet treat! read more

Imagine how "thrilled" we were to find out that their frequent buyer cards are no longer accepted. They stopped accepting them in June, so non-locals who summer up here can basically go screw themselves. We brought seven (7!) people with us tonight, which is when we learned that the cards have been phased out. WTH! Like getting one small cone after the 10th purchase is going to bankrupt them?! (This post is for management. No need to complain to the young girls busting their humps waiting on all of us.) read more

Larger portion for the price you pay. Close to $6. for a small dish, and barely a scoop and a half of ice cream.

Wow! Amazing ice cream experience! We've been to a number of places in the Raymond, Casco, Windham region. We used to love Mosquitos- but I think they have either new management or suppliers or both- not so great any more. The Dugout really came through for us! There were tons of people there - we started at maybe 15th in line and we were at the front in like four minutes - so fast service! Also great selection! I got vanilla soft serve with peanut butter topping and it was absolutely amazing. read more

I'm gonna make this a quick review, but I do want you to know this place was amazing! The employees were super sweet and really friendly. They were very fast as well but there wasn't a lot of people. The few people that were there were really enjoying it. The atmosphere in general was just comforting. I always go here when I'm getting my dog a pup cup. For me, they usually just put whipped cream and a dog treat on top, but sometimes they do vanilla ice cream, too. I wanna say this place is better than B&R dairy bar, but I can't compare! read more

This s a great ice cream joint in the Sebago Lakes Region. It is kid friendly with a lot of seating. No one in the family has ever had a flavor that they don't like. There is a ton of selection with all the favorites and some unique flavors. They have both hard and soft serve, so there is something for everyone. read more

I have been going to the dugout for years and every single time I have loved it, their choice of ice cream is great ( they have other stuff too) and they have a giant yard for kids to run around so this is 100% my go to ice cream spot read more

I love the ice cream!! But im a little worried about the sizes, im always getting the smallest size they have and it's always gigantic . lol Love the sitting outside I can bring my dogs and get them their puppies cup read more

Love ice cream sundae and treats for dogs! Great service and good ice cream! We have been going here for decades!

What's not to like about Ice Cream Dugout? It's your classic summer outdoor ice cream shack complete with an absurd number of ice cream flavors, a multitude of picnic tables and a big lawn to run around on. I had the Extreme Chocolate which was great. But let's be honest it's really about the location and experience. The ice cream here is made by Shain's of Maine which on the plus side is a relatively small local business. On the downside the ice cream is far from a high-end product. You can see the ingredient list in the ginger ice cream (the only ingredient list I could find a quick picture of online) is long and includes a number of stabilizers, preservatives and artificial sweeteners. read more

HUGE servings!!! I never thought I would say it but there was a bit too much cookie dough in the chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream. Summer ice cream shop outdoor atmosphere, lots of picnic tables, nice staff, plenty of parking and the place was packed so some folks clearly love it. I had lemon sorbet that seemed chunky like scraps from the bottom of the tub. Flavor was ok. Husband had a hot fudge sundae and somehow there was purple ice cream remnants in the middle and the whipped topping was watery. We both threw half or more of each away. Bummer. read more

Love this place!! Really wide variety of flavors, both hard and soft, as well as sherbet, homemade ice cream sandwiches, shakes, and everything else you can think of. If your family wants to share a treat they even have an 8 scoop banana split with two bananas, 8 toppings, and 8 cherries called The Curse of the Bambino. Oh yeah, everything on the menu is baseball themed but if you're a Yankee fan don't expect any love. Lol read more

I am a fan of soft service ice cream and try it wherever we travel. This is one of the best soft service ice cream I have ever had, and possibly the best that I have had. What separated this from other places was the flavor of the soft serve. I find that most soft service is only sublet in flavor, this on the other hand was full of flavor. It also had a very pleasant texture and creaminess. The serving size is also very generous. A single is as large as any medium at other ice cream shops. Enjoy! read more

So, listen - route 302 is a mess in the summer. It's hectic, it's busy, and everyone under the sun goes to 'The Dugout' for ice cream. Why? Because it's really good! Great portions, reasonable portions, kind, smiling faces. And those crowds? They have it down to a science. You can arrive in a long line, you won't be in it long. If you're in the lakes region you need to stop by and enjoy ice cream here! read more

They had grape nut ice cream!!! This is what we had growing up in Jamaica. Soooo coool to see it here. It was sooo yummy too.

The service is always super friendly. The ice cream is delicious and serving sizes are HUGE! It can be a cluster turning back out onto 302 but the ice cream is so worth it. Definitely get their waffle cones dipped in chocolate with Sprinkles. The seating is good and the grass area is helpful when bringing little ones that need to get some energy out. read more

Fun flavors and they give you a good amount. It's best when you can sit out and enjoy the weather

I come here frequently. The staff are professional, polite and work to get your order out quickly. Good service with good ice cream.

Ice Cream Dugout is a great local pit stop on the way to or from Sebago Lake in Maine. This is a stand alone establishment. Per their Menu - "Owned and operated by Troy and Tammy Locke. The Ice Cream Dugout was literally a dream Troy had back in 1997. That dream became a reality for the Locke;s on July 17th, 2003." They have a huge assortment of flavors and I couldn't make up my mind. I got a sugar cone with the standard chocolate flavor 2 scoops and a 3 scoop cup of Rum Raisin, Maine Tracks and Maine Survivor. Total cost for the large portions was exactly 8 bucks. Please note that this place is completely Pro-Boston Redsox to a point that their largest frappe is called "Yankees Suck!" which is super thick. Some of the items you may want to try straight from their menu: Apple Papelbon - A homemade cinnamon bun covered with hot apple topping, a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream with hot caramel, topped with whipped cream and garnished with cinnamon. Wally the Green Monster - Vanilla ice cream, choc. syrup, whip cream, green jimmies & M&M's. Teddy Ballgame - A scoop of ice cream, whip cream, Oreo cookie ears, two cherry eyes & a Reese's Pieces nose. They also carry an assortment of shakes, floats, freezes, frappes, Ice cream sodas and every other type of ice cream dessert. They carry 60 plus flavors a day. They also have television monitors that carry the baseball games when available. read more

Whenever I am on my way to or leaving Frye Island, my car just automatically turns into that driveway . This is an amazing little ice cream shop. Very well priced and a large menu of options to pick from. I had the frappe and it was think and delicious. Many local ice cream places do not accept card transactions so I was shocked and delighted to see that as a payment option. Quick service, tasty treats, low cost- you can't go wrong! read more

It seems a bit silly to write a rave review about a place with already such high ratings but I'll chime in anyway. This place is great and has become a favorite of my family's in the Sebago Lake region. Staff is friendly, the place is neat, the menu items varied and interesting including a long list of Shain's ice cream, a cute baseball theme with a strong Red Sox influence, and lovely places to sit outside including in a shaded section of the lawn. I highly recommend a stop here if you're in the Raymond area. read more

The Ice Cream Dugout has a cool concept - create menu items, which relate to the Boston Red Sox and name them after famous and beloved Red Sox players. Needless to say this place attracts lots of families and little league players as well as the locals who have been patronizing The Dugout for years. There are many flavors of ice cream (soft and hard) The Dugout offer; so many it is often hard to make a choice. The Dugout is seasonal (it's Maine after all) yet when they are open and it's a nice day plan on waiting in line. You can sit on picnic tables and enjoy your ice cream, which is a decided plus. One of the best places for ice cream in the state of Maine or anywhere else. Definitely a thumbs up. read more

Chocolate cookie dough ice cream was 75% cookie dough. The cookie dough clumps were so big and hard that they broke the spoon. When I gave a heads up to the cashier about the ice cream, I was just told that was how the ice cream came. Our family loves the Ice Cream Dugout! It's a clean family environment with delicious tasting ice cream. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. there's so many flavors to pick from and each one is just as delicious as the next! With that being said, their soft serve is to die for. It's my go to every time! All you have to do is pair the soft serve with one of their fresh baked waffle cones and you will be in heaven! Lastly, I will add that their prices are hands-down better than any other local ice cream establishment in the area! read more

Ice Cream Dugout is a great local classic Americana Ice Cream Parlor on you way to Sebago Lake in Maine. My husband and I always stop here when we vacation at Camp in the summer. This stand alone establishment is magical. You place your order in the dugout window and then either eat it at an available picnic bench or eat in your car and just stand around and enjoy. They have a variety of flavors to your hearts content. Fresh home-made waffle cones and sugar cones. Together with creative and neat titles to describe the ice cream creation that of course is all baseball inspired. Names like Yankees Suck or Teddy Ballgame or Maine Tracks.. I wish I grabbed a menu because I cant remember them all. This Mom & Pop shop is not even online is just goes to show how rare an store like this exists. And if am not mistaken they are only opened in the summer. Be prepared for a long line...but trust me..it's worth the wait! read more
