Curious about their "sweet corn patties with mozzarella cheese" which were grilled on site (but seemingly bought packaged), I stopped despite the fact that I had recently consumed my lunch. For $4, I received a 'sandwich' wrapped in foil with a paper napkin cushioning my hand against the heat of the contents. It was about 4 inches in diameter, and fully heated through. It was reminiscient of a corny grilled cheese or a corny sauceless pizza. Since, hobbit-like, it was my 2nd mid-day meal, I couldn't believe I ate the whole thing, but then I figured it wouldn't reheat in a microwave all that well... It was a nice snack, but it is priced a little high to make it as a regular snack destination for me... more like a special sometime treat. PS - it is noted on the cart that the arepas are Gluten-Free.

I've been to this South End location a handful of times over the years just because of it's proximity to me, but the lack of customization with up charges for everything is a turn off. Also the last time I went, I wanted to have two proteins (half and half) and was charged for double proteins. My most recent order was the plate with pork en chile verde and al pastor. The chile verde pork was moist and flavorful, but the al pastor was very dry, tough, and there was no pineapple to be found. The portion sizes itself were decent, but compared to other nearby casual Mexican places, it doesn't hold up. However, I do appreciate how they serve the plate so you can taste each individual component without everything mixed together. You also have to ask for their hot sauce/salsa, they have a red and a green one. The green one is much better, but the red one does have a nice kick to it.

I ordered from there twice and had the Horchata, Elote, Burris Burrito, Madurai, & Grilled Chicken Burrito. Whew... each item was a home run and im thinking about going back to Boston to have this food again. They even called me to clarify my order since they were about to close and didn't want to make any mistakes. From what i can tell most people don't dine in, that this is more of a good food fast type of place. But i would definitely like to sit in and eat the food fresh.

I always prefer whole pickles for that freshly sliced crispness, and the half sours are my preference. Grillo's gives you that unique garlicky, briny, flavor with a not-so-subtle lemony twist. Whether sliced in rounds or spears, or diced in tartar, Grillo's is my go-to pickle. Now...I won't deduct any stars for the plastic tub, but I challenge you to open a new container without spilling a good amount of brine on your countertops, and maybe even slicing your finger on the plastic. But , this juice is worth the squeeze, and once you manage to get that lid off, you'll be rewarded with a GREAT pickle!
