Rude, insensitive, entitled lady behind the counter. Denied her treat of Denta Stix which shes had for ten years, saying it's a choking hazard. This lady was on a power trip, not nice, not welcoming, doesn't like her job obviously. Filled all the papers out. Dog had all necessary vacinations. She bent down and tried to put a lease around her neck. Dog has cataracts and is hard of hearing too. Dog snipped at her. I asked her to give the dog a few minutes to calm down since this is a stranger she cant see trying to put something around her neck. She refused and told us she couldn't take out dog!!!! At the last moment before we leave for out week long vacation she says she can not take the dog!!!!!! No apologies just flat out can't take her!! We had no one or no where to take her since it's the Fourth of July weekend!! This person didn't care about any of that. Ruining our vacation didn't matter to her. To top if off I was told by a Danielle that she'd hate to report my dog to animal control if she bit anyone!! This dog who has had a rabies shot was going to be reported to animal control?? Are you kidding me? For what for them to come take and euthanize her? Stay far away from this place. The store manager was no better except supporting his staff! I wouldn't leave a fly here!!

Upon checkout the guy worker was also pleasant and as he scanned made sure all the clearance prices were ringing up correctly which was amazing. As a customer, I definitely felt like my time being there was valued by employees and they both made sure to go above and beyond to cater what I needed. Petco has done well with me over the past few years since my cat's on a special kidney diet, and as anyone who's had cats knows, their fussy eaters. After working with my vet about 2 years ago, we got puddy settled into her new diet and she's finally acclimated with her routine. When I was growing up we had a dog and we had that dog on Science Diet dog food. I also had a Beagle who ate science diet since he was over weight and getting these bags of food is somewhat expensive and this was before the day and age of the internet. So, coming to stores like this was imperative. But here's where I love Petco. In my area, there's only two stores that carry Puddy's Royal Canin wet food for her kidneys in the loaf style can, and that's Petco! (the other one's pet supplies plus.) I buy the cans about 5 or 6 at a time since a case (24 cans) is $70 on Chewy. The reason I get 5-6 can's at a time is because my cat's primarily on a dry food grazing diet. Wet foods only on request. Sometimes puddy will pass on the wet food for a few days and since I don't want it spoiling, I don't buy in large quantities. So, off to Petco we go. During the pandemic, there was a huge pet food shortage, and Petco saved me a few times by having it available and in stock when other places didn't. The food shortage went on for a good long while and it was rough there for a hot minute. But, they did me right and always came through when I placed an order and had it, compared to Petsmart who doesn't carry half of what I need anymore. The joy of shopping here is not only do they have my specialty food, but I can order in advance on their website and it'll be ready for pickup when I'm there. Sometimes they'll have it on sale and I do save a few bucks but I also like seeing what else they have here. I've picked up a few other things while here in the past which helps. The staff here's good, but for a while there, it was slacking. I appreciate them, especially post pandemic. They also do pet adoptions which is great. They have a grooming center for dogs, but puddy doesn't need grooming, so we don't go. I think they might have a vet area, but we have a specialty cat vet so I don't utilize that either. Overall, fabulous!

Tons of toys at reasonable prices, crates for dogs, reptiles, fish, ferrets for sale, you name it. The staff here's friendly and helpful too. I was shopping in the cat toy area and a lady asked if I needed help or had any questions. She also rang me up when I checked out too! Overall a great store and impressive with selection and quality. Most employees are well rehearsed on animal needs or at least the ones that they own themselves. I signed up for the pet club to earn points and get discounts since I have 2 fish tanks and 14 female Guinea pigs! They were super helpful and the owner was extremely friendly when giving us information. They went above and beyond when trying to find the best deal for a 60 gallon tank. Even helped load the heavy oak stand into the truck after hours. Helped with tank stocking so it would be a very peaceful community with lots of live plants which are low maintenance. Wonderful selection of Guinea pig toys, mine can't get enough of them! My ONLY complaint with this store is the sale of live animals. They have wayyyy too many Guinea pigs in the cages and too many rabbits in small wire-bottom cages. They do however have plenty of food, water, ect but no room to run & high chances of disease spreading. Rabbits and Guinea pigs run a high chance of spreading diseases which are deadly to Guinea pigs. The acrylic tanks/cages allows for too much ammonia build up which can cause URIs. For an unsuspecting new pet parent, they would shrug off as sneezing. Antibiotics are fairly cheap but has to be bought from a vet after diagnosis which many parents wouldn't do for a "childs pet". There are soooo many Guinea pigs in shelters and rescues in need of new homes and wish that they'd try rehoming before mass breeding at the store. Also, don't buy hamster, Guinea pig, or small animal cages here! None are large enough or for hamsters offer deep enough trays to fulfill the minimum requirement of 6-8in of bedding. For Guinea pigs, Midwest, C&C, or homemade is the way to go. Hamsters have more suitable options both store bought and homemade, just do some research!
