I came to this ASAP Passport Service because I needed to be ready to travel to the UK in about 2-3 weeks. If you try and expedite your passport through the post office I believe that you can get it within 3 weeks at the fastest. I needed mine quicker so I visited ASAP during my lunch hour with my completed forms and necessary items. Alex helped me to organize all my items properly so that I could take them to the post office to get notarized (that was another process). Once I had a my application and forms ready to go from the post office I brought my folder back to ASAP for them to handle. I turned in my materials on a Wednesday morning and picked up my passport the following Thursday afternoon. $150. Worth it if you need your passport quickly! read more

Both bad customer service and their prices are a complete ripoff. I came in here to ship some small bubbler mailer packages on my lunch break since I didn't have time to make it to an actual US Postal Service office. I of course assumed there would be some sort of price markup since they are acting as a 3rd party shipping through USPS. The packages were all domestic except for 1 package to Germany. The younger guy was the one helping me. I had told him to ship all packages as cheap as possible. He rang me up and told me my total was $48.xx, I was in complete shock! I asked him how much more they charge over USPS and he said 20% or so... I knew USPS would only be charging me around $29 and I told him this and his response to me was "well if you knew how much USPS would charge you should have gone there first". Really? That is the sort of customer service I am going to receive my first time in here? Just because I know what USPS wold charge doesn't mean it was convenient for me to go. Well today I went to USPS a full 2 days later and my total for the same exact packages came out to $29.53 and the package to Germany was only $13 which is half what Mail Box Services Plus tried charging me and the normal packages were $2.67 unlike the $4.xx this place tried charging me. Around 40% more for the same exact service AND horrible customer service on top of it. I really recommend people stay away from this place. read more

I went to today to have my passport photo and renewal application sent and I was blown away with the customer service. The gentleman who assisted me (cant remember his name but was there at 330p) was incredibly friendly. He also went over every single option I had in terms of expedited service. He asked when I needed it by and told me I didnt have to send it rushed (saved me a bunch of $.) Just a flat out good guy. I had just been to Walgreens to have my photo taken and it took an hour for them to finally come back to me and say they couldnt figure it out! Here it literally took less than a minute! I could not recommend these guys any more if I tried. I came in right as they were closing and they were as enthusiastic about customer service as I imagine they are when they just open. Everyone is very nice and they even drove my packages over to a nearby store who hadn't been visited by UPS yet so my packages would get in early. My husband & I need to renew our passports. The people at this place were so helpful and did everything that needed to be done in a timely manner. About 3 weeks after our renewal, we received our passports with no problems. We have also sent several of our friends to this place & they have also been happy. The only reason I gave four stars is the limited parking both in space & time. But if you go during non peak hours it should not be a problem. read more

UPDATE: OK WOW. Jimmy made a LIAR out of me. I boosted about this place , that I ended up here after another close by service refused to help me print a label as well as use some tape. I sent someone in to do the exact thing, let them know it would be a problem. I got a phone call moments later telling me they wasted their time going to this place, as they claim they have NEVER DONE THIS BEFORE. JIMMY, you know YOU HAVE printed shipping labels and me use tape for my packages. Your prices are also a bit too high so at this point, I am pulling my Original review and I will NEVER give you business EVER EVER again. Also, you'll loose my Passport business AND my PO Box. Consistency is KING, Jimmy. Dont EVER Forget that. After leaving a UPS Store (on Van Nuys at Victory) furious because the guy wouldn't give me any tape to tape up my box, I found ASAP driving around. I went in and Jimmy greeted me as if he knew me. I asked "hey, can I print a shipping label here?".. His response "Of Course!" He quickly gave me the email address, I sent him the label, and he printed it. I asked if I could use some tape to tkpe up my box, because at UPS store, they wanted me to buy an entire roll of tape of a 1 STRIP of tape. Jimmy said of no problem and handed me the tape gun. WOW! Talk about amazing service. So nice. So at the end of all my shipping needs, I asked Jimmy "so what do I owe you? He looked at me puzzled, and said "nothing!" So I insisted on giving him at lease a few bucks. All I was doing was dropping packages off with prepaid labels , so he wasn't making any money on them anyway. But instead of treating like a customer that wasn't being in any revenue, he treated me like I was spending 1000$ in there. Bottom line, I will go out of my way to ship at this store. These guys CARE. They are nice, courteous , and they are not after the buck ,like the crappy UPS store. Not only will I use these guys exclusively, I have told my girlfriend and a few close other friends about it and even showed them wear it is. bonus,: if you go on a saturday at noon, there is acting classes next door, and there is always hot girls in the parking lot. Then I came to this place and the man who was there greeted us with a smile and helped me get my passport. We found out that the lady we went to previously did my passport photos wrong! Don't go here!!!! I got a mail box and after one day wanted to cancel my service because I found an address that is not at a PO BOX location which looks better for business. I offered to pay for the month and asked for my key deposit and the remaining two months back or 47 dollars of the 75 I gave them for one day. I never had a single piece of mail delivered. Alex refused to give me any of my money back. Won't return emails. There is no early termination fee policy listed on his website, in his store or on the contract I signed His employee failed to give me a copy of the contract I signed and when i asked for a copy Alex wouldn't give me a copy of our agreement. His employee failed to looked at my two forms of ID which is required by law to open a PO BOX. I have listed him on ripoffreport dot com and filed a complaint with BBB and still he doesn't get in contact with me to make this right. read more

I have been a owner of a mail box here for maybe 5 years or more. When Jimmy was working there, I loved going in. I was treated kindly and quickly. Since the owner hired new people it has been the worst experience. You would think just going to get my mail, or stamps or mail a package to my grand-kids would be easy. Not a big deal. But the rude attitude of the guy who followed Jimmy was simply uncalled for. He was fired. But last week the new girl in there was so rude to me while mailing a package it is causing me to cancel my mail box at the end of the the month. I will go through the hassle of changing my address on may bills, etc.. just to not give Alex my business anymore. One rude comment or look can really mess up your day and quite frankly make me not want to even go pick up my mail and I drive a few miles to do that. Alex has always been nice. But he needs to hire people who treat the customers professionally and maybe with some common sense courtesy. I even go as far as to say the girl was Mean to me, all over me wanting a tracking number for a package. Give your money to small business owners who deserve it. Oh, once I even had a credit card returned because they said I did not have an address there. (again after Jimmy). It was embarrassing because I was using that card and it was declined. It was only after the fact that the bank told me my letter was returned so they had to cancel my card. read more

I've been a customer at Mailbox Services Plus for 10 years. I primarily use them for their mailbox service, but I have also used them for shipping, passport and other services as well. Alex, the owner, is always very helpful and so is his staff - previously Jimmy and now Bijan. They are quick, know what they are doing, have a solution for most everything and overall are good at what they do and provide. I've never had a problem or issue here. I firmly believe you can take your business to a more responsible place. Besides the owner woman being absolutely rude on a constant basis for absolutely no reason, my other issue was that a few times my packages went to other people and had to be recovered from them, one time they completely lost one. Last summer the Fedex package that I dropped off there vanished and my loss was not reimbursed by Fedex despite the purchased insurance bc they said they had no record of the package whatsoever. I couldn't do anything, lost a couple of bills on that... I received other people's mail on a regular basis (IRS letters / bank statements on multiple occasions - scary) and I'm sure they put some of mine in someone else's -- like the title of my car from my bank so DMV had to reissue it, took 2 months to finally get it. Ops, right? Alex, the other owner is a cool guy so I didn't complain as much as I should have or moved my box elsewhere. The owners claim that they provide an exceptional service, I wish they did. My old mail service place was much more responsible with distributing the mail to the right boxes. Wish them luck but I just no longer want to support a business who provides such sub-standard service. 7 or so years was just enough. I went to this post office with my boyfriend to renew his passport. We waited there for about 15 minutes while he took care of another customer. When he was done he came and greeted us and asked what we needed. He took one look at my boyfriend, not asking for his ID or anything and said he couldn't help us because we "LOOK" young and told us to go to another post office that is already closed. We are 21 years old. I was angry, but with my boyfriend being the kind and non confrontational man he is told me not to bitch him out. read more

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE. In October we went to get our passports renewed and paid for Tina the owner to fill out the application for us and expedite the service. Two months later we recieved a letter in the mail claiming that the application was incomplete and that we needed to fill out another application and submit it again. Clearly she overlooked an error on the application and this caused the passport renewal to be very delayed. Upon confronting her about the issue she was extremely rude, yelled at us, and would not offer us any kind of compromise for her mistakes. Above all, she was extremely unkind and unprofessional. This business does not know how to treat their customers and does so by yelling at them and talking over them. PLEASE do not come here and waste your money. Went in for passport visa pictures, the man took the picture with huge large old Polaroid camera and not digital. When finished, he asked me to pay first. Then he cuts the pictures and showed me. My head was turning away and not looking at the camera and the quality of the pictures was dark, so I asked him if the government agency will accept such photos. He guaranteed yes. So I took the pictures to the agency and they refused. I have to spend more money and retake the picture near the passport agency. . What a waste of time and $15 bucks. read more

I paid them $265 for a 2day passport expedite for my daughter and explained to them we needed to travel the following week, they assured me the passport would be there on time, 2 business days turned into 7, not only did i have to cancel my flight but pay the expensive airline penalty.
