Mailboxes & More has decided that they don't make enough money-SO-they are charging me $1 to "store" the package I just dropped off to be returned via USPS! What did I say- "I'll take back my package and the letter I just gave you to mail. You are no longer getting my business." Then I left through the same door I entered-the one that has been broken and hardy opens. The same door that has been in that poor condition for at least one year. They mismeasured my package by a couple inches and thus were going to overcharge me for mailing my pkg. I even asked the clerk to confirm the measurement and she still quoted me the wrong measurement. So, I went elsewhere to ship it. Disappointed... used them in the past w/no problem. read more

Now they charge $1 for every package you take there. If you don't want to accept packages from the usps, ups, fedex, etc., then go into the mailbox and shipping business. I don't think it's right and to be honest I don't think they are allowed to do that or should be allowed to do that. I will be reporting them to the usps. And I will no longer be coming here. I star is too good. I've been popping in there off and on through the years. I ship packages on a daily basis with ups and fedex. I have received attitude everytime I have gone there, rude people, not helpfull. This time I went in I was dropping a fedex package off, asked for a receipt and they refused. Not ok. Many of us need to retain receipts for proof of drop, this is not an uncommon practice, it's a standard business practice. There is a postal Annex just a few miles away on Cedar Hills (2850 SW Cedar Hills, Beaverton). Owner is pleasant, gratefull for the business, and very helpful, as is his staff. He got my business today. I will never go back to mailboxes and more. Being rude was bad enough, this takes the cake. read more

Wow! I walked in today and heard the guy talking on the phone in the back, waited a couple min and he finally came out. He saw I had two packages to drop off and says you can just leave them here. I asked for a receipt and he says no, we don't give receipts. I've been coming here for over 20 years so I know he was lying. Usually, they will scan the packages and can print a receipt to show the packages brought in. I said, oh, I can usually get a printout when I come here. He says "then you can just go somewhere else." What an absolute jerk, unbelievable response. He was just being too lazy to scan my packages and print anything and further decided to respond with something extremely rude. I asked for his name, it sounded like Raji. But I'll further update if my packages become conveniently "lost" I hope Raji is the owner, otherwise he needs to be fired. read more

I was a long time, loyal customer of this business "back in the day". Recently, I had occasion to need to rent a PO Box and stopped by to chat with them about it. What a change! Prior to the new owners taking over around two years ago, this was a solid five star business. Under new management, it seems to be a solid one star business.... and it would probably be at an even lower rating except that one star is as low as you can get on Yelp. Talked to a young Asian Indian fellow who I'm guessing probably wasn't the owner. He was not overly interested in talking about why I should rent a box there versus one of their competitors. He showed me the three mailbox sizes and pretty much walked away from me. No further discussion was needed as far as he was concerned, apparently. My take is that this business now focuses on selling cheap gifts, greeting cards and various novelties. They really don't seem to be focused on anything to do with mailboxes, shipping and so on. Sadly, there are very few mailbox/shipping options in the Cedar Mill area. The UPS store, which is close by has served me well in the past However, they also have a LOT of very negative reviews, mostly having to do with nickle and diming customers to death. And as far as mailbox pricing goes, the UPS store is in the absolute stratosphere! So renting a box from them is highly unlikely. The deal breaker for me at Mailboxes and more is that mailboxes can only be accessed during regular business hours which just wouldn't work for me. Major bummer. The staff is awesome and always willing to answer any questions. Very convenient location, so you don't have to drive all the way across town to mail letters or packages, specially oversized packages. The hours are convenient as well. And if you get hungry or need to buy something, there are several restaurants and stores close by within walking distance. read more

I've been coming to this place for over a decade, dropping off packages every week and getting drop off receipts each time. Today I went as usual and the man behind the counter refused to take my package (insisting I leave it on a counter in the middle of the store where anyone can access it) and refused to give me a printout, which I always get when I do drop offs. He was shockingly rude and said I could go somewhere else because "Mailboxes & More never gives printout receipts," (not at all true, I got one four days ago), so I left. I won't be coming back again, and recommend Postal Annex 190 to everyone. They give a receipt and keep your packages safe. It was a really unpleasant experience because he was so rude, and I ultimately was not confident that leaving my (valuable) package was a good idea given his behavior. read more

I've had nothing but horrible experiences with these folks. I tried giving them all sorts of time to do things differently after they took over but I'm done. They raised rates without any notice when they took over. They regularly do not send me renewal notices and then charge late fees. They will put final notices in my box when they've never given me a first notice and are horrible when you try to talk to them about it. I've had staff that I've never met before be super rude to me. So disappointing and incredibly frustrating. Your mail is too important to trust these folks with it. read more

Don't ask to use the tape. I did cause I noticed a hole in my box. I casually asked if I could borrow the tape (it's a shipping place after all.) I was given the third degree about why I needed it. Then I was told I still couldn't use it, but that for a $1 fee the man would come out from behind the counter with the tape and place a 2 inch piece over the hole for me. I thought it was a joke but his face said he was dead serious. So he put the tape on and I paid the dollar using 4 quarters. Most akward money exchange ever. He didn't deserve it, he didn't earn it in my opinion, but he insisted. 6 year customer. I've shipped, gotten keys copied, made at least $50 worth of photo copies, even rented a mail box from them for a year. They switched ownership and they now act like this. Making someone pay for a 2 inch piece of tape at a shipping place is the equivalent of a resturaunt charging for napkins. It's tacky. Making someone explain why they need tape at a shipping store is simply degrading and beyond rude. Like I'm some criminal trying to "scam" tape. Give me a break. I was so embarrassed for that worker and his evaluation of the cost of his "labor". Pathetic. He didn't even seem remotely embarrassed of the interaction, no self awareness. With a stingy and suspicious attitude like that, he's not going to go far in life. If a two inch piece of tape is worth loosing a 6 year customer over, then they obviously don't deserve my business. I'll be happy to take my money elsewhere. They just got their last dollar out of me. I have shipped packages from Mailboxes & More for years and years, but after a recent experience, I won't be returning. The shop changed hands earlier in the year, and it wasn't an improvement. Packing and shipping supplies were replaced with tacky gifts, cheap jewelry and saris. I go there to ship packages, not buy gifts from India. Prices for shipping seemed to rise quite a bit with the new ownership. The last straw was when I paid almost $50 to ship cookies to my mother for Christmas, explaining that they were fragile and needed to be packed carefully in a large box to avoid damage. The clerk pulled a box that was too small. I asked for a larger one, once again explaining the reason. She didn't pull a larger box for me but promised to use a larger one. That's not at all what happened. The clerk did not use a larger box, the contents arrived damaged, and I'm very unhappy. The clerk not only failed to fulfill my request, she lied to me about it. So, now they have lost a steady, longtime customer. I wouldn't be surprised if the new owners run the business into the ground. Oh well, That's the way the cookie crumbles! read more

I print the label and go to this store to get a box, which the USPS site says are free at any postoffice.. but wait... they want to charge me $2.00 for the box. I LOVE this place! The employees are really friendly and helpful, they have great copier machines, and they are fast and efficient. I've been to some other similar types of businesses in the area and this one by far out surpasses any of the ones I've been too. I always use them for any of my shipping or copy needs. Tried to be helpful, but person helping me did not seem to understand how to use their shipping software. Lots of miss information that took a while to correct. Told me they would ship FedEx, but when I reviewed my receipt it was on UPS; this was not a problem because the price and delivery dates were essentially the same, but it was miss information again. The emphasis of the business model seems to be moving from shipping to non-shipping retail items. I hope the owners realize that reason most customers enter their store with shipping on their mind and will remember their shipping experience first when talking with friends. read more

I went to this store to ship a 3 lb package to Jacksonville, SC via FedEx Ground. The cost for the shipment was quoted to be at $39.49. The clerk suggested this was pretty expensive but it was the cost, so I stupidly paid it. Later I did some research and found that the FedEx Ground rate for shipping a 3 lb package to the ease coast was $12.05 but they have something called "dimensional weight now" for this package calculated out to be $18.90. I went back to Mailboxes & More and asked about the difference and got several stories about a holiday rate or a special fee for this zip code which I really don't buy. The bottom line, I have made my last visit to this store and would advise others to beware. read more

Last time I give them a chance. The owners changed ? about a year ago. I loved the old owners.. very quick, professional, helpful. The last time I was in about a month ago the person at the desk didn't seem to know how to run the computer and it took FOREVER and she had to redo it three times. Ok I gave them another chance. I needed a passport photo-- I CALLED AHEAD to ask if they do them, machine working etc.. said OK I'll be right over. I get there and the woman at the front desk ( same one I talked to earlier) says " Oh gee I've never done one..can you come back on Monday when the owners are here?"!!!! really.... I'm done.. There is a post office a block away at Bales, I went to Walgreens where I got my passport photo in less than five minutes ( it is less than a block away). No reason to EVER go back here. Shame... since I used to go there all the time for packages, stamps etc.. not any longer.. total incompetence. read more

Update: The previous owners sold the business to a nice young couple recently. The older gentleman who formerly owned the place was getting too tired/forgetful and he was making a lot of costly mistakes. It's good to know when to throw in the towel and to retire. Still a great place with lots of different services such as a notary, international shipping, and a fax machine. You can also do UPS dropoffs. Glad we have them in the neighborhood. read more

I am very disappointed with the new owners. There are numerous signs posted around the shop saying things such as " These boxes are NOT free, you must pay for them" or " You must have packages taped up yourself before coming to the counter, tape is for sale". Seriously, we have to pay for a strip of tape?! To top it all off, I went there 10 minutes before closing last night and was told that the register was already closed. The sign on the door said they were open until 7 pm and it was clearly not yet 7. When I pointed this out to the clerk she informed me that I could come back tomorrow and speak to the owner. ZERO customer service! In addition to the unfriendly atmosphere with all the negative signs posted and now this, guaranteed that I will never go here again. Ever. read more
