It's family owned by a local family, aside from naturally hiring in counter help. The ambiance is a novelty, there are old photos on the wall complete with stools that makes it feel to the 1940's-1950's aesthetic in the classiest sense. They are unfortunately not very vegetarian, but my husband enjoyed it. It's a novelty dine in experience with lovely service, and no problems upon pickup (they have doordash, food was still hot within a 15 minute drive home which is great because we were actually enduring a power outage and my husband wouldn't have had a nice hot Sunday lunch otherwise until who knows how long the power got restored) and it was ready promptly. I'd definitely go again! The town itself has seen better days, but has one of the most charming grids I've ever seen on this part up the Susquehanna River, and it's nice how Mickey's is a nice cross between a classic diner and a lovely family style restaurant.

I went with a breakfast sandwich with bacon, egg, and cheese on a croissant with some well done potatoes. My friend had the scrapple with some scrambled eggs. I also had an orange juice. The orange juice I did not care for. Definitely not fresh squeezed. But the sandwich was excellent along with the potatoes. My friend also loved his coffee and scrapple with egg. My meal came to $11 not including tip. We'd come back!

It was actually are last morning on our trip and we were looking for a place to grab lunch before making the drive back to Connecticut. We had driven past the diner several times on previous visits to the area, but had never visited before. We decided to give them a try. It seemed like a classic American diner that you could find just about anywhere. There's no website, no social media accounts, just good old-fashioned diner staples. The staff were friendly and accommodating and they seated us at a booth. A go-to dish that my wife and I both like to get at classic diners is a Greek salad, and Mountainhome Diner's "Big Fat Greek Salad" (chopped iceberg lettuce, crumbled feta, olives, tomato, onions, peppers, grape leaves, house Greek vinegar) sounded like it was just what we were looking for. I ordered mine with gyro while my wife ordered hers with chicken. Those salads really hit the spot! For our sons, we looked to the Kids Menu. Our older son had the "Hot Dog with French fries" while our younger son had the "Chicken Fingers with French fries". They were both very happy with their dishes. This was a breakfast road trip stop that provided comfort and good food that filled the bellies along with some excellent coffee. And, the waitress joined in the morning conversation as if we were regulars! Four tasty strips of Turkey bacon went along with eggs done just right. Our waitress informed us of a few options that they were out of (One was my first choice but that was ok.). The prices were last century inexpensive and I have a feeling I will make the exit again in the future for the White Haven Family Diner.

The place has sporadic, inconsistent hours. Almost every time I go in there, they're out of *something*, an indication of cash flow problems. Yesterday it was oatmeal. They were out of fountain Diet Coke for 3 weeks. As others have said, place is absolutely filthy. The mens' room always smells like a sewer. Skip this dump and go somewhere else. It's a college town, no shortage of places to get a good breakfast. I recommend Bloomin Bagels I'm just one person, but word of mouth is a powerful thing. Today, a coworker and I visited and I had a cowboy burger -- pretty simple burger but it was amazing and I'm not sure what made it so tasty. Cowboy burger has an onion ring, two thick-sliced tomatoes, a piece of lettuce, and crispy bacon. I asked for the barbecue sauce on the side. Plenty of terrific fries came with my burger. My coworker had the turkey club and said it was delicious. Neighbors on our sides had cheesteaks that looked -- and they said tasted -- amazing. This is a popular spot at lunch and sometimes, like today, there's a slight wait for a table but it's worth it. The kitchen is small and there were at least five people in there whipping up basic but tremendous tasting food. I'll be back ... probably the year after next for another great meal.
