I was skating and I see a blue bandanna being flown around. Clear gang activity and nothing was done. Simply unsafe and ridiculous. It's 16 dollars to enter yet they can't ensure any type of safe environment. I was devastated and probably won't be coming back. It's unsafe. No wonder this place had a gun threat less than a month ago. Mike do better.

It's not huge, but there are two big bowls, plenty of ramps and rails, stairs and a snake run. There's plenty for skaters of all levels in the $500,000 park. Some bowls are deep, some ramps are steep, but there are lots of easier sections for beginners. If you're not into skating, there are plenty of benches perfect for watching. The park is open to all ages, but skaters play at their own risk. Protective gear is recommended for adults, and kids under the age of 12 are required to wear protective gear (knee pads, elbow pads and a helmet) and be accompanied by an adult. The park isn't just for skateboarders. Roller skates, inline skates and bicycles are welcome at the park (Monday is the park's designated bike day). The skate park is located at Tobey Park, behind the Board of Education (at Central and Hollywood). It's free and open from 6 a.m. - 6 p.m. in the fall and winter and from 6 a.m. - 8 p.m. during the spring and summer.

It costs $15 + a charge for skates. While it may seem expensive, it is also very expensive to operate an ice rink particularly in the south. There is a pro-shop inside to purchase skates and hockey equipment. They can sharpen ice skates and provide other services. The place is kept clean and tidy. It is important to check the calendar because public skating may be limited due to hockey games and tournaments. The University of Mississippi hockey team plays here, and you can attend/watch hockey games here. There is a roller skating rink down the street, should you want to skate and ice skating is cancelled due to hockey, but the Ice House is much nicer than the Roller rink.
