I was in the mood for a great deli sandwich and some soup and this place hit the spot. I tried their chicken salad on a croissant and it was nice consistency, not too creamy, not too chunky! The sandwich tasted very fresh!! We had the deli chili which is almost like a gumbo but without all the crazy spices!! Man this thing was a hit! All the pieces of meat inside the chili packed huge flavor and just the right amount of saltiness. I'm actually going back today to grab a bowl for later. In a society so full of chain restaurants and greedy corporations, you have this nest, this whole in the wall safehaven where one can come to enjoy a delicious and full hearty meal and an affordable price. Food tasted homemade and was of high quality. Their coffee is served in a cup where the owner or someone else writes an encouraging quote meant to be for the person who drinks coffee from that cup. It was incredibly timely and pivotal for me to read the message that was on my cup. My wife's cup seemed relevant as well and I recommend coming here, especially if you're all about supporting #local and trying to stop the #TidalWave of chains and franchises from opening and taking over our city. We paid extra for grilled chicken on the salad and a baguette. The order didn't have grilled chicken, no baguette, and the wrong salad dressing. Great stop, this place is run by two genuinely sweet and generous people. I ordered the New Yorker and the pasta salad, both were absolutely delicious. They utilize two different types of bread on the New Yorker, two meats, sauerkraut, and a Russian dressing. The bread was crispy and toasted without being excessively greasy, the cuts of meat used were fantastic, and everything worked together cohesively. Between the phenomenal service, food, and reasonable prices I give this beautiful deli stop a 5 star. What an absolutely fantastic find! Growing up, my favorite place to eat was a small sandwich shop on the square in Marietta. Tommy's Deli is literally my childhood memory of a great sandwich shop, big kaiser rolls piled with thick sliced cheese and a stack of fresh meat. They closed over a decade ago and I've been without a replacement ever since. There are a few places around Atlanta that are very good but I have never had a sandwich like Tommy's until yesterday afternoon. I picked my lady up from the Ford dealership and we looked for something nearby to have a late lunch. Main St Deli stood out, so we went on by. It's right in the old downtown Buford on Main Street, obviously, and it reminded me so much of Tommy's, it's small with just a few tables, a very small selection of chips and bottled sodas, and then the ordering counter. They have several specialty hot and cold sandwiches and then they have the make your own section, which I went right at and ordered a pastrami and provolone and a turkey and Swiss because I couldn't decide which one I wanted more. I got the pastrami on a Kaiser roll and the turkey on a baguette, and they were both easily the best sandwiches I've had in years. The baguette was excellent but the Kaiser roll stole the show. I annihilated both of them and wanted more, unfortunately I was stuffed and decided it would be best to just come back. I know where they are now and will definitely be returning as often as I can. Price was a little higher than I hoped, but you get what you pay for and I got the absolute best. read more

Main street deli has the best burger anywhere. Crisp outside edges, pink, not red middle, juices need a second to settle before your first bite. The grill is just 15' from your table so it will be served hot. Make it however you want, with egg for a farm burger or avocado for a cali style or Swiss and mushrooms, you can ask for grilled onions. At 1/2 pound no need to get a side but if you like they have lots to choose from. It will take 8 minutes to get your burger because he cooks it when you order. I have been coming here for a few years now and it was always pretty good, and I used to drive 30 minutes to a pub I thought had the best burger but... now This is my weekly fix. dang it this is not going to be good for my diet. read more

We like places like this...family owned and friendly. The owner Chris was friendly and very personable. There are some creative, original menu items including some tasty and healthy ingredients. Everything Is cooked from scratch and no canned stuff. I had the Country Breakfast with pork and chicken apple sausage). They don't usually have the chicken apple sausage but today they did and it was delicious. The corned beef hash plate that my husband has comes with diced corned beef brisket, sweet and regular potatoes with green peppers. They are so tasty. Cinnamon rolls look so good. I went there to get a coffee to go. I saw from other they have A pistachio cake and i was really excited to try it. Came here with my mom to try something new and wasn't in the mood for something heavy. We sat by the counter against the windows. It's a cute little deli and they play oldies, so it's a nice atmosphere. We ordered the Mediterranean sandwich and a bowl of soup. The cashier got our order wrong (the sign wasn't updated) we were served the Asian shrimp wrap and a cup of soup. We were a bit confused but the wrap was not bad and the tomato basil soup tasted homemade and fresh and not your typical heavy cream based. The cashier lady gave us more soup upon getting our soup order wrong. Later, the owner Chris checked in with us and we told him our experience. He offered to comp our meal/give us the correct sandwich. But, we were not that hungry anymore we just were confused more than anything about our order. He explained to us the confusion and the different specials (the board was incorrect). He gave us a brownie and cookie upon leaving. Both were good especially the brownie! Main St. Deli is located in the beautiful and quaint downtown Buford. It's a small shop with street parking. One afternoon I was meeting my brother there for his lunch break. He's a regular there and was ranting about the soups and sandwiches. In my opinion soup and a sandwich is the perfect pairing for any meal of the day. I was there a few minutes early and was walking up to the store front when a man walking ahead of me held the door open and said he should've let me walk in first. We laughed and smiled and after walking inside he asked if I was meeting someone. He walked behind the counter and I was pleasantly surprised to find out he was the owner. His bright smile and sense of humor made me feel comfortable and the shop began to feel like home. When my brother arrived, Chris the owner immediately greeted him and called him by name. I let my brother order first, I wanted to try everything on the menu so it took me a few spare moments to finally decide while he ordered. I ended up getting the black and tan sandwich with a cup of creamy vegetable soup. Not only is it homemade but it's delicious! As we ate my brother told me about other items he has tried and breakfast options they have as well. He also chatted with Chris while I was stuffing my face and wishing I had more.
