If the 90 minute seating rule was in effect, no one told us at the bar and we did not notice. Service was impeccable from the friendly bartenders. We decided to split the Dill Cream Roasted Beets ($21) and Citrus Miso Carrot Ribbons ($20) for appetizers. The beets were the clear winner, served warm, and I only wish I ordered the Focaccia ($11) to dip in the irresistible sour cream and dill sauce. The Duck Ragu ($46) entree was huge and we enjoyed, though the pappardelle noodles were over a foot long. I considered Lady and the Tramping it but was overruled. The special Apple Crisp dessert with ice cream was a perfect early fall dessert. So, why 4 stars? The prices here are extreme. Appetizers are in the $20's, entrees in the $40's and the cheapest glass of wine on the menu is $14. I always pose this question: Can I eat at Scales for cheaper? When the answer is "yes," then I'd rather just go to Scales. And Yolked is easily more expensive than Scales, even if you only get a burger. Also, it's extremely, exceptionally loud. That's not a big problem for me, but something to keep in mind. Overall, Yolked is by far the best restaurant in the area. It's a stylish spot with very good food. Just make sure your credit card gives extra points for dining.

It was sooooo good. Of course we bought the bag of coffee (it is Benbow's from Maine). They sell lots of Maine Maple goodies. Maple syrup (obvi) but they have a specialty bourbon barrel version as well that makes a nice gift. Their Maple whoopie pie is prob one of my Top 3 fave whoopies in Maine. We bought other goodies..maple cotton candy, maple fudge (which youcan freeze), maple taffy, maple cream and wax dipped cheeses. All the little stands took cards. During busy events they had local police stopping traffic for you to pull out and direct where to park. They also had 2 Porta potties on site.

We order one large pizza, one child's small pizza, one small lobster roll, one Reuben, and an antipasto salad. Drinks: two beers, two virgin marys, two child's Pepsis, and a ginger ale. Our order came out in one hour and ten minutes. Seventy minutes. As much as I could, I saw the kitchen as the problem. The waitresses hustled; they were on a dead run. But their duties were split; one seated new parties and waited table as well. Another, ours, admitted she had been pulled into the kitchen to assist in plating. As well, the kitchen must deal with takeout orders, which on a Saturday, are many. So the blame must be the management. The only solution should be to stay away- vote with our feet- go elsewhere, until management feels the loss of income and corrects the situation. When the word is out, that Pat's decides on the family restaurant model and not a beer hall, we will return. And not before.

So we got a pizza last week and I'll admit, it was pretty good. I lived in NYC and went to New Haven several times and had all of the famous "Apizza" at Sally's, Modern, etc. this was a close. Then I followed them on Facebook, and see them post every day, early in the day, that they're sold out, and act like that's an achievement? I don't know, it bugged me. Then I come on here and see that whoever is representing them thinks that it's a good idea to say wild, immature stuff to people that leave reviews. Whoever this is is out there. My Wife then went in again and the guy running the place said he recognized her from Facebook and she "should go get a pizza from Dominos" and to get out. Unbelievable. Truly. I got degraded and yelled at by what I could only hope or anticipate was the owner being drunk, but I have no way of knowing. All that happened is that they announced that they were sold out, which they do every day. Today it was at 4:00 on a Friday and I very innocuously said that that was a bummer because my family and I were about to come in. We've been so excited to try it. I then got private messages sent to me (after I got blocked) saying extremely unnecessary and rude things about me. I don't know these people! All I wanted was a pizza. The person who runs the FB page is full of drama. If anyone puts a review of this establishment and the owner doesn't agree, he posts your information and bullies anyone who goes against him. He blocked me from my opinion because he called a customer who didn't like his pizza a CLOWN. All while pooping this person's infection. Not worth the hype. We went in one night and the girl told us they just sold out, and it was quarter after 3 in the afternoon. We ended up getting 2 pizzas a few days later, and they're okay. They are very greasy, thin, the edges were all burned black. I'll never go back. The prices are too high for the lack of quality. read more
