Very rude, i accidentally knocked on the door thinking it was ritual piercing and tattoo, the guy opened the door and immediately started bad mouthing me about the place i was going to go. As someone who works in customer service, it's completely inappropriate to bad mouth someone. When I told the guy at ritual about he he had told me that this guy does it often. That is completely ridiculous, even after hearing he say I shouldn't go there, I decided to continue and guess what! I had a great experience and everything was speedy and fast also cheap. The guy at ritual had nothing bad to say about this asshole at main street and yet the main street guy felt the need to try and make me change my mind. Shitty lines, colors blend where they aren't supposed to, some color is missing altogether, and he did some crosshatch work in some branches, but others no crosshatching. It is by far the worst decision I've made letting him tattoo me. Spent $300 on the worst tattoo I have ever gotten. Now I gotta spend $100+ to touch it up, AND I HAVE HAD IT FOR UNDER ONE MONTH. I went to Main Street Tattoo today with 3 of my friends. All of us planned on getting tattoos. I went first and told Jamie "the shop owner" my idea. He called it polishing a turd. When I said okay I don't think I'll get one today he proceeded to call me a dick head. Only one of the 3 friends got a tattoo from him and thats because he already put a deposit down. The owner Jamie is an amazing artist and has an eye for tattoos. I have been here multiple times, and have several pieces from him. The shop is clean and the employees are helpful and friendly. All of the artists have their portfolios out in the lobby for clients to look over their work in order to make a decision on an artist. They also sell clothing with artwork from some of the artists for those who aren't ready to make a permanent decision :) I won't be going anywhere else to get tattoo work done. Thumbs up. read more

I'll make this as short and simple as I can and if I could, I would give this place a 0. I had a cover up I wanted and I asked this guy, Jamie, for a BEAR to cover up this angel I had done by a homie. I wanted a bear because my bottom half sleeve was Russian inspired so I wanted to keep that theme and told Jamie this as well. We had discussed the bear idea I wanted and this would be tatted on my upper arm area. Jamie said come back in 2 hours while he draws this up. I come back in two hours and this dude had a whole ass tiger drawn up and added extra shit, like wings, that we never talked about?? He's like going hard explaining me his ideas to cover up my angel and I'm like "uhhhhhh I wanted a bear?" And he goes on saying how he is not able to draw a bear and how hard that is. Why didn't you tell me this when I ha FIRST came in asking you for one??????? I effed up because I should have just left after that, knowing I asked and wanted a BEAR, but I let him tattoo it on me anyways because I am young and naive and I just wanted this angel to be covered up!! This picture I have of a bear was what he JUST tattooed on someone a few weeks ago. I thought he couldn't draw bears???????? I am super pissed and will NEVER recommend this place to anyone. Not only did he not even listen to the idea I wanted tattooed on MY body, but he also made this tattoo wayyyyyyy darker and more male-looking than than the half sleeve I already have tattooed. We went in Saturday night to put a deposit down for 1 cover up tattoo for my friend, however, I ended putting down a deposit as well for a cover up. To be honest, I didn't get in the door. I was recommended to the shop by a friend who is fanatical about the owner/artist Jamie. When I presented him with an idea that was very significant to me, he was dismissive of it. He could be bothered to do it, but decided it lacked artistry. It takes a lot of ignorance to decide something needs arbitrary gradients or japanese flowers to suit his aesthetic and ignore the person who will be wearing it forever. I can't speak for the other artists that may be in the shop, but an ego that enormous must influence those around it. His work is the same as many other shops and has the sterotypical attitude to match. It's competent work. read more

I first met Jamie Bartlett (now owner) a few years ago. I came in with one of the most horrific/embarrassing ink jobs that I hid in shame for years. I had this whole idea of what I wanted to cover it with, which was completely unrealistic, something I would later be educated on. I was skeptical at first, being that I already had a bad experience and I can be rather picky in terms of what I envision in my head but I decided to listen to his ideas, as he did with mine, and thus the cover up begun. I can say with certainty that this guy knows what the fuck is up. Not only is it like the old tattoo never existed, but it turned into so much more than I could have ever hoped for, and we're currently adding on more because I was so impressed. I couldn't be more pleased that I found this guy. If anyone is going to complain about prices, there are a million shops that will do it for less, but you have to expect for the quality to be way less too. It's on your body forever! Why be cheap? Best advice I can give from my experience: If you can't afford quality work, don't get any work at all. It costs way more to fix it. All I know is when I'm out and my sleeve is exposed people stop me constantly to admire the amazing art Jamie provided. I started coming to Jamie Bartlett~Owner~back in 2009. I had just moved here & wanted a great artist with an extra clean shop. He came highly recommended from my cousin who has had several tattoo's done by Jamie along with her son's, husband & a bunch of their friends. He has done 3 great tattoo's for me through the years and 1 just this last week. He is very patient and truly cares how your tattoo will look and provides his professional opinion for you to take it or leave it & I always choose to trust him to put his artistry to work in making an amazing tattoo out of our combined thoughts to make an original/unique piece that I will love for years to come. He is the only artist I want doing my ink!! I've since referred him to my Aunt & my daughter who also love the work he's done for them. He's very honest & dedicated to his work, I had actually overpaid for my daughters 1st tattoo back in December because my deposit was not applied & he caught me in the parking lot to let me know. He offered to refund my card or do a gift certificate & I opted for the gift certificate to use on the one I got last week, for the oversight he added an extra $20 to my GC. Great guy, very precise with his work, a great eye for detail & works in a timely manner, something I thought would take about 2 1/2hrs, he finished in just under 2 hours. He even went the extra mile by walking myself & my daughter out to our cars in the dark parking lot.
