Hello foodmaniacs! Today's video was unexpected, I am at CrisNics in South Wilkes-Barre. This is an Irish Pub. Now I heard the local talk of this establishment was having some real, delicious food. So, you know when the chance arose, I was there. No because it was unexpected this is a short video showing off my dinner, the meatloaf dinner. With this particular dinner you have your choice of potato, my choice was their fresh cut homemade fries, yep, I added the gravy. This was very succulent. baked to perfection, you tasted the seasonings, the gravy. The appetizer was the nacho cheese platter where the chips were toasted, and the cheese gave it that extra flavor. I did have their soup which I forgot the name, sorry, but OMG this was also very delicious, we will be back. From service to the food 5 out of 5! Visited here for the first time in 10 years! The place hasn't changed much. Food is good, beer is cold and many people seem to know each other. Great size bar. A lot of parking around back. Nice patio for the warmer weather. Service was great and bartender was friendly. Didn't go long with an empty glass--that's what matters!! read more

The food here is generally good. They have a decent Irish selection. Their Sheppard's Pie is good along with their pierogies. I would give it 4 stars, but due to 2 incidents, i had to drop it. One time, we got a fly cooked into our fish. We decided to give it a few more chances, and they burnt our fries... twice. When I opened the second batch in front of the worker, they told me it "just looked burnt" and that they tasted it and was fine. I learned it was a lost cause and just left dissatisfied. I really like the taste of the food here, but the quality control is not good. read more

Absolutely amazing.!!! Staff is so sweet (they remember what you're drinking, lol) The chef Claude is OUTSTANDING. You can taste the talent in his food. If he's not here, honestly I drink and might order wings. But when he's there pasta, burgers, fries absolutely ANYTHING will be delicious. The owner takes the time to say "hello ". The clientele are awesome always. Great for family and definitely girls night and even "date night ". read more

My girlfriend ordered me the Dublin cobbler and I'll tell you what it was the smallest portion of meats I've ever seen in a dish ever The entire portion was mostly potatoes and for how much it was there was an a lot of anything so I would highly recommend that to get this Dish ever read more

CrisNic's very poor take-out dinner experience AGAIN. Ordered via telephone and was rushed through my order then hung up on before finishing my order. When I came to get my order I was shorted on the dinners. I did not receive a vegetable as ordered. IF by chance the vegetable wasn't available at the time my order was processed I should have got an alternate in place of what I agreed to. The kitchen needs to keep the wait staff up to speed on what's available and ensure that the customer gets their THREE items of the dinner. Also a better job needs to be done putting the food in the clamshell so it's not all slopped together, suggest getting divided trays for the dinners. read more

Stopped in this Irish Bar for a cold bottle of Budweiser, I did not eat so can't comment on the food . But the place ,people at bar and barmaid were very nice .Stereo system was great. Just sat there happy as a lark singing and enjoying my Budweiser in the bottle. read more

I love the vibe, it's very comfortable and family oriented, I love their tiki bar area because I temporarily feel like I'm at the beach. The people there are WONDERFUL and very kind especially knowing that my husband and I are Deaf. The food is absolutely amazing and I miss the mozzarella sticks because I have not been to crisnics in a while. But whatever you are doing, it's working! read more

We frequent CrisNics every couple of weeks. The food is great. I highly suggest going on Seafood night, Tuesday. The lobster special is well worth it. They have a very friendly and attentive staff. We always see people we know. read more

Good corner bar with lots of space and outdoor patio. Pizza is your typical regional bar pie nothing special but does the job. My first time there was a good experience and had no complaints with the pizza. My second time was odd to say the least. Person I was with ordered their breaded chicken sandwich and, get this, it was literally a chicken patty on two pieces of dry toast. Lol what? Im not on some weird diet or homeless looking for whatever you can spare. So I digress. I ask the waitress what this is and she told me we didn't order anything with it. So I'm supposed to assume it comes with nothing but bread to hold it with? She takes it back and they throw like four shredded particles of wilted ice berg and the most pathetic tomato slice ever and forgot the mayo. At that point we just ordered something else because this was not appetizing at all. All good until I get my bill and it wasn't comped despite not even having taken a bite from it. I took it up with the waitress and it seemed like she had to have a board meeting and decision on the matter to get my refund on the item in question. Bizarre to say the least. It felt like we were the weird ones in this matter. I'm not trying to blame or fault anyone here but maybe get that off your menu. To say it lacked inspiration would be an understatement. Food here is good overall we order it to go on a fairly regular basis. Decent selection and they do have some Irish selections.

Excellent food! I have never had the chance to sit down and eat here, so i'm not sure about the service, but I do know that every time I call for takeout and it's not a Thursday and I ask for the Thursday specials, they always make it for me anyway and I really appreciate that. read more

I wouldn't waste my time again. The wait staff was obviously undertrained on the menu. For an Irish themed restaurant with Corned Beef and Cabbage on the menu, I was told that they were only open for two weeks and they didn't get it in yet. It's really piss poor planning when you've been open for two weeks and its a Friday night dinner service and you don't have a signature item on the menu. I ended up ordering a steak medium rare, to which I received a well done NY Strip. The waitress then proceeded to tell me she heard me say medium well and showed me the receipt where she wrote medium well, but never repeated the order back to us to make sure she got it right. When I return the meal and asked them to get it right, I was told that a new steak would take 25 minutes to prepare. This was in addition to the 45 minutes it took to get the food to us. WHERE THE HELL DOES A NEW STEAK TAKE 25 MINUTES TO PREPARE??? At this point I told them to forget about it, but the staff refused to drop the issue and tried to justify their mistake by telling me that they heard me say medium well... I don't care what they thought they heard me say, just make my food right. That's all I ever wanted. Major fail on the part of Cris Nics. I will NOT be recommending is restaurant to anyone until major changes are made to the way service is run there. Your customers are first, not why you made the mistake. Learn from this and hopefully the next few reviews will get better. read more

I stop by this place after work for drinks sometimes. Bartenders are great - attentive and great personalities. I've only ever had bar snacks - chicken fingers, pizza etc - but what I've had was decent. Prices are EXTREMELY reasonable. Very nice little neighborhood bar. read more

Totally disappointed with today's experience. Went for their "wing night". Ordered a dozen wings, "drums only", for a extra buck. What came out was a mix of drums and flappers which as the bartender/server said, she didnt bother to look. That wasnt the worse part, she agreed to adjust the bill but after my guest and I actually looked at the wings, they appeared to have a weird breading and look to them. The answer from the bartender/server was, they aren't breaded but look breaded. They are frozen not fresh and she also prefers hers fresh but this is how they are.. After my friend and I bit into the wing, the taste was not good and we knew immediately we would not be able to finish them. As soon as bartender/server came back to the bar we said we cant eat this and asked if it can be removed from the bill. Answer was , "no I'm not allowed". So ended up with a box of inedible wings and out a few bucks for the wings. We did order a beer each and fries with the wings, which I was happy to pay for. But it certainly wasnt like we ate half then complained. My friend even asked if boneless bites could be substituted for the cost. Again, no. Last time at cris nics. read more

Cozy place, good service, and great food, what more could you want? Appetizers came out quickly and they were quite hot, which is always a bonus. The rest of our food came in a bit later, but they were all very delicious too! Great fries, great pizza, and great wings, nothing that tasted frozen or anything. Great time there, the bar was filled and busy but the bartenders never let our drinks get empty. Food was great, the wing bites were better than some other local favorites . Priced right, great service, and plenty of seating at the bar...also they have keno always a plus. read more

The waitresses were very friendly and very patient. We had a large group and arrived slightly before they opened. I'm not sure if it should be classified as an Irish Pub. The only thing that seemed Irish was they had Guiness on draft. Good bar/pub food. read more

First timer, so only four stars. Totally Irish! Sunday afternoon is quiet. Ordered cheeseburgers and brews at the bar. Bartender friendly and attentive. Burger was really good. Ordered well done, no pink, and it still came out juicy...cheers to the chef:-). Nice big horseshoe bar. Outside patio looks great, have to check that out next time. Food was alright, nothing to brag about! Menu is mediocre at best, more of a pizza/wing bar food menu than what it used to be when it was formerly known as The Barney Inn. Don't get me wrong they do offer seafood and a few other more formal dinner items but most emphasis is on bar food. The biggest complaint that I have is the restrooms. The only one that I was aware of is off of the large bar area, and it accommodates only one person at a time!! This is not a good thing if/ when there is a large crowd of people there. If you are going for drinks and comrodery and a light bar meal this is your place, if you are looking for a nice dinner place look elsewhere. Also, marketed as a Irish pub, only thing is I don't recall seeing corned beef / ham & cabbage or Sheppard's pie on the menu at all. Apparently, having green lights hanging around the perimeter of the dining room and pictures of the fighting Irish mascot makes it a Irish pub! read more
