I really want to love The Inn, because it is such a staple in Ripon. The Inn has a vibe that feels like, western, divey, old & sporty all in one. There are a couple TV's, pool tables and a DJ/Dance area. They play music on the regular and will typically have a DJ on some weekends. It is 100% a locals type of spot as it is the only dedicated bar in Ripon. The bar staff are typically on point and serve you within a reasonable amount of time. Weekdays are definitely not a problem, but Friday and Saturday nights can be fairly busy. Here is what I found disgusting: if you find yourself to be the designated driver or a non-drinker, the soda gun or bar gun that dispenses the different sodas & water needs to be thoroughly cleaned or changed out. The soda and water taste like it was not just unfiltered, but as if the filter hasn't been changed out in ten years. To me, the water was not consumable at all. This not only tastes bad, but can get people sick also. Aside from that, if you're just looking to get a drink or two at a bar, The Inn will get it done. read more

Had the worst experience I've ever had at a bar. We walked in (group of 4) the only non-white people in there, which is fine with us. Whatever. Had about 3 round of drinks, paid with cash (bar only accepts cash) every time and tipped AT LEAST 20-25% each time. Played some darts, bought another round and again paid with cash, with a tip. Got a water, which was free and tipped a couple bucks. Not once did the bartenders give us a receipt or tab... we moved over to the pool tables, played 2 games, and got one last round. I stopped drinking early because I was DD.... we were on our way out, and the bartender stops us and says hella rudely, "you owe the cost of 6 drinks." We all stopped and looked at each other confused as shit. We paid cash every single round, left very generous tips, didn't cause any problems, never received a tab, or receipt, and they tell us that we owe money?? She tries to force us to pay, and we refused she says "we can pull up the cameras." So we pull up the cameras and she doesn't show us any proof that we didn't pay for a round. She claimed "oh I can't go back that far in the footage." After that, both bartenders were screaming at us, telling other customers to call 911. Our group of 4 was chill the entire time. We really did not care, we just didn't want to get robbed of our money. Once they started screaming at us, is when we got mad. Our group ended up donating to the bar for 3 of the 6 drinks they claimed we didn't pay for and just leaving. Never going back. This is the second time that I've been involved in an incident in Ripon, when I'm accused of stealing. Not sure if it has anything to do with our ethnicity or what, but this shit is ridiculous. read more

Great place to black out in and find out where you end up the next morning. Watch out for this "high school reunion" nights as it can get rowdy. Also the DJ for the karaoke nights is a goof. read more

New in town and these folks made me feel like a regular. My music choice on the jukebox is appreciated and they serve my favorite suds on tap...Lagunitas IPA...liquid comfort! We ended up playing here again last night, March 26th, 2017. It was a total change from our previous experience! It changed for the good, and I am glad to update my review. Now, I can say that I would play here again if invited back assuming they maintain the awesome accommodating experience like we had yesterday. It's important for a venue to have a safe place to store gear, it's expensive and it does get stolen. It's unfortunate but it happens. They allowed us to use the back room to store all if our gear safely, the back room is also equipped with cameras, so incase something walks away, we would know who took it. To be honest, this was the most important thing. I didn't drink, restroom or use a credit card so I can't speak on any of that for yesterday. We really appreciate the change in this place, we would definitely visit again. Thanks! read more

DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A FUN EVENING. Worst bar experience I've ever had. The older/elderly female bartender treated me and my friends horribly. I politely asked for my simple vodka club soda to be remade because it tasted like fireball. She got a huge attitude even tho I was very polite and apologetic. She said she is sorry if my taste buds are off and reluctantly remade the simple drink. I am sorry, her customer service skills are off. She proceeded to ruin the night having other bar patrons talk loudly about me right next to me and my friends. Ended up leaving without even finishing my remade still horrible tasting drink. I've been here a few times and I always say I'll never go back, first off the service, i waited 20 min to get waited on and i asked one of the regulars if the bartender was new and he said nah she's been around for a while, the drinks finally came and they were absolutely revolting! I kept ordering different drinks to see if it was just me but all of them were horrid, I asked my 2 friends I was with to try them and they spit them out in their water glasses I finally 3 drinks later opted for a beer since it required no preparation by the bartender. This place is terrible I've only been here a few times and I wish I could like this bar since it's so close to my house. it's dirty, and the bartender was rude both times I've been to this bar. I came here for a local band performance. Mechanical Sun! They rocked the house and the atmosphere was great. Not to crowded but definitely not empty. Drinks were reasonably priced and mixed fine (I say this because a previous post I read). $12.00 for 4 drinks (mixed, hard liquor). I would come back for another show with ease. read more

These bartenders are subnormals. I've never seen such incompetence from people who pour drinks for a living. We arrived to a pretty dead bar (apart from the cool kids fresh out of high school) and attempted to order a few easy to make drinks. Unfortunately the bartender was too busy rubbing the shaved heads of some possibly underaged male patrons to notice our futile attempts. After resorting to waving my hands for attention after 15 minutes of staring at head rubbbing in disbelief we finally got to put in our order. Ten more min. 2 more head rubs. We get our drinks....actually HALF our drinks. Now we're stuck waiting at this dive, no doubt for half an hour or longer to get a few more beers poured. Go to olde town and skip this highschool hangout. Unless you like your head rubbed. read more

For a dive bar the drinks are pretty good but I always forget to bring cash. If you don't have cash the bartender will point to the ATM machine which charges like 5 bucks to use. I think they need to put signs up outside telling you that this place takes cash only no cards. After a few drinks with my brother and sister we went to pay but the bartender was gone. No clue where she went and we had no idea how much we owed. We waited 10 more minutes and still no bartender in sight so we said screw it and left money on the table of what we thought we owed and left. Fun to drink here as long as it's not around the holidays or any other night when you'll run into the entire town of Ripon. If it's full of older women(30-40), then you better not be a young pretty girl because you'll get daggers all night. Had a woman tell security she 'knew' my friend just graduated high school and he wasn't doing his job... My friend is 22. The staff is always great but on busy nights expect to be shoved in a crowd and wait on drinks. Great dive bar if you're just looking to wet your whistle and play some pool on a weeknight. read more

Definitely not the cleanest of places and the drinks are pretty expensive and not made too well but if you go with a group of people it can be fun. There is 2 pool tables and a dart board. They ONLY take cash so don't expect to use a credit card. read more

I'm a bit partial to this place - It's the only bar in town and I happen to know the couple that owns the place. The bartenders are great! The days are quiet, several people just hanging out, having a drink and talking. The nights can get very busy, there is either a live band or a DJ on Friday & Saturday nights.
