Dr Tait was examining my eye and something hit my eye and I turned my head away. 9-1-21 Checkup - My eye doesn't better and I was told it will take 3-5 weeks to heal. 9-8-21 Checkup - No improvement. I asked Dr Tait if he thought it was because when something hit my eye. He said no. 9-15-21 no improvement. 9-22-21 Dr Tait said your eye is healed. I had some questions. After the office visit and for anyone new, please do not provide any issues unless absolutely necessary, cause they run with it. Had my exam, the dilation lasted about 6 hours after my visit, I had dr Connolly - he was exceptional in diagnosing my cataracts which to me are not that severe yet. However --- for everyone who has a cataract, their strong recommendation is for surgery and doing it as soon as possible. After our exam and prescriptions were provided, they sent us over to an area to schedule our surgery, unknown to us. We were just looking for information about it. First of all, I have been to 2 other doctor offices for my eyes, none pushed surgery, but this place does, there were people ahead of us and after us. The woman who schedules the surgery was very pushy and that to me is unacceptable. So while the staff was very friendly (with the exception of the woman who schedules the surgery) and the exam was exceptional, I had to lower my rating from a 4 star to a 3 since the surgery part was pushed. We are not getting any surgery at this time.

It's hard to find a good eye doctor when you have an astigmatism and other eye issues, at least in my experience but this place was fantastic. They can get you in quickly. Everyone is so nice, it's clean and I have not seen this well out of a prescription in years!!!!!! If you need an eye dr this is the place to go!!!

I would think twice before going to Kensington Ophthalmology. Went in for a routine eye exam and…read morethey changed it to a medical exam without my knowledge. Thus the vision insurance would not pay for it. They took it upon themselves to pull an old medical insurance card that they had on file for me from many years ago. Ended up having to pay everything out of pocket. They also charged me additional money to get a written eye prescription. The lady who does the billing is extremely rude. I had a very hard time getting her to send me an actual bill. She just kept calling and harassing me at work. It's been over four months. I had to finally make a trip up there and just pay the money. I will NEVER go back here again.

I was disappointed that the appointment quickly shifted into a heavy push for scheduling cataract surgery. Because I do not have any visual impairments or symptoms related to cataracts at this time, this aggressive recommendation felt inappropriate and mismatched with my medical needs. I felt channeled toward an elective surgery rather than receiving focused care for the acute issues I brought up."

I would not refer my worst enemy to Specialty Eye Institute…read more To begin, Dr. Sinsoli himself, as an opthamologist, is fine. He is simply confined as a surgeon in a multi location, huge corporate practice whose only interest is "MONEY", notcwuality oatirnt care. I started in Ann Arbor at that location for treatment of eye cataracts, but was never told until after a couple of appointments that my surgery was not in Ann Arbor Michigan, but in Jackson, 90 minute drive from my house. The first day of surgery, I was told the surgical center in Jackson had 42 cataract surgeries that day, I felt like a hunk of meat on a conveyor belt. Took 3.5 hours for my surgery to be completed. The staff put 8 drops in my eye, 5 times waiting and waiting and waiting for surgery. The moment I came out of anesthesia they had me sit up, put my legs over the bed and get into a wheel chair. The staff was wheeling me out to my car 5 minutes after I woke up, with a drink in my hands. They needed the bed for the rest of the meat on the conveyor belt. Second eye was done 5 weeks later, sad that I had to wait that long for second cataract surgery. Three days after surgery, my recently repaired eye and eye lid got infected, warm and swollen. I sent a note over the patient portal and the office called me to tell me to seek treatment with my optometrist, who would handle any issues from there on out. Dr. Sinsoli would not see me. I treated with my optometrist for 2 weeks before they finally gave up, with little improvement of my infection and sent me to a totally different opthamologist for treatment. He treated me with a steroid injection into my infected eyelid which helped somewhat along with oral antibiotics, steroid drops, warm compresses and antibiotic ointments. Two months later, the infection which never totally went away came back, a call to Dr. Sinsoli's office proved useless, they could not see me for two months. I was told to seek treatment elsewhere and bring my treatment notes to my visit, 2 months away. Back to a different opthamologist who treated me again. Finally, after 2 months, saw Dr. Sinsoli who apologized profusely and gave ne a second steroid injection into my affected eyelid. Again, Specialty Eye Instiute is all about Money, not patient care. Five months (post surgery), my eye is getting back to normal. Do not, and I mean Do not seek treatment from Specialty Eye Institute. Find an office that is caring and puts your health and well being paramont over Money. Not one of my maby, maby friends, who had cataract surgery ever had to live through my nightmare.
