My dog loves going to Rexpointe. The only downside is their prices. The have significantly raised their prices over the last couple years.

My Archie LOVES going to Rexpointe. We frequently use the daycare , boarding, and grooming. I know when I drop off Archie at Rexpointe, he is getting a good safe care. Unlike many day cares that let your dog play all day with 20-30 other dogs in one place, Rexpointe has scheduled dog play and keeps the groups maximum 6 dogs with one attendant for every 3 dogs. This approach is the safest for dogs. Also this small group play allows the dogs to actually enjoy play time instead of getting overwhelmed with so many dogs in one area. Archie loves everyone that works at Rexpointe and I know they love him too. We are so thankful we found Rexpointe. I looked at lots of different places and tried petsmart hotel a few times. We decided to bring our two dogs here after looking at their facility. The staff were friendly and allowed us to come and view their place and explain different options you can add. This place is not a fancy, posh pet hotel but it's just as good with everything they provide. My two small dogs were able to share a room so they can be together. They open up their own run if the weather is nice so they can freely go outside and inside. It's a long, strip of grass they can go outside and it's fenced so they can see the other dogs but still stay safe. You can add trail walks or private playtime for a small cost and choose which days you would want it. We interchanged between the walks and playtime daily for variety. They also upload photos of your pets on their Facebook if you want to see how they are doing. The only downside is that they don't have video cameras to see your pets. I recommend this place to my friend and she was really happy as well. The cost is great and they provide great service. I get nervous sending my dogs overnight but I felt more comfortable than when I sent them to the hotel. Just knowing they can go on private trail walks and have private play provided me comfort. read more

Have done boarding and grooming for my three dogs thus far with Rexpointe and I'm absolutely loving their services! My dogs have never had anyone else groom them but me (in all honesty, I haven't done such a good job at staying on top of it either so they're not used to being groomed; thus, it was time for me to come to terms with the fact that I needed to find someone else to do it for me). I was super nervous for them and the groomer but I'm so glad I found Rexpointe as shockingly, there seemed to be no issues whatsoever the two times they've been groomed here. Hurray! I've also utilized their boarding services for a little over a week trip. All three of my dogs seemed content and well taken care of during their stay. They posted daily pictures of them which I appreciated greatly! They also provided me with super cute report cards for each one of them via their portal site at the end of their stay. Overall, they seem to know what they're doing and are on top of things. Highly recommend as I will definitely be utilizing their services from now on. They don't take proper care of cats . My cat was whining the whole time after she came back . I asked the lady in front desk why they did not take any pictures of her playing and also suggested to post cat photos separately from dogs . She basically said we are doing photos for free and so basically she intents to say they are not open for any suggestions as though it's a favor . She spoke to me like she did a favor by taking care of my cat . I have the sweetest cat with absolutely no problems and extremely soft Won't go back .she ate like anything after coming home. I'd never kenneled my dogs prior to choosing Rexpointe. Of course, they came with glowing reviews from my family- aunts, grandma, parents- as they have all used Rexpointe for years. As this time period was over the Fourth of July, I needed a reservation which at first was unavailable. I got lucky when they called back and was able to book both boys in a large kennel. Rexpointe offers additional services a la carte for your pups such as one on one play time with a worker, group play with the other dogs, and long walks back on their extensive property. I booked both of my boys up for activities while they were there for a week, added on a grooming package for when they were home. Rexpointe even offers a selection of food should you not want to pack your own which is extremely helpful. Each day I was able to view photos taken of them in group play and posted on their Facebook. When I came to pick them up, I got a report card of their time spent- behaviors, etc. They almost seemed disappointed I was there to take them home because of how much fun they had. Just got off the phone with a employer who basically said our dog has too many health issues. He would feel uncomfortable if she stayed at this kennel. What the hell!!! Our dog is 17 years old and can still see a little and I don't appreciate when I call someone before him and she says "That y'all have a room specifically for older dogs. What is it Rexpointe do you have a area for older dogs or not? He kept saying that my dog would be uncomfortable. No it's this guy who would be uncomfortable with our dog. Y'all in the money business and customers dogs come after that! read more

This is the only place I trust my furbaby, Lucky, to stay! Lucky has a lot of separation anxiety and doesn't do well with big dogs (he's a miniature dachshund) and they know how to handle him! He gets walks alone and individual playtime I recently went out of country for a few weeks and left lucky there for a couple days a week leading up to my vacation just to get him adjusted and used to them and he loves it there! I sign him up for walks and he has a large fenced area to run around which makes me happy :) They offer dog food but I prefer to supply my own and they have no problems feeding him the way I specify. These people truly love dogs and know how to handle them. I would 100% recommend them to anyone looking for a great place to leave your pup! read more

About 6 years ago petsmart would not take my 14 year old Bichon because she couldn't walk. They will only take pets who can stand on their own. I called Rexpointe and they fussed over my baby sooo much!! They loved her as I would. After we had to send Baby to heaven we rescued a new dog. She loves going to Rexpointe and when we get out her go bag she is excited! The entire team loves my Honey boo-boo!! They are the best !! My dog absolutely loved her stay at Rexpointe! This was her first time boarding at a kennel and they did not disappoint. I was nervous at first as any pet owner probably is leaving their animal for the first time.. Although they didn't have cameras I got to see so many pictures of my dog playing! My dog looked like she was having the best time of her life!! We had her stay at Rexpointe for 7 days but then ended up being 10 days due to flight delays back home, Rexpointe gladly said it's okay for her to stay longer! My dog was not spayed at the time and they made sure to keep her away from males who were not neutered, which was amazing! I can tell how much these individuals care at Rexpointe and their love for these dogs. I had called back this July to try to get her to board again but unfortunately I didn't call ahead of time enough. I bring this up because the lady on the phone knew exactly who my dog was and said "I miss her, give her kisses and snuggles for me" and we continued to talk about my dog for a little bit and that is how I knew they cared so much! I definitely would recommend this place for anyone who is looking to board their dog as they get so much exercise and the people their truly care! We've been using the grooming here for our dog for a few years now, but recently used it for boarding for the first time and had a great experience. I am in absolute disbelief of the way I was treated by their staff today. In the past, I received rudeness from one their groomers but was trying to be understanding if she was having a bad day. Today I explained to her that I did not want my dog shaved, but merely trimmed to which she did not want to oblige and she replied "We can do that if you don't mind your dog looking ridiculous!" She also berated me for not bringing him in more often and implying I wasn't caring for him properly without knowing me or my personal situation! I told her I did not appreciate her ridiculing me and couldn't believe she was speaking to me this way. I picked up my dog and walked out. I'm horrified that she would talk to a customer this way and it concerns me even more how they're treating the pets!!! read more

I boarded my dog here while traveling. Without my permission and against my wishes they cut my dogs hair! When I called to discuss they told me that since i asked them to bath my dog that they also trimmed his hair on his head and around my face. They did a really bad job at it too, and now my dog just has this butchered hair cut. They did not have permission to cut his hair and I did not give them permission to groom him other than bathing. read more

I am so comfortable in this place and feel confident about the care they give my dog, Ranger. They are patient with his nervousness and understand that he can be picky with people he likes. I love that they post photos of him on Facebook each day so I can see what adventure/play date he had which is comforting. I highly recommend this place if you need to board your dog. It is very upsetting to have to leave this review but I feel for the health and safety of other animals I need to. I brought both of my dogs in to be groomed and I left them for the entire day from 8am to almost 8pm. Which I thought was a great service they offer for working people. They said they had no problem keeping them all day and would feed them if needed. All I asked was that my cocker Spaniel get extra water because he is on several heart medications for a bad heart. To my horror when I brought them home after the appointment they drank for a half an hour straight. My cocker drank a half gallon of water in the half hour. I have never seen them so thirsty, my food driven cocker didn't even want dinner till after they drank the entire gallon dispenser of water. Which was three quarters of the way full! I have heard good reviews about Rex point through the years. So this was a very shocking experience. read more

I will ALWAYS board/groom my dogs here! Most of the employees have been there for many years, so they must be doing something right! They Have awesome hours.... but you can pay with CASH OR CHECK ONLY! If i am ever unhappy with my dogs haircuts my groomer will work with me and fix it or next time will do something different. Some people think the prices are steep... but i have called around to different grooming places and they are all about the same! Even if i just get my dogs bathed they include ear cleaning, anal glands, nail trim, shaving feet and sanitary area! i don't even have to ask! They also sell a small selection of treats, toys, collars and leashes just in case i forgot to pack some while they stay at the "doggy hotel" They are VERRRYYY busy around the holidays and in the summer so i suggest you make reservations WAY in advanced for haircut or borarding! I can usually get my dogs in at anytime for just a bath. read more

The owner treated me and my dog badly. Was told if I took down my honest review he would take my dog in during a dog flu outbreak after the other ones were either booked or infected. This was during a work emergency and he didn't care I had tears in my eyes when asking to take my baby in. I'm a long time user of Rexpointe Kennel - 16 years now - and on my second set of rescues to board here. Not only does Oakland Animal Hospital highly recommend them, I only have great things to say as well. Don't expect your dog to have a couch, TV, etc., this is not the case. They are well fed and cared for and have their own dog runs. Regardless of vaccinations, Rexpointe cannot control airborne illnesses and many dogs can be exposed through other venues prior to boarding - grooming at other facilities, dog parks, etc. If you want great care, Rexpointe is the place. read more

I've been away from Michigan for the past 14 years. When I was living here last, Rexpointe was my choice for leaving my pets overnight when I traveled. They gave great care. Now that I am back in Michigan for good and, sadly, had a bit of a disaster with another kennel closer to my new home recently, I came back to Rexpointe, even though it's a bit of a drive from my new home. It is well-worth the extra distance. Their care and concern of our K9 companion, for daycare and overnight stays is simply the best. Staff is attentive, and loving and our dog loves the playtime which is actually "playtime" with staff and a limited number of dogs of similar size and temperament (unlike some day care/overnight facilities that tend to be crowded and where staff can be observed on a webcam mopping floors, rarely actually interacting with the dogs, as dogs wander around aimlessly or cower in the corner). Our 3 year old Bichon visits RexPointe for her weekly fluff and buff!!!!! (Yes, she is spoilt). She also stays there when we travel (which is often). When she started, she was very nervous and would shake when being carried into their office. Now, she happily walks into their office and jumps into Amy's lap!! We have been using Rexpointe for grooming, Doggie day care, and Boarding. Our dog loves it here. I just ask him if he wants to go to the spa and he's on his way to the car to wait for me to take him. New to the area, but not impressed. They charge you if you bring the dog 2 mins before they close or first thing int he morning, same rate. If you are the first one there in the morning to pick your dog up they charge you for the full day . They charge you to let your dog out to run and exercise. Mine was there 7 days came home with kennel cough and a bill for over $300. Maybe I am just not used tot he big city treatment. Where I come from you board your dog and they let it out of its run to exercise and call that good dog boarding. Here they apparently leave it in the cage all day unless you pay to let out and you get a free trip tot he vet with kennel cough. read more

Rexpointe is the best place in all of the Tri-county area. This is the only place I trust to take care of my pets. I have had two huskies go there and they love it. They know when we turn in where we are and they are so excited. Mike is knowledgeable and very friendly. I love my dogs groomer, Michelle. She is so tiny but she handles my rowdy huskies fabulously. I never worry when I take my dogs there. I recommend Rexpointe to everyone. The prices are reflective of the service they provide. My sister and I boarded our puppies here for the weekend. We paid for treats for them but the dogs never got them. How do I know? Because those same treats my dogs chew on for weeks and in the kennel, no sign of them when we picked up. Both puppies looked like they lost weight too which makes me wonder what was done with all the food we brought for them. read more

They even offer a pick up/drop off service for an extra charge, which could come in handy if we need to save some time. I have boarded and had my pets groomed at Rexpointe Kennels for over 30 years and have always found them to be very knowledgable, caring, and reliable. We have had 3 generations of family pets stay there and have always been more than pleased. They are reasonably priced, yet the dogs get large in and outdoor runways of their own. The kennel has over 5 acres of walking and play space which I have yet to see larger. The kennel staff and groomers have always pointed out any changes in our pets no matter how minor, which shows they care. I would recommend Rexpointe to anyone, and I know our vet feels the same way. read more
