Stopped at Sally's while passing through on our way home. First impression? A true local dive bar. But once inside, you quickly realize it's a well-loved hometown restaurant with a lot of charm. There was a table of eight ladies in the back playing Pinochle and a group of locals at the bar enjoying fresh-made pizza. Our server was very attentive and the owner checked in on each table. The inside is decorated very cute, and the views of the countryside are beautiful. The menu is small and diner-like, but it offers a nice variety. I had the roast beef sandwich -- simple, but the meat was very good. I also had a side of coleslaw that tasted freshly made with no preservatives. The only downside for me was that they did not have fresh brewed iced tea, so I stuck with the water I brought in. If you are ever passing through, I would definitely recommend stopping in for a meal. read more

The Patty melt is absolutely delicious. The service is friendly. The atmosphere is unique! I wasn't a fan of the french fries because I do not like fries with skin and the cheese and gravy were not hot enough for my liking, but the flavor was fine. read more

Absolutely the best place to eat in the entire area. Try the French onion soup for sure! It's always my appetizer.

Waited a while for the waitress to come take our order and acknowledge that we were there but the food was excellent!

I'm not from the area, but travel through here for work from time-to-time. I had dinner with a friend and we had a brand new waitress the other night...... She did a great job. Portions were large, the beer was cold, and the weather was beautiful on the deck. read more

What more could we ask for considering the homemade feast that employed all of our keenest senses? Angelo provided the most attentive service, with efficiency par excellence. Folk artsy decor surrounded us, while windows opened into rural infinite pleasure, including evergreens competing for sky rule over a majestic silo. It was hard for us to separate ourselves from this lovely daydream-like event! We will return, as Sally and team knows how to bring joy to a meal each time. What an awful experience here. The service was absolutely atrocious, the supposed new owner is stumbling around and absolutely stunk of booze, it certainly isn't the place it used to be when we came here years ago. It used to be a nice family establishment, now it just seems too have turned into the new owners personal party cove, that still serves ok but not great food to the public. read more

Are there after golf at Sugarloaf golf course . GREAT PLACE . The food was delicious , turkey dinner to die for , burgers and chef salad all fresh not Delie meat . Desert was great as well . They have a great bar and also have Lambrusco wine. A must try if you are around there . read more

This place is a hidden gem! Certainly a spot for locals, but as a hunter who comes in occasionally, Sally's is a "can't miss" for all my meals. On March 25th l had the worst time after going to their restaurant for over 30yrs my wife and I were there for 1 3/4 hrs it took 20 min to get a drink and a glass of water and when the meal finally came I was missing one side the waiter didn't come back never to see if we want another drink or and thing else when he did return he said oh I forgot your side and chuckled we got our bill and left disappointed we'll be hard pressed to go back knowing Sally if she was here she wouldn't be thrilled read more

I had eaten here a few times 2 or 3 years ago, and had been pleased with the food. Sally Purcell's always used to have a good reputation. Unfortunately, this evening's meal was very disappointing. The prime rib was ordered rare, but came to the table not red, not pink, but was grayish and certainly not worth the $25 price tag. I ordered the crab meat stuffed flounder and was extremely dismayed as the fish had no flavor, and the "crab" meat was also extremely bland. The French Onion soup, which had always been good in the past, was served tepid and the cheese wasn't browned enough and pulled away from the bread and the bowl in a warmish glob, and was very difficult to eat. Not sure what changed since I was there last, but I will not be going back. I don't mind spending $70 on a good meal for two; this however, was not good. read more

This place has reasonable prices for the country cooking it offers. Don't miss on turkey dinner anytime of the week for less than $15. All turkey breast. We ate in the bar area, so the bartender was our waiter too. He was very attentive. The Inn is in the basement of an older house with not much of an atmosphere. We started with an onion blossom which was over cooked towards the burnt side. Before we could finish we were served our cabbage soup (good). No sooner our salad and prime rib arrived. staying at a local campground near Sally's use to have such good prime rib my prime rib was to overcooked and dry also gave me no butter or sour cream for partially baked potato this was also overpriced at $25.95 for a small portion no bread or rolls, the seafood salad was good and so were the steamed shrimp this was a to go order totaling $70.00 so I was out of luck with my potato. Very nice, quaint, clean, and friendly family run restaurant. From what I know it's been there since the 1940's. Great quality food and the service there are friendly and quick.
