At the US Post office it is $9.85. The woman behind the counter charged me $17.71. When I asked if there was a mistake the woman behind the counter said post office rates have gone up. I said I sent one of these at the post office last year and it was less than $10. She said "no this is the current rate". I was in a hurry so I paid and left. Once I returned home I looked up the post office rate online and it is $9.95. I called and when I asked her about the markup that they have, she rudely said with an attitude "we are not the post office". I said "do you have a rate sheet so I know what I would be charged in the future if I brought another envelope?" She said "no, it is whatever comes up in the computer, I just work here. Complain to the manager." The envelope was already sealed and addressed, it just needed a priority mail postage. The way the price was presented to me was deceptive. I could understand if they charged a small fee or if they had to pack up an item and charge for that, but this was just a rip off. The woman behind the counter could have easily said that the price they charge has nothing to do with the price the post office charges. Instead she blamed the high cost on the USPS recently raising rates. Lesson learned, I will not be using A1A "rip off" Pack and Ship at Driftwood Plaza, 3830 S. HWY A1A Suite 4, Melbourne Beach, FL 32951 Tel. # 321-726-1667 for anything going forward. Do yourself a favor and avoid A1A pack and rip off. Go to a genuine UPS, USPS, Staples or some other place that has an honest and transparent pricing policy!

A permanent, career postman knows his/her job, but the new people are untrained and thrown out (and belittled everyday). We cannot expect reliable delivery. My neighbors get a few pieces of mail a week and 1/2 of my packages that started out with FedEx and were handed off to the post office (their agreement). West Mel post office is one of the best in Brevard and they still are fraught with overburdened related mistakes. To the workers A+ job, to the supervisors, through to the POSTMASTER you're the ones doing the crummy job. Mail tracked delivered, ended up blocks away at someone else's house. My good neighbor brought it to me.

They used to have boxes and packing supplies, cards and decorative mailers. Now it's a bare interior that doesn't feel inviting at all. I truly appreciate that. Stopped in recently and witnessed a very nasty female customer berating the owner...owner had to use the restroom and being by herself,locked the door for 3 minutes. The woman beat on the door and screamed about how she waited 15 minutes...um no. I was in my car prior to my arrival. In any event the customer tried to verbally assault the owner - she handled it with grace and kindness, explaining herself. The woman stormed off to which the owner offered her a good day. ( the angry woman had one of those giant Jeeps parked in the fire lane out front). Definitely recommend! QUALITY**PROFESSIONAL. I don't use this facility to purchase cards or gifts, shipping only. I do know they have lottery.
