Not very happy with my experience here. The artist that did my tattoo was very rough and really rushed through the tattoo. There are a lot of mistakes in it, especially in the tentacles. I wasn't made comfortable discussing any concerns after trying once to have more shading added. I'm going to go somewhere else to get detail added to the top of the jellyfish. Additionally, the artist made a number of distasteful comments about women (employees of the shop or otherwise). One person he referred as a stupid b*tch. I feel partially responsible for my experience because I should have found an artists that better matched my style. On the other hand, if he knew he could not do a good job on what I wanted, he should not have agreed to it. He also did a tattoo for my friend which had a lot of mistakes, including being asymmetrical and missing a part. He then added shading to hers without asking her first. Two stars because the shop was clean and the other artists are probably better. read more

The owner, Joey made me very uncomfortable after I told him I only needed to buy the piercing with no other help necessary. He kept asking to see my naval belly piercing, causing me to repeat and say I don't need help putting it in just buying it. He kept saying are you sure at least 10 times.. while smirking enough to make me uncomfortable ...He proceeded to walk entirely out of his was around the desk to give the piercing to me and came 6 inches from my face to speak to me. Went in for a cover up and met Ron. Showed him ideas of what I wanted and he said he could do it. Sure enough, he could not. He had me come back the next day so he could make sure the sketch lined up with my old tattoo, so I trusted the process. Not quite sure where things got lost in translation, but instead of integrating the original piece or even... covering it up.... he basically just slapped a new sketch on top of it, with the old one still very visible. Leaving me with, what noticeably was, two tattoos layered on top of each other, with the new one being twice the size. The line work was questionable, like some parts were barely there while others were heavy handed. To put the cherry on top, he gave me a time to come back so he could change the second skin but when I showed up, I was told he had left to get food and wasn't coming back‍ lol. However, I met Keon and he was sweet enough to help me out with it! I don't know if Ron overestimated his abilities or just rushed the job for a quick payout. But luckily, Alex from Living Canvas Tattoos was able to save the day :) read more

This guy exactly where the fear of going to tattoo artists lies I'll keep it short. I got a tattoo at this guy's shop he quoted me $13 which was a Halloween special. I will say right up front that the tattoo is a quality tattoo but not what was offered to me that day time comes for me to pay for the tattoo and the guy charges me or tries to charge me $162. Now you need I remind you that the original quoted tattoo was $13. When he handed me the credit card receipt I discussed it with them and said I was understanding of the job how did it get to this we went back and forth back and forth back and forth and the guy was a real a****** to say the least we called him later on to see if we could negotiate a better price or somehow fix something. Basically he told me to go screw myself invited me to drop dead and all kinds of lovely business owners attention I thought I'd give the idiot one last chance to reduce his loss but he refused to do so. I went right to my bank disputed the charge and what do you think they did they give me my freaking money back all of it. Charge back to the merchant it's called. I was going to split the cost with the guy and do like 50/50 but now he loses everything is that a business that you want to go to do you think it's a business that's run very well on managed very well no it's a business that puts out there exactly why you should not go to tattoo artist because of. Okay here's the deal, jamone is amazing and did a few of my tattoos so when I went in one night and saw he was busy, I figured I would give another artist a try. I was greeted by a guy named Brian who told me he had another tattoo in front of me (which is fine I was ready to wait) and he took a smoke break before starting the girl, after finishing her tattoo, and again 5 minutes later before starting mine. I didn't know work was SO stressful that you need to smoke 3 times in the span of 45 minutes... not to mention, he also never washed his hands...!!!!! I was getting simple coordinates of my home in CT on my ankle, something super sentimental to me and somehow he managed to put me in the MIDDLE OF THE OCEAN. I checked the coordinates on his phone, comparing them to the coordinates on mine, and somehow from his phone, to their computer, to my ankle, it got fucked up. Now, not only are the coordinates messed up (he flipped the north and west), but the line work is SO BAD! Every day I look at it, it gets worse and worse. I was also charged $160 for this, meanwhile I got a color tattoo with more detail in downtown Manhattan for $100. I got ripped off on the price and the quality. There are signs all over the shop that say, "no refunds, no exceptions" but honestly, for something THIS BAD a refund should be allowed... or at LEAST a free/discounted cover up from a better artist. I am sure there are other artists that are amazing there but I am so disappointed in this as it was something incredibly sentimental to me that I now have to get covered up... read more

I don't know about the quality of the tattoo's but please avoid getting pierced here! The girl who does them (Carli I think her name was) was noticibly intoxicated on what I could only guess was pills. Moving slow, nodding off, talking slurred... it was not comforting and super unprofessional! I didn't get any pricing info until it was done and no instructions on how to care for it! My last piercing I was given a kit with cleaner, q tips and a print out on caring for it post piercing. Just save yourself the trouble and the money! It's like double what you would pay anywhere else!! read more

I contacted this location due to no piercers working or available at any studio in all of the local greater Phoenix area. This was including one place I've gone to twice since November 2022, once to this same location in February 2023, I've wanted a Monroe on both sides for years. The drive was 32 mins from home regardless I found myself here. Pleasantly surprised they had an opening and that they don't close until 1AM on the weekends. I'll be a return customer 100%. Planning for Memorial Day weekend if they're not too busy. I did bruise quite a bit. Wasn't thinking that would happen and it hurt like a son-of-a-Bi**h. It wasn't the piercers fault and I don't hold her responsible for any of it. She was also the only artist ever that I've asked about genital piercings that would talk about it with me. Very friendly all around from all the artists. Absolutely and 100% recommend. The color she uses sticks and, taken care of properly, heals with no scars and it's perfectly even! in my previous experience with other artists, despite taking care of my tattoos the same way, they always heal with scars, color fades fast/patchy, and they are always SO itchy. Carly the piercer was high as a kite and the piercings she did were noticeably crooked to everyone but her! I signed no paperwork for my minor daughter to be pierced either. I had to tell her to take a copy of both papers of her birth certificate because the name on her bc is different than her ID because it was amended. I tried to tell her I wasn't happy and instead of offering a solution she argued, got in my mom's face and then called the owner and made it seem like I was just overreacting. Joey said he will fix it but it was an awful experience. Then to it off she was nodding off so she was piercing my daughter so slow! It was too late to call it and then charged me almost $200 for crooked piercings! No my daughter will be scared physically and mentally from this experience and has to do it again to get it in the right place! read more

little stubby in the front was terrible when it came to managing what was going on, waited 5 hours for a small tattoo and saw plenty of people that came in after me get attended first, would consistently give attitude when asked where at in the line I was and when she would get the courage to look, she would claim there was no waiver for me. Well I lost a bet during a round of golf. Decided to get a tattoo of a golf ball as my punishment. The night was bright. I was out in Tempe for my 30th. What could go wrong right? The night started off with a delicious Paloma drink. The drinks kept flowing. What came next, I wouldn't wish it upon my worst enemy. I asked for a titleist pro v1 ball but instead I got a range ball. A fucken range ball that's been hit more then Riley Reid and Lana rhoades combined. I couldn't believe what had just happened. I was upset. I listen to Marvin's room by drake all the way home. I woke up the next morning, sat down to take a shit. And there it was! The most ugliest golf ball ever. But other then that the tattoo shop is very clean, everyone was very nice so for that reason I'm giving them a 3 star rating. read more

It was my cousins birthday and we asked for a walk-in and they took us in, which I'm glad and thankful ! My cousin got a 1 1/2inch tattoo of a simple dragon and I got a 2inch name in cursive on my arm. Took less than 20min for the both of us. They charged us $140 each which is surprising because I got a way more detailed tattoo for $75! I think they took advantage of two young girls, so please ask be forehand what the price will be. Our faults for being excited and naive! Will not be returning there! read more

I got a walk in piercing here. I should have just left immediately after walking in but I stuck around just because I wanted the piercing over with. I don't know what their problem is but they weren't wearing masks and didn't take any precautions for COVID. I don't know if they understand the concept of a global pandemic? It was especially uncomfortable considering I had to take my mask off in order to get the piercing. The piercing was relatively painless and it turned out fine but the lady was pretty rude and unprofessional. I plan to get more piercings but not from this place. read more

I am going to start off with saying I knew that McHue worked here and only gave this place a shot because of this artist being here. My boyfriend and I were both looking to get simple, small, and black/grey tattoos. The shop minimum was $100 which is the average for most shops in AZ. We walk in and immediately were severed, McHue offered to do my boyfriends simple dagger and grabbed someone else to do my tattoo. I get that most artists don't want to be sat with two tattoos so I was fine with it. I am also going to state that this was not my first tattoo and that i have been tattooed by a handful of people. The artist wasn't the nicest and when i said i just wanted a simple cactus, black outline with some shading just american traditional he asked for a reference, so I showed him something a lil too detailed and explained all i wanted was something simple just to give him an idea. The artist quoted me $150 for a 2x2 black outline.. definitely not thrilled by the price or the attitude by the guy I decided to not get a piece by the artist and just watch my boyfriend get his. McHue asked why I wasn't getting a tattoo anymore and I explained price was the issue because I have gotten bigger and better pieces from people in the valley and this was just a spur of the moment kind of thing. He instantly offered to do my tattoo as well for the shop minimum. I am giving McHue 5 stars and the reason for the 4 star vote is just the experience I had with the other artist. If you're thinking about stopping by this place I would definitely recommend to schedule with McHue first if you're trying to get your bang for your buck. This is BY FAR the best shop I have ever been to and the only place I trust. I've been going here for about 4 years now and have been tattooed by Joey, Misty, and Los. They are all amazing artists! Everything about this place is amazing. The staff is friendly and professional, the prices are extremely fair, the shop is always clean, and the work that comes out of this shop is always great. I came in for the first time after a bad experience at Club Tattoo and Joey was able to fix it up right away. I've never had any issues here. Joey has done most of my tattoos at this point and I am amazed by his work each time. I now live in Washington and frequently visit just to get tattooed by him.
