The service was not that great and neither was the food. Took over an hour for us to get our food. When we asked for a discount due to the wait we were told "you ate it so why do you expect to get free food!?!" I gave 2 stars only because the waitress was a sweet kid. The food was less than mediocre. I ordered a "kahuna burger" when I tried to ask the waitress what kind of sauce the "special sauce" was on it she went to ask the owner.... She came back and basically said she had no clue. I tried asking if it was sweet, or like thousand island, or maybe a bbq sauce and again she was clueless and said I could ask the owner. So I did... well the owner said it was like a sweeter tangy bbq sauce and I thought I try it out. The sauce was nothing more than some version of steak sauce like Heinz or something of the like. The lettuce for my burger and my salad were disgustingly floppy and browning on every piece. The burger was dry and flavorless like a frozen, over done, cheap, premade off brand box patty. No seasoning, no spice. Hubby got a cheesesteak and it came with pizza sauce on it, the meat in the sandwich was nothing more than steakums, and again there was no flavor, no seasoning... nothing. If you like bland, boring food this is the place for you. read more

Hubby and I stopped in for breakfast on our way across PA. So glad we did! I had the best omelette, delicate and tender layers of egg wrapped around the spinach and feta filling. Hubby's standard 2 eggs and toast with bacon was also done right and delivered hot. Our server was wonderful, kind and helpful. Homey decor and extra space so you don't feel crowded. Breakfast is decent, nothing special about the homefries but they give you a lot of them (might try the hashbrowns next time). Dinner might have something interesting, will update next time around. read more

We decided to stop here for breakfast, there was 6 of us. We got there at 9. Put our orders in by 9:10. We were the only ones there besides 4 other people (2 of which already had there food). 45 minutes later, 5 of us got our meals, with 3 people's eggs being cold. We normally would not complain about this if the place is busy (which it wasn't), or if there's issues that the waitress would have informed us about (which she didn't). 10 minutes later, we asked where the 6th person's meal was. We got let me check. The waitress came back with well we were a little busy and got backed up (mind you the rest of us are done eating). In the meantime, there was 6 other people that came in, had gotten their meals already and left. They finally brought out our other meal, and we asked the waitress to talk to the manager. The waitress asked us why? And, we said because of the service. At this point, it was over an hour before our final person got his meal. The waitress got rude with us saying she didn't understand why we needed to talk to the manager, saying we got our food. We said again because of the service. The waitress started arguing with us that they were backed up, that they only had a small grill, and couldn't handle large orders, and that hash browns took a while, and that we were rude to her because we wouldn't answer her. When she came by to ask if we needed coffee refills, we were obviously talking. When we finished our sentence, we would answer her. She claimed we didn't. So we finally get our waitress to get the manager, we explained it all over again to the manager who said she totally understood. We requested that the last meal that was really late be removed from the bill, and said because of the service we'd probably never be back, to which she replied let me see what I can do, and said please give us a 2nd chance. She continued to tell us the waitress forgot to put it in. So, we were thinking that she's going to come back with that meal taken off the bill. Instead, another woman (cook/owner?) comes out and says "what's the problem here" very loud. I asked do we need to go through all of this again? She slams the bill on the table and yells at us, you're not getting free food, he ate it, you"re paying for it, all the while pointing at us. She went on to say I was rude for asking that question, when all we wanted was the last meal taken off the bill for it taking longer than the rest of our meals. She started screaming at all of us, telling us we were rude, crazy, and telling us she was going to call the cops on us. We got up to leave as she was still screaming at us, and told us never to come back. I never had such pathetic customer service in my life. This was beyond despicable! Decent food! Great service. Very old school. Everyone was friendly and the bathrooms were clean.

Went there today for the first time.Used to go there a LOT when it was still the Bluebird(back in the 60's...70's). It has a great atmosphere,friendly staff and the best homemade vegetable beef soup I ever ate in a diner.Only complaint was the side salad...WAY too much lettuce and not enough of the tomatoes,etc. Will definitely go there again. read more
