Attended Main Event lastnight at 8:30pm for a night of family fun, however, it turned into a night of horrible situation after the other. We sat down awaiting to order our food and drinks and it took 1hour and 30mins to be acknowledged that we had sat down at the table. One server came over the table finally and took drink orders but, then disappeared for another 30mins. At that moment it was time to go over to our bowling lane to bowl. It's now been one more hour still no drinks or food. Finally had to go up to the bar to ask what was the hold up and we were told the server when on her break and never took our order to back kitchen, she gave our order over to the next server and that server never took our order to back either. It has now been 3 hours and 30mins and still no food or drinks. Moving on the bowling lane... we were bombared by a group of disrespectful young black people. I'm almost embarrassed to say that about my own kind but yes, loud, rude, and bowling all over in our lane. At this moment, I'm betting pissed. Managevent was notified. They moved them and our lane was restarted for free but that still doesn't solve the food and drink problem. Finally got food at midnight!! Only to learn that the bar is now closed so we can't order anymore to drink. Long story short no one had any regard for bigger picture and failed to solve the problem. They still charged for the food and drinks. I will NOT be returning ever!!! read more

So here we are, I've been here before but this today's experience, oh boy, let me tell ya, it's about to get wild! Ok picture this: every time we dared to play a two-player game, in the arcade, it was like stepping into a world gone bonkers. It was a comedy extravaganza, with controllers playing rebellious rockstars, busting out moves to the right when we desperately needed them to go left. One controller threw a diva fit, clinging onto dear life by a single lonely screw, hanging there completely dead. Skee ball turned into a sad, ball-less circus act, leaving us not rolling a ball but rolling in tears. But wait, there's more! The VR glasses took center stage with a mind-boggling performance--they decided to hijack our experience by showcasing a never-ending error message party. Who needs a virtual reality when you have glitched reality, am I right? Ping pong? More like ping-pong-pong-gone-wrong! The game had selective hearing, ignoring our impressive hits on numerous blocks. And the basketball game? Oh, it was the prankster, displaying a zero timer that made us question the very fabric of time itself and made us clueless as to what our score was or how much time we had left. So many screens were as shattered as our hopes of a smooth gaming session, while a lot of card machines turned into sassy gatekeepers, playing hard to get with our desperate swipes, while providing us only denials. And let's not forget the games that barely provided us with enough balls--talk about a tease! This wasn't just a simple "oopsie," oh no. It was a full-blown comedy of errors, a sidesplitting calamity orchestrated by the maintenance failures of Main Event. I mean, does anyone even care about the gaming experience? It's like they were aiming for the title of "Misadventure Masters." Well played, Main Event. Our experience may have been a disaster, but at least we got a sad story out of it! I'm telling you, it was a comedy show we never asked for, and Main Event took the crown for the master of malfunction. Bravo, folks, bravo! I'm just sad to have spent a small fortune to endure such misfortune. Maybe this will help you decide to go someplace else, I hear Dave and Busters is just down the interstate. read more

Let me review my visit from start to end. So I went with some of my relatives on a Saturday afternoon and had to wait outside due to them being at capacity. 10 minutes wasn't a problem. Game play was satisfactory, though not enjoyable because other patrons were walking around not wearing masks and weren't being told to put them on. Even overlooking all of this, the eatery was the worst part. Due to a lack of proper management, the line took forever to move forward and an employee from the kitchen suggested the patrons were the issue for not dispersing... we were all in line. There were barely any clean tables to eat at. I only give them 1 star because that's the minimum you have to give on Yelp. read more

I was a bit Leary before going because of some of the reviews I seen . I visited the main event in Memphis a few times now and loved it each time . I have a 2 year old and she loves it ! They have multiple TV's, arcade games , bowling , pool , laser tag , virtual reality games for the little ones and the list goes on . The food isn't too bad either . We had the lemon pepper wings which were seasoned a bit to much but they were edible . They have good specials as well. On one particular day we went on Monday and they have all you can play arcade games for 10.95! Awesome deal seeing how each game cost at-least 1.50 a piece. Main event is a very fun environment with loads of fun. I enjoyed facing a fear here being connected to a harness and walking on ropes in the air. I enjoyed laser tag. I love playing on the basketball machines so that was fun. We ordered pizza and salad which was very fresh and tasty. I would recommend anyone to go as it has a variety options of games and fun. My son is homeschooled so sometimes I like to take him places where he can get that energy out. It was our first time at Main Event and it was a good experience overall with one big exception. The pricing. Mostly the food and drinks were ridiculously overpriced. They even had a promotion but I still couldn't get buy any food and justify the price. I did however buy a drink and when I showed how shocked I was at the price the bartender shook her head and said "I know", agreeing with me . But we walked in to a well organized and clean atmosphere, which is all I could really ask for when it comes to children's entertainment. They had promotions for gameplay and activities that seemed pricy and somewhat reasonable depending on the promotion. We didn't have an issue with one game not being in service or in good condition. I wish I could remember the name of the woman with short blonde hair who was at the front desk, she was so sweet and helpful and explained everything to me with that being put out. They had just switched over to a point system which threw me and she was happy to help. Make sure you eat before or just don't come hungry. We will return! read more

This place is expensive and service is terrible. One person waiting tables one bar tender 7 lanes open of 20 available. Over a hour and half wait for a hour of bowling. Laser tag was just as bad of a wait. Place was dirty and food was like bad bar food fries where cold. Bowling area was filthy food on the benches and tables not wiped down. We had a decent amount of bumps during our event here. But there's lots of entertainment. I feel as if we didn't have clear instructions as to what was paid for and how to access all the amenities of our event. There should be printed instructions posted in the event space and announced for the event owner and guests the day of regarding food that was kept in the back such as soda ordering, how the game passes work, and other details. The banquet attendant should be instructed to make an overall announcement about said protocols and make themselves known to the event attendees for issues. The attendant should also be well versed and have access to the media outlets provided in the room. We want to thank Bria for her quick turn around on the media submitted. But had issue getting the media to play in Room 1 where the event was scheduled to be hosted. Food: we paid for the MVP AND unlimited soft drinks but it was unclear as to get sodas and none of our guests heard the announcement (made by the guest of honor) to ask the attendant to fetch them. There should be a sign posted for things like this. So, I'm not sure any guest got soda. The food quality was okay. Many didn't like the pasta salad or the pizza. We loved the Cesar the tots, chicken fingers, burger and dogs. The fruit was fresh but late. And the hot stations were not hot throughout the whole event because the room was too cold and the stations were not being attended and closed. We didn't receive the crackers or cheese at all and the fruit didn't arrive until half the allotted time for eating was over. Any remaining food at the end of the time allotted for service should be left available for attendees to finish off at their leisure through the remainder of their event time. I also feel as if the wristbands should get attendees sodas through their whole time playing games and utilizing the facility. One 6oz ginger ale was 3-4$ Games: over half of the cards that were made were not correctly activated. We kept having to find our event host/ attendee to remake cards. We were told that the activation dates get messed up in the system when they make cards. If this is a known issue, your system should be redone and cards should be made ahead of time and tested for activation. This issue kept our guest of honor away from interacting with her guests and enjoying the games to keep addressing card issues. We were also not instructed until after the fact, that cards would only work on rainbow-colored swipers. And this left some confusion for guests. Or that the points earned from games were not applicable to the gift shop. When we booked the event we were told we would have 2-3 attendants but only ever saw one. It was hard for her to keep up with the food, game issues and trash as no trash can was provided for the room- Only a bag that ended up on the floor with two toddlers in the party. She handled all issues with grace as it appeared the Main Event was short-staffed. She was very kind and Courteous to the event owner and guest of honor. Overall, we had a good time with the arcade and bowling and had enough space in our room to host the party at the Main Event. The facilities are clean and inviting and lots of options for entertainment. The staff is courteous and helpful. read more

We went for a fun birthday event with the family and bought the fun day passes. They were $20 each. Also no one told us that the games would be discounted if we got food. The passes were to allow bowling, billiards, laser tag, and gravity. We were told that if everyone in our group had the pass we could bowl unlimited. Turns out that was false. It's only unlimited when the place isn't busy so don't get the passes on a Friday or Saturday night bc it will be a waste. The regular lanes are like $30/hr and you must have a reservation. Shoes are not included in the rate. They turned off our lanes after 1 hour (we didn't finish the first round) because it was busy. A server took forever to come over and by the time food came we had to give up our lanes. The food that I tasted was tasty. The experience was so bad that a manager gave us 1 hour free games. All the machines didn't work, but because the hour was free we just played the ones that didn't give problems. The kids and I started having a good time once we played the arcade games. While it didn't let us get tickets, we got to play and have fun with the games. The games are very expensive if you don't have the unlimited passes. I will say about $0.17 per credit and you need a minimum of 7.5 credits for the games. The bathrooms were not clean and I had to get a stranger in the stall next to me to give me tissue. Upside, of the games that worked we had a good time. Also the bowling was fun (the part we could play), the music was good, the laser tag was fun, and the gravity thing was terrifying (lol). I will not likely return but if I were you, I would come earlier in the daytime so that you don't have to have limits on the bowling and only buy cards for games with the food, not the kiosk. Also be sure to ask about the unlimited cards to see if they can be purchased. read more

Took my son to a birthday party here today. One star because he had a ball with his friends and I can't leave 0 stars and because the manager did her best to help solve the issue that I'm about to explain. I go to the winner's circle with my son and wait in line for about 20 min...get to the front and the chick tells me I can't check out on that side of the counter. Stupid to me because you see me standing here holding items from in the store and you say nothing. No signs. Not a single word. I'm annoyed but I go to the inside to the line and wait another 15 minutes on a group of kids in front of me and my son. I get to the register and I tell her I have 99 points on one card from my brother and 380 on the other which is mine. My total is 425 points for our stuff. She's just looking at me crazy so I assume I'm suppose to be swiping one of the cards...it's my first time redeeming stuff so idk and she doesn't say a word!! I swipe and the card has nothing on it so I swap with my son who was holding the 99 point card and swipe it. She tells me I have 99 points. Okay....I knew that, I don't need to check my balance. I want to use those toward the 425 balance and I have another one with 380. She goes okay so you wanna combine your points? I tell her yes. She takes the 99 point card and the 380 point card and swipes them at the register next to her. She re rings my stuff up and hands me a card back. I look to my brother and ask him does he have the other card and he says yes (assuming im asking about the 0 point card). So we head back out to spend the last little money from the 380 point card which should now have 54 points and $3.65 left. We swipe and my brothers name pops up. Nope...this isn't my card so I look in the small purse that I brought in and both my pockets as well as my son's pockets. We retrace our steps and realize that the girl only gave me one card back and kept the other. I go to winner's circle and say hey I think you kept my card that's registered to me, can I get it back. She looks at me and says with the nastiest attitude " I gave you both of your cards back!" So I look at my brother, son, and mom and say "none of y'all have my card right?" They all say no. I tell her, you only gave me one card. You didn't even hand it to me, you laid it on the counter and I picked it up. She tells me again with the same rude tone and poor customer service "No. I gave you both of them back". So I just walked off because I was now 100% sure that she had my card and I really wanted to put my hands on her for having such a trashy ass attitude. So I went to a manager and explained what happened. When we swiped my brother's card, it shows 54 points and $3.65. My brother only had $0.70 on his card and 99 points before so we knew this wasn't right. The manager gave me another card and points reimbursed. I appreciate her for that but my main concern was that those two imbeciles working at winner's circle should not be in customer service until they learn how to talk to other humans. I would have been cool with an "okay I didn't give it back, sorry let me replace it." But no...I get a bitchy attitude from someone who is totally in the wrong...and needs training really badly. read more

Avoid if you hate 2 hour long lines! I have never seen such lines. This was my first and last visit. I did not know which line meant what. I was in a group of four so we split up for to stand in different lines to see what they meant. My mom ended up standing in the 'Bowling Only' line and had to come in our line for the 'Play All Day' wristbands. Once we got the wristbands we asked the woman how we signed up to do everything and she pointed out where (in a very monotone and unhappy voice). So we put our names down for bowling first and they said it was a 2 hour wait! Crazy! So we decided to eat first. The best part, and the only thing that I enjoyed was the food and our server, I believe her name was LaShanta. She was massively overworked but she still had a happy face and helpful demeanor. We ate and our name was called so we went and got our shoes. When we went to go bowl by the time we all got up to our lane and put our shoes on we already wasted 5 of our 60 minutes! We then spent 20 minutes trying to find a waiter or waitress to order drinks from. The second our 60 minutes was up the staff pounced on us to get out (even though there were about 5 lanes next to us open). So we quickly moved on the stand in the 'Winner's Choice' line to sign up for laser tag and the ropes course. Once we got up to the front they told us that the next time slots were 5:30 and 5:20, respectively. It was 3:00pm at that time! We left after that. Spent $18.95 per person and we only got to bowl. This place needs to go under new management and reevaluate how they are running it. Will not go back unless I see an "Under New Management" sign on its building. read more

I had my sons birthday party here yesterday. I spoke with this location several times before booking the party and they also called to follow up and confirm everything before the party date. Seemed like everything was going to go great and everything was in line until the day of the party. The day of the party I found out that EVERY adult no matter if they are clearly over the age of 17 MUST have an ID to enter the facility. With all of the phone calls before the party every single person I spoke with failed to mention this. I had guest clearly over the age of 17 turned away at the door because they didn't have their ID. I asked for the general manager because this was a huge issue because we had some guest drive 30min to get there already. I was told to speak with the manager AK and instead of her helping with the situation that Main Event failed to let me know before hand she chose to go back and fourth with me on why some of my guest do not have their ID and how every adult should have an ID at all times as if it isnt possible to forget a wallet or purse or some people just don't carry their ID around at all times. After going back in fourth with me for a few minutes she then decided to notify security to let one of my guest in but after that guest "its a rap" as she said meaning no one else could come in without ID after that. My son's father who had already been running late from work showed up shortly after that situation and realized he forgot his wallet. He was turned away at the door because he did not have his ID. He had to drive 30min BACK home to get his ID then 30min BACK to Main Event just to enter. The other staff members were more concerned and trying to help out more than the manager. The manager and security at the door were extremely rude and made it very difficult for myself and my guest. I attempted to speak with the corporate office on this issue instead of writing a review but tried twice and could not reach anyone. So hopefully they will see this review and train their staff better on how to handle situations that seem so small a little better than how it was handled. And maybe have their staff start informing their guest BEFORE the party day or include on the contract the requirments needed to enter the facility. read more

I've only been to 2 Main Events: Memphis and Atlanta. Let me tell you this, Memphis ain't Atlanta. It wasn't as clean and some of the staff aren't as friendly, but the drive is decent and 80% of the staff are actually really fun and sweet. I usually go for the arcade bc Incredible Pizza has been conquered by children everywhere! Many people complain about it being too crowded or it'll get too rowdy and fights will happen but here's the thing: crowded businesses are great bc it gives the city more of a chance to have fun places like this so people like me won't have to drive hours for a fucking arcade; also, when you live in Memphis for as long as I have in neighborhoods as bad as I have, fights may happen, but that doesn't mean it will. Just enjoy your fun and if a fight were to break out, be a civilized human being and get an authority figure and get the fuck out. read more

We were so amped up about this place because we thought it would be similar to Dave and Busters. Boy were we wrong. As soon as you walk in the door no one greeted us and after standing around for a while we approached the Hostess who's response to all of our questions was "I'm not quite sure". We decided to sit down and eat but it took forever to get a server. When we finally did we waited 45 minutes just to get our water and obviously even longer to get food. The Main Event is new to Memphis. It's a family friendly place for fun. It has a Dave and Busters feel to it. There are plenty of games to chose from for people of all ages. They have bowling, laser tag, a gravity ropes course, pool tables and a restaurant with a full menu and bar. Most activity can be completed using a card. You can put money on a card or purchase time. Each option has its advantages. Some games pay out tickets good to be redeemed in the gift shop. The tickets are loaded on the card so there is no need to carry them around. As long as the wifi is working properly, this is great. It's best to go during the day. After 6pm, it gets really crowded and hard to do anything. read more

Went here with co-workers and had a blast. Slightly expensive but expected when you come to places like this. Two captain and cokes cost me around 18 bucks, phew. Didn't have anymore after that bill. Husband got the chicken tenders and fries and our friends got the big pretzel that was $8 and pizza slices 4-5 bucks a piece. After playing pool we went to the arcade area and play games for the next hour. Along with at least 6 pool tables, bar, restaurant, arcade, they have bowling, laser tag, and a high ropes course. Will be back to try more things. Almost impossible to do everything within a couple of hours and have a limit on spending. We came after 10pm because that's when the kids are supposedly kicked out and adults only. Though we did have to avoid some kids running through the pool area playing tag. They had a lot of security but I don't think theres much they can do about the kids. read more

The birthday girl ordered a full range of wings, burgers, salads, and hotdogs for her event! The people here take up your plates and wait on you hand and foot! Horrible Experience spend too much with a date. Great concept but management Sucks Manager was confrontational! Big Bright Sign look pretty cool from outside! Games are expensive, half of them are not even working, bowling took forever to bowled, then we decided to pay pool the line take forever to get drinks at the bar, and the billard was told that it was a first come first served based. but when there was finally a table open the manager told us it was reserved we try to sign up for a list Wast of money and time! They have this mentality they they are right and you are wrong, pay us your money and get nothing, we ask for a refund and they kick us out, next time we're heading to Dave and Bustard !!! Let me start with the bad. We went to order drinks. But the bartender we got acted like he was high on something to me. He kept talking to other people (really one girl he went to school with) while he was making our drinks. Then he made them wrong. Nasty. It took him 5x as long to make a drink than his counterparts. Now the good part. They have so many games to play. My son and his friends had a blast. The screens over the bowling area was a great idea. We danced and bowled all night. Don't waste your money. There isn't a ton to do in Memphis, and places like this add to the problem because of cost. To do everything here it would cost a family of 4 well over $300 and you haven't even eaten yet. So when we got here today, we took advantage of the $14.95 all-day play. We came specifically to do the ropes course. To our dismay, they were performing safety tests on the course and was not included. We were BUMMED to say the least. But after talking to the manager, she gave us an hour of unlimited video games in exchange for the ropes course being closed. That was great! We spent hours of playing bowling, billiards, shuffleboard, video games and TONS of amazing laser tag! Just before we left, they opened the ropes course and let us go on it anyway!!! That is GREAT service. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The space is large, cool, and very clean! It was a great way to spend our day with 4 kids in this intolerable Memphis summer heat! I took my daughter here and we had a good time. There was not a huge crowd so we were able to enjoy each machine. One thing for sure I noticed is this place can be expensive if you want to have a good time. Bowling to me is over priced but the laser tag is within range and the fun is out of this world. I went to a party sponsored by work. There was wide variety of activities including video games and laser tag as well as the obvious bowling. Very friendly staff. The food in our buffet was disappointing, however-- weird dried out pseudo-cornbread, beans that seemed like basic canned, and barbecue that was tasty but stringy. So I can't quite bring myself to give a 5/5, but they were close-- and I would recommend them for small or large groups, particularly if you are all fairly young and active and/or love video games. read more

This Main Event is one of a kind I mean it I'm not going to say anything else so you can get a full effect with actions and not words.

I have now been to 4 different main events. I love the layout and what they offer. I have two kids so it's nice to have a lot of options under one roof. So far the Memphis location had been the worse. I would have given it one star - but you gotta admit- that gravity ropes is really fun. That aside- the rest should be simple. Smile, customer service and try and have fun. I mean - you work for main event. This location makes it hard to smile. The staff was moody and seemed lacking common sense. Oh - and grammar ,but who am I to judge. The food was simple and the same price as all others. The thing I scoff at is each time something was ordered a staff member walked down the entire row asking if this is what they ordered. Not sure how the order appears but I would imagine " table x" or similar would appear on the ticket. One of the things that get us is the fact as soon as you sit- boom! A waiter/waitress appears- takes your order - then you never seen them again. It's cool though. Saved me a tip since I refilled myself and got my own napkins and silverware. It's a shame cause it's nice when you walk in. I wanted to give it a better rating. Better luck next time. Oh. I ran into two ladies aggravated about the measuring of their kids and had to shield my kids ears as she was spouting racist remarks towards the staff(not cool ever) so I'm not sure who else they made angry- but so much negativity in this place. read more
