This is a great spot. It was our first visit! They were not having the best night when we stopped in since both their regular cook and back up cook were out. But we still enjoyed our meals, knowing prepping steaks was a little harder to get perfect under the circumstances-- but we went for it anyway. We got the 12-oz strip steak dinners, medium-rare. The steak was great. It came with a salad, rolls, choice of potato and a vegetable. All for $18! The inside is really nice and super-clean.... much bigger inside than we expected. The staff was friendly. We had good cocktails too. Given how little there is to choose from in this general area and what is around isn't often much beyond a diner-- this place is fabulous! We will definitely go back since we'd love to try it when the regular cook is there. Update: went back on 9/27 and it was great. We both enjoyed great Italian dishes-- chicken parm and lasagna. Anything with pasta seems to come with about a box of pasta so be prepared for a huge portion! read more

Great Italian seafood joint in the sticks. Ordered the clams casino, had such a great taste to it. Also the chicken parm is a force to be reckoned with. It is going to take me at least 3 days to finish my left overs. Love the huge portions here. Only down side very slow pace, but some people like that. read more

This is the worst food and service I've ever has. I ordered Chesapeake Haddock. We waited TWO hours for the food to come out. The crab "Patties" they used were burnt to BLACK!!! Totally uneatable. The person next to us ordered shrimp cocktail. They put it on the grill because the shrimp was NOT cold. Theynsaid it would take at least another half hour to chill the shrimp. WTH!! Total health issue! Shrimp should ALWAYS be kept cold!!! This place is a health hazard. RUN!!! read more

I think this place is okay. In New York (where I live I'd give it a 3 star rating ) but for this town it's honestly pretty good. They do have so good homemade food. Ribs are great. Service wasn't where we'd love it to be.. very long wait for everything even to get a refill. Salad and salad dressing ... noooot recommending at all. But some other food is good read more

Not sure why the rating here is what it is except to say it must be mostly local folks. You would never drive a distance to come here to dine and it is mostly local people because in this area there is very limited choices. The staff is friendly enough but the food is "meh" at best. Came here 3 times now, simply because the group of friends we were with didn't want to drive far. We came on a night that had a lobster tail special, got there at 5:30 and they were out!! So, disappointed, but hungry, we ordered a few other things. Some appetizers, calamari and coconut shrimp. They were over fried and served cold. One special, seafood cakes, again were way over fried ,as though they had been fried once, then a second time before serving. The outside was hard as a rock and almost inedible. Baked potatoes served with other dinners served in tin foil, which steams the potato and changes the texture and flavor of the potato. Not good. I have heard other local people continue to go here frequently as they have low expectations, so for what its worth, carry on, but not for us. read more

The 4th time we went for dinner and the same old thing. "The kitchen is way behind and it's going to be awhile", quite a shame because the food is quite good. When you feel sorry for the wait staff, the bartender and the owner because of the constant apologies the food takes a back seat. By the time your meal comes to the table, all your thinking about is to eat it and get out of there. 2 hour wait is unacceptable, especially when there is no music, no entertainment but there are plenty of bar flies wooping it up because they drank too much waiting for their food. The only reason we are not going back? Service, service, service. If this place was on Bar Rescue, the man would tell the owner not to wait the tables, don't bus the tables and don't apologize for your management problems. She keeps telling everyone that her staff keeps quitting. I am guessing she doesn't pay enough. My suggestion is to only take reservations and serve less tables until they get their crap togerher. I predict closure within a year if things don't. Jess is a good bartender but she needs product to work with, a poorly stocked bar won't make money. read more

I love this place!!! Thursday nights is clam night, and they are so good! Everything I've had I've enjoyed (pasta, wings, burgers, steaks, drinks, etc) Very nice atmosphere, friendly staff, and a homey feeling! Saturday night was our first trip to Brian & Missy's Main Street Bar & Grill and it will not be our last. Eight of us came in for a 49th wedding anniversary dinner not know quite what to expect. We arrived at 6:00 with a reservation and were seated right away. The place was small and had a small town bar charm about it with locals coming in and saying their hellos to the staff. Drinks were ordered and brought over to the table, my lager, in an ice cold mug. We each ordered appetizers, soup and dinners. Seeing one of my favorite apps on the menu I had to order the fried pickles which were dill pickle spears battered and deep fried. They were delicious, hot and crisp. Next I tried the French onion soup which also came out nice and hot with broiled mozzarella on top and lots of onions and croutons below. A nice sized house salad with a Caesar dressing on the side came out next and was the perfect lead for my main entree. I had ordered one of the nightly specials, the broiled seafood plate with a seafood cake, scallops and shrimp, it also came out nice and hot. Cold food being served is a big turn-off for me at a restaurant and Main Street kept it hot. My seven other dining companions all thoroughly enjoyed their food which included Filet mignons, Lobster tails, Crab-meat stuffed haddock and Pork chops. My wife and I shared a Crème brûlée for dessert which was very yummy. Main Street gets 8 thumbs up from us and we will definitely be coming back. Our first trip to Main Street was the highlight of our trip back home...living in a "Foodie" town like Pittsburgh along with having a strong culinary background it takes a lot to impress me! But Main Street did it...our dinners were delicious and prepared to perfection...the waiter was cordial and well versed on menu items. What lucky girls we are to have found a full service bar and dinner place on our way to Ricketts Glen. My sisters and I decided we ought to do more things together and hiking around the waterfalls seemed like a good beginning. We just needed a great meal and we found here at Main Street Bar. I had the calf's liver, bacon and onions. It was tender and very flavorful. Sides were fresh and delicious. One sister got catfish and the other a rack of lamb. Both raved about their meals. Staff were knowledgable and very accommodating with special requests. We sat at the bar because the place filled up with people who had reservations as it was a Friday evening. We left to find our bed and breakfast on the other side of the mountain.... Cherry Mill Lodge. It is good to be an American no matter what. read more
