Where to start?? Took the grandchildren there that are 4 years old. The customer service where you enter was horrific. They were not pleasant at all! No one explained where anything was or directed us to things. Pricing in my opinion is a bit high especially for the very few things to do there. They have a nice corn maze but, it's not for their ages really. The attractions they have there are very outdated and for the price they charge they could use it to do a few upgrades. It's been over 9 years since I've been there and it's definitely gone down hill from then and uphill on that cost. Though have to say their restrooms outside were more up to date than the environment there for sure. If I was pricing things I would have it as follows Adults ages 13 and up $15 Ages 5-12 $8-10 and 3-5 $5 and 3 and under Free. That's just my opinion for the attractions. But as you see in pictures I have sign of pricing from there. And last note we had to put our own wristbands on so we could've just walked in and said we lost them in maze if we wanted to do that but we didn't but that shows how much the people pay attention at the point of entrance. And as for a petting zoo there that's a few ducks and one goat. And no food to feed them as those machines had a post it note on it stating "Out of Order!" So, to say we will be back is more towards the NO unless they were to update things and that's update it a lot. read more

I came for the corn maze on a Sunday morning. It was bigger than I expected. It took us about 30 min to get out because we got lost once. You know you're getting into a new section by the color of the fence. Your shoes can get muddy and wet due to the morning dew. After finishing the adult version, we also did the kid's version. read more

After all the positive things I had heard about Ard's, and after seeing the location on Channel 16 (Pulled Pork review), I must say, I was quite disappointed. Although the atmosphere was very relaxing and the staff was very friendly, the buffet left me with a very disappointed feeling about this location. The fish was "rubbery" and the stuffed chicken was extremely dry. I would strongly suggest ordering from the menu and staying away from the buffet. I had a strong sense that the potato salad was commercially prepared and not from "scratch." Other dinners from the menu appeared yo be well received by the customers and appeared to be the primary focus of the chef. I would suggest to focus more on the freshness of the buffet items and perhaps "cycle-out" food items that have been left on the buffet for extended periods of time to ensure better taste. Pretty good. Could improve on a few things. I had the pulled pork and cornbread "bowl" and it was HUGE!! Like feed 2+ ppl huge! BF had half rack ribs with asparagus and fries. BOTH meals came with the "salad" bar that also had mac and cheese, bacon wrapped pork, beans, mashed potatoes, gravy and corn, along with a full salad bar AND dessert. Needless to say it was A LOT of food! Mac and cheese was mushy and tasteless, corn was dry, beans were good as was salad. We have been here a couple times now. A couple years ago, they changed their menus, and it's a bit "fancier" now and a little bit higher priced. The staff is friendly, and helpful. The food is delicious, although, I get the same thing every time. Ha! The smoked bacon meatloaf is the tastiest. Although, they used to give you little scoops of meatloaf, and now it's one giant ball. I think you actually get more now that it's bigger, but I had to ask for more bbq sauce, because there just wasn't enough. I also enjoy the pulled pork Mac n cheese. They had both on the bar tonight, so I made my own...since I was deciding on that and the meatloaf (I love both so much). The pulled pork Mac n cheese, is to die for!!! Get it! I love that my drink comes in a cute little mason jar. The overall atmosphere is very friendly and welcoming. We enjoy walking around the market. They off a great selection of local items for sale. Really good BBQ, especially given the dearth of other good dining options in the area. Delicious brisket, ribs, pulled pork sandwiches, cornbread and baked beans. Brisket was thinly sliced and had a nice smoky flavor. The ribs were tasty but a bit dry. Service was friendly and we will happily return. As an aside, Ard's is actually three places in one. There is an outside BBQ area (where we visited), an inside restaurant serving the BBQ and other things like burgers, and a store inside with produce, chocolates, potato chips, baked goods, and other treats to take home. read more

This place is amazing. All food is fresh. After you eat you can hop over to their market and buy freshly grown veggies from their personal farm. We have been to dinner at Ard's three times now and the food has been excellent every time. I always get the sweet mint iced tea when I go, it's wonderful. My favorite dish so far has been the fish sticks. The fish is nice and crispy on the outside, but moist on the inside. The coleslaw has a very mild but good flavor-- not too bitey -- and the cabbage was very crispy. If you're a vegetarian, you do have options. One I've tried is the mushroom ravioli and it was very tasty. My husband has had the Montana sandwich and the pulled pork quesadilla. Both were very good and the pulled pork is very moist. The farm bar also has a lot of great options and everything seems to be fresh even at off times. This has become our new favorite restaurant. read more

It normally takes me a while to write a poor review, but today was the last straw. My family has enjoyed several meals at Ard's, but recently the customer service has been so awful. It started with making the reservation over the phone where the hostess was incredibly short with her answers. Once we got there, many waitresses were standing around at the front desk just talking to one another and never welcomed us, just told us that we'd be seated once the rest of our party arrived. Our waitress was unfriendly, never asked if we needed anything during the meal, and acted inconvenienced when I asked if there was GF bread. The meal was okay, but definitely not as good as it has been in the past. I'd hate to see this place go down hill as we have enjoyed it for many years! read more

Since the last time I visited (almost a year ago) the restaurant has undergone a remodel with menu changes. The casual cookout vibe is gone, replaced by more of an upscale feel (Central PA upscale). Prices have also increased, although I feel so has the selection. I had a Portobello burger which was tasty, along with homemade chips. My lunch buds had the regular beef burger and the French dip sandwich along with fries. Everyone was satisfied with their meals. The beet burger was ok. It would have been a healthy dish if it hadn't been served with potato chips. Potato chips are full of oil and advanced glicaton end products. The restaurant area was inhabited by a bunch of flies which bugged me greatly. The best thing about the meal was the gluten free bun that the beet burger came on. The prices are too high for what you get, and the portions of the appetizers and deserts are obviously intended for fat Americans, of which there are loads in PA. Several of the dishes that were marked with a v were not vegan at all. They need to step up their knowledge of nutrition if they are going to pretend to be a healthy eatery. read more

I've been here about 5-7 times for either dinner, lunch, or breakfast. The inside dinning area was recently remodeled and definitely makes the area look better. Atmosphere/Location: Country setting with lots of nature to view from outside. The inside building itself has a pleasing yet professional look. The location being just outside of Lewisburg is great for those people that want to escape town and get away from the crowded dining places. The inside also showcases many eats such as snacks, homemade items, and a deli. Some simple produce is also available. Food/Pricing: The food has improved over the first time I came here. I do believe they have a new chef to thank for that. Some items are still..meh, but overall the food generally has pleasing flavors. Some prices are completely outrageous for what they're offering. There's several sandwiches/subs that are $15+ tax. I don't mind paying for great good quality food but it's just not there yet. Breakfast offers a buffet at a decent price though. The buffet itself can sometimes seem alarming. They do need new buffet system that doesn't require lids on everyone item. One has a hard time holding their plate and removing a lid and scooping food onto their plate and then placing the lid back on. Customer service: Generally always pleasing and friendly. They normally offer assistance and you're seating and served promptly. Overall: Decent taste, great customer service, pricing various but mostly a good deal. Country home cooked style meals. Great family restaurant. Newly renovated. Kids 5 and under eat free. We enjoy the farm bar and for a dollar more you can get a half rack of ribs. We have been visiting Allen and Kyle Ard's place since it was a fruit and vegetable stand along side US 45 between Lewisburg and Mifflinburg. They first put a roof over the stand, then built a grocery store off the road, and added a country restaurant to that. They have been growing for at least 35 years. Most of the reviews here are about the country diner, which had low-cost Pennsylvania Dutch home-cooking. The one exception was the pulled pork and barbecue, which was as good as any I have ever had. (I'm from eastern North Carolina and my wife and I bought plain pulled pork from Ard's for years and added out own North Carolina sauce.) Diners felt comfortable in their dirty jeans and overalls. In 2016, however, this restaurant had a complete make-over. They have a lounge with modern couch and chairs in the passage way between the restaurant and store. The interior is up-scale, modern with oak tables, cloth napkins, silver and crystal salt and pepper grinders, and flowers on each table. Each table has a crystal water pitcher filled with iced water. Ard's now is open for lunch and dinner Tuesday through Saturday, breakfast Friday, Saturday, and and Sunday from 8 am-11am, and for brunch 11 am-3pm Sunday. The diners are even up-scale: few even wear jeans now and, if so, the jeans are clean. It offers a Sunday brunch with breakfast and lunch items. The menu is totally different from the country diner. It has a permanent food buffet with a simple meat fare and a large salad bar: 3 types of cheese, pans of three different kinds of greens, boiled shrimp, boiled and pickled eggs. $5 extra for lunch; i suspect it comes free with the dinner meal. Today My wife chose the tuna salad. I came with perfectly cooked tuna laid across a bed of mixed salad (no iceberg lettuce). The tuna, which came with a wasabi sauce, was perfectly cooked: baked tuna on the outside, sushi on the inside. The salad contained Japanese radishes along with three identifiable sorts of greens. I had filet mignon hoagie: thinly sliced filet plus onions and mushrooms, covered with a saucy cheese sauce that was delicious. It came with home-made salt-free potato chips. Since I'm on a salt-free diet, they exceeded delicious. By the way, their country playground is still out back. A half-buried tractor for kids to play on, a large tube they can roll around in, half buried tractor tires, swings, and goats the kids can feed. Came here before a college tour and VERY GLAD we went a little out of the way for it. For $10 had the soup/salad/dessert bar and the beef vegetable soup was outstanding. Ard's is a great place for family fun when they have events like the corm maze and different events throughout the year. Also, a good place to buy fresh local produce as well as Ard's own cheeses and other products made locally, i.e, candies, pickles, and other canned PA dutch type products. Prices are comparable to any place else and the staff is very friendly. I would have been 5 stars except for the following: Their restaurant , on the other hand, is a hit or miss venture. I had a vegetable omelet today with home-fries, because the last time I had a breakfast here, I got the same thing and it was good. The veggies in the omelet were grilled, as were the home-fries and were coated with oil, making the omelet only barley passable to eat. I removed most of the veggies because of the oil. I did tell the waitress and she apologized and offered me a fruit cup in place of the home-fries. "No thanks", I said, but she did reduce the bill by 20%. My wife had the breakfast buffet, which she thought was very good. She did not eat any home-fries, but got me a taste from the bar, which were just as oil soaked as mine from the kitchen. I had their barbecued chicken one time. It was the last available order and it was very dry. Perhaps that was because it was the last order, but it should have never seen a plate. I have eaten here three or four times before and have come to the conclusion that it is just hit or miss. I have not had a bad sandwich or salad. Also be sure to check out the salad bar before you order it, it sometimes just does not look as fresh as it should be. read more

There is an awesome market inside with pretty much everything you could want from fresh meat to flowers to peanuts to wine. The restaurant area is beautiful and comfortable. This place is amazing! Came here for dinner one night after a swim meet (we are from out of town), and I loved the rustic atmosphere of the remodeled dining area, cute market with lots of homemade goodies, and great food and service all around. I had the pulled pork quesadillas (which were a tiny bit greasy but overall delicious) and the shrimp appetizer. Loved the bottomless sweet tea, it was refilled every time before I even had a chance to ask. Alan Ard and his step-son (the chef, Justin) gave us personalized service and even brought in a large piece of pork shoulder that wasn't on the menu for us to try. Answered all of our questions with pleasure and sat talking with us - great conversation and company. Awesome how the entrees come with all you can eat farm bar. I had cornbread and baked beans, and made my own salad. A lot of food for a hungry swimmer, and it all tasted great! For our entrees we chose the salmon and beef brisket and both were delicious! The sides we chose were green beans almondine, smoked mac and cheese, honey cinnamon carrots, and roasted potatoes and everything was amazing. Everything was fantastic and our guests raved about the food. We brought in some outside desserts and also had Ard's bring some whoopee pies and Ard's even put the desserts out for us.
