I love this store because of its wide variety of animals it caters towards. Birds, Guinea pigs,…read moregerbils, hamsters, various reptiles and amphibians, and aquatic species as well. Most employees are well rehearsed on animal needs or at least the ones that they own themselves. I signed up for the pet club to earn points and get discounts since I have 2 fish tanks and 14 female Guinea pigs! They were super helpful and the owner was extremely friendly when giving us information. They went above and beyond when trying to find the best deal for a 60 gallon tank. Even helped load the heavy oak stand into the truck after hours. Helped with tank stocking so it would be a very peaceful community with lots of live plants which are low maintenance. Wonderful selection of Guinea pig toys, mine can't get enough of them! My ONLY complaint with this store is the sale of live animals. They have wayyyy too many Guinea pigs in the cages and too many rabbits in small wire-bottom cages. They do however have plenty of food, water, ect but no room to run & high chances of disease spreading. Rabbits and Guinea pigs run a high chance of spreading diseases which are deadly to Guinea pigs. The acrylic tanks/cages allows for too much ammonia build up which can cause URIs. For an unsuspecting new pet parent, they would shrug off as sneezing. Antibiotics are fairly cheap but has to be bought from a vet after diagnosis which many parents wouldn't do for a "childs pet". There are soooo many Guinea pigs in shelters and rescues in need of new homes and wish that they'd try rehoming before mass breeding at the store. Also, don't buy hamster, Guinea pig, or small animal cages here! None are large enough or for hamsters offer deep enough trays to fulfill the minimum requirement of 6-8in of bedding. For Guinea pigs, Midwest, C&C, or homemade is the way to go. Hamsters have more suitable options both store bought and homemade, just do some research!

Her commitment to her clients, their fur babies and her employees is beyond evident. If your pooch needs daily walks, your kitty needs some loving and her litter box scooped or your back yard needs cleaning up, Becky and her staff do it all. Going out of town and your fur babies go a little stir crazy if left alone at night, Becky and her team will stay overnight. Fish need to be fed morning and night? They are on it. Becky and her assigned staff meet with each and every client and while your pets are in their care you are sent pictures and updates. Security and safety are the number one priority and all details of the expectations are clearly spelled out before services are rendered. Becky works closely with her staff to make sure that together they are not only meeting the needs of their clients and their pets, but exceeding them. They have a great Facebook page that features staff as well as the pets they care for, helpful links and local events. The commitment to animals extends beyond the families they service but to the community as well. This company was formed by an animal lover. My dog goes nuts when Becky's car pulls up. The happy dance is in full affect until Becky comes through the door and my attention hog pup gets all the belly rubs and love she needs. The commitment to providing the best care has not wavered as the company has grown and expanded; it is a labor of love that is evident in the staff selected and the care provided. Becky continues to seek out training opportunities to diversify the services she can provide as well as ensuring she is up to date on the latest and greatest information in the pet industry. I highly recommend Paws Around Motown for all you and your fur, feathered, finned, shelled babies needs.

This company was a God-send!…read more Over the holidays, I was in need of some one to watch my Lab mix doggie for 10 days. I absolutely did NOT want to put her in a kennel. I wanted to her to be in her own environment (I'm one of those people that view their dogs as part of the family and my husband and I like to refer to her as our "fur-baby", so yes, we are over protective dog-parents). All my friends who normally would have watched her- couldn't, due to the fact it was over Christmas and New Years- Panicking, I did a quick search on Yelp and found this place. I saw they have good reviews, so I emailed the owner, Meghan Gilliatt, and she emailed me back right away (um, amazing service!) She was able to answer all my questions and concerns. We set up a free consultation with the manager, Laurie. She came over to our house and right away we knew that the people who work here, love pets! Our dog immediately loved Laurie (after all dogs know right away if some one is a doggie-lover) We set up our doggies visits while we were away. While we were gone, the employees sent me text updates with pictures every day! They also fill out a daily visit "report card" so you know everything that went on for each visit. I loved that even though we were far away, our dog was happy in her own home and getting so much love! This is a fabulous company and they have so many options and services that really cater to your needs. I will be using them again! :D
