He handed me a bill of $475 plus tax! He said his worker noticed the brakes needed work and they went ahead and did it. I told him I agreed to get 4 tires replaced for $200 and did not authorize for him to do any additional work, therefore that I was not going to pay for the brakes. He threatened that he will call the police if I didn't pay and that he will keep the car until I paid the full $475 plus tax. He also tried to appeal to pity by saying that he needed to pay his workers. He admitted that his worker was wrong and should've asked before fixing it. But since work was done that he will lose money if he charged me $200. I tried to negotiate with him to give me a discount or meet me in the middle but he wouldn't budge. So I ended up paying the full amount, but decided to not ever step a foot in his garage!

I asked why no one called me and they apologized and said they were busy. I brought my vehicle back to the Subaru dealer to complete the state inspection. The car failed again and to quote the auto service repair technician, "I don't know how they could miss these additional holes as they are obvious." They marked the locations of the holes and I returned to Meineke again to have the holes in the exhaust fixed. Meineke offered no discount and really didn't seem to care that they messed up. My vehicle passed inspection but the Subaru dealer noted that Meineke welded the entire exhaust system together. The original exhaust comes in four separate sections so you can replace just one section if it wears out. So Meineke did poor quality work and didn't own up to the issues they caused.
