Well I have been wanting a special tattoo for a long time! I was scared of the pain! I went in talked to Wookie paid my little deposit and scheduled my appointment! I got Kris Cagle! He is a tattoo artist! He was so nice! He explained the whole process. He talked me thru each piece of my tattoo. Ok it did hurt a little but it was much better than I imagined! He was done in approximately 20 minutes! I couldn't believe how quick and efficient Kris was! I love my tattoo! He explained maintenance and He even followed up the next day to check on me. Wow! OK took advantage of being off blood thinners and decided to do something I would never think of doing. I got a tattoo. First the decor is wonderful R2 and Chewy (the actor, Peter Mayhew died a few days after I was in) loved it. I knew by the name I would see some Chewbaca stuff, but I was amused by everything there. If I had planned better I would have gotten a Vader tattoo, but back to topic. I wanted something simple and small that still meant something to me. I wanted an "Always Keep Fighting" tattoo. I needed it more for my own mental health at the time, but I needed to also start the talk about mental health. My tattoo artist was James. He had recommended a flowing artistic font, but I am not that kind of person. I wanted more block, so he redesigned and I like it. The tattoo is not noticeable on the inside of my arm but I can see it and remind me to take care of myself. It has also opened the door with other people who are Supernatural fans to say their story or others who are not aware to ask what it means. Yay! Great way to help myself and others around me. Shop is clean. Directions for after care was simple and easy to understand. I was impressed. I may never get another tattoo, but this experience was the best. I was expecting PAIN, but the pain was different than the pain I had planned for in my head. I now know why people get tattoos, it could be addictive. I am held back by medical, but I would easily see why others do it. Now I understand. James was quick and while having to sit there I got to look at his art. Truly an artist. read more

I am definitely a repeat Wookie customer, but this was my first appointment in his Awhatukee shop. The shop is fantastic, great waiting room, great decor with tv display of all the artist works rotating, as well as portraits in the shop of various amazing artwork. Immaculately clean and great inviting vibe. You can't help but smile at something while you sit in the lobby. Great music playing, it's open, but private at the same time, so if you were to want/need, you would be completely secluded with your artist. Also great t-shirts and other products to show off your Wookie pride! That being said about the fantastic shop, got a fantastic piece on my back today, to incorporate previous work (2 done by Wookie, 1 prior). Wookie was awesome as always, checking if I needed a break, as my artwork took about 3 hours. So happy with it. Now what is on top of my new artwork, what I thought was incredible and innovative, was this "second skin" to help it heal. Think a big clear sticker, and that will come off in 24 hours, then he sends you home with another sticker to replace (more detailed instruction was provided) but then that is in pace for 5 days, so no more lotioning up every x hours, or wrapping up in plastic at night. So excited about that for healing. There is an extra charge for this, but SOOO worth it already.. Thank you Wookie! As always, I am so happy and can't wait to show my healed artwork off all summer!! read more
