When the dog scratches at you cause he/she is happy to see you and it draws blood, well it's time to clip their nails. It was a Saturday mid afternoon and two calls in with no calls back. Figured due to the Dream Cruise going on they were closed. Well, to my Surprise when I left the house to go get bandages and a bite to eat, the sign said open. I swung in without my dog. A attentive and busy groomer said they would be happy to help me but they were just too busy to answer calls. I left got my dog and was back in 7-8 minutes. Got the nails clipped and happy dog and happy me. Now go to a drug store for bandages. read more

I used to really like clawson paws and would only take my cat here. Sadly, I will never return to clawson paws. The owner has become a very mean woman to pets and owners alike. The last two times I took my cat, he was very aggressive. I know my cat, he is only aggressive in response to bad handling. He was fine the first two times he as groomed so what changed? Also, the last two times, myself and my partner were treated bad when picking the cat up. The last time I was charged $150 for the grooming which is the highest I've ever been charged. Obviously they didn't want me to come back. Message received. Thankfully I found a groomer in Auburn Hills who actually loves cats and we are all much happier there. read more

We had our 2 small dogs groomed today at Clawson Paws. This is the best they've ever looked when groomed. I could tell the groomers paid every attention to detail during the grooming process. This business is such a great find. They groom cats and are truly good at what they do - and with dealing with my crazy kitties.

IF YOU LOVE YOUR DOG, DO NOT TAKE THEM HERE!! Our first two visits went well, one visit her nail got trimmed too short causing it to bleed. The groomer informed us and put cornstarch on it, this happens, but they took appropriate steps. This visit was much different. Having a small dog, I was told it would take about an hour. As the second hour approached I called and asked for a time frame. I was told five minutes as they just had to do her nails. Apparently this caused them to rush. She was supposed to receive a bath, nail trim, and fanny trim. Her bottom trim looks like one side wasn't even touched and the other side has a patchy shave. Upon seeing this, I fully inspected her once I got home. We found 6 nails cut down at the quick and bloody! No sign of cornstarch and no mention from anyone when I picked her up. For the next couple of hours my dog hid in her cage nursing her feet, she didn't even want to walk. My bf called to inform them of their missteps and they offered to fix the shave. Why would I take my dog back somewhere when you cut off half it's toe? They proceeded to call back four times from multiple numbers. We returned a call back asking them to stop calling us and declined a refund as I would never want to step foot in that shop again. If they would have asked for more time for her nails, I would have happily obliged, but it seems they rushed through it with blatant disregard for my dogs safety in the process. One or two nails is understandable, but 6 and doing nothing about it?! Shame on you. These people aren't animal lovers, they will hurt your dog and not tell you. read more

I have had such a difficult time finding a Groomer in the area. My usual groomer is on maternity leave, which has left me to find another one that treats my dog well. This is at least the 5th I've tried in area, and I have to say... AWESOME! I'm so happy. The staff working were very friendly, the front lobby way was clean, and my dog looks great. BEWARE. The staff may tell you they find fleas on your dog to make extra money. They did this to me and were very rude when I questioned it, especially the young girl at the front desk. They insist I pay an extra $25. I knew my dog did not have fleas, so to be certain, I took my dog immediately to the vet and was told there were no signs of flea bites etc. Not sure why they like to scam their customers, but it happened to me at Clawson Paws Pet Grooming. The ladies were so gentle and attentive to their needs and making sure that they were comfortable in the process too. Please don't ever take your cat here. I took mine here to have his nails trimmed and to have two mats removed near his front legs. They shaved his entire belly. Didn't remove the mats. Didn't trim the nails and still charged me $60. Horrible place. read more

I never write reviews but this place deserves a shout out. I have been to many groomers and this place is by far one of the most professional. The owner is a true dog lover and cares for your dog like it's her own. I took my doodle for a bath and brush this morning at 9 am and she was ready to be picked by 11. Most grooming places take all day to groom your dog and make them wait in cages but not this place. They did an amazing job with my doodle she looked so beautiful when I picked her up. Tembo, my chow chow, is our baby and has been long overdue for a professional grooming. I was nervous to entrust her to someone who could properly groom and hand scissor her. I needed to find someone that my girl would trust, knowing her chow chow temperament. Michelle and Dawn swept all our fears away. We took Tembo in for an initial visit and after meeting Tembo, they reassured me that they would be able to pamper her and take care of her every need. Tembo loved Dawn right away and this was unusual for her! She is usually weary of strangers and barks at them, especially initially. However, Dawn was able to pet her and she was giving her kisses right off the bat. I dropped off Tembo first thing in the morning. They took her right in. I called to check in on her mid-morning and they told me she was doing great. 3.5 ours later, I received a phone call that she was finished, and let me tell you: She looked, felt and smelt amazing! I could not have been more pleased with the results. I am so thankful to Dawn and Michelle. They will become Tembo's regular groomers. I love this place and refuse to take my fur baby anywhere else. The owner Michelle met my fur baby Bella the very first day I rescued her. She was 18 weeks old, scared and her fur was in bad shape. Bella took to Michelle immediately and she came out of the shop feeling and looking like a new puppy. It was that day I started calling Michelle "Auntie Michelle". No matter the short notice I give, Michelle always makes time for my fur baby Bella. I've been coming to Michelle for well over 5 years and I can't explain how amazing she's been, not only as a groomer but as a friend! When I enter Clawson Paws it's like visiting family. I hate to admit it but Michelle has also been a therapist to me in so many ways. She's incredible and her work speaks for itself. Michelle doesn't just groom my baby, she glamorizes her for me. I took my cat here on Feb 4 2021. She came back to me with all of her whiskers cut short and when the owner Michelle told me about this when I came to pick her up, she said this was fine. However, it has been over 2 months now and my cat is still acting oddly because her whiskers haven't grown back yet. She acts a lot more timidly and is scared very easily now. I have been to several other cat groomers and they have not even nicked 1 whisker, let alone cut all of them down to about 1-1.5 inches. I did not take my cat here to be beautified, just took her in to remove her excessively long fur. This was communicated clearly before the visit. I'm bothered that I wasn't told about the whiskers before I arrived, as I was called several times during the appointment for inquiries about what kind of cut on the tail and what style cut in general I would like done. Why wasn't this mentioned during one of those calls? My research into the topic of cutting whiskers has lead me to think, how could this have happened to my cat by a professional groomer? It seems to be common knowledge that whiskers should not be cut, ever. I'm baffled and I feel terrible for my cat. I have no idea when/if she will recover. When I came to pick him up they put a little scarf around his neck and a few treats to go home with! They were so nice and did a great job on him! A few months ago I took my 16 year old cat to be groomed. He is a triple coated cat who had many mats. We have been able to brush his hair in the past, but due to his hypertyroid condition, the texture of the fur changed so much, it was impossible to groom. Michelle felt that due to his condition and age, he would need a vet to perform the grooming. She gave us the names of several local veterinarians. We had him groomed at a Vet's office with anesthesia. He looks beautiful! Michelle was very much in integrity. She could have attempted to groom him herself, but had his interests in mind. My cat was just scared. You would think that they would have taken precautions. One because my cat has never been there before and two because cats normally don't like water. I received my scared cat back with bloody paws. I did leave a tip because I felt bad. Though for pet owner should have to worry about the safety of her baby while at the groomers. My fur-baby, Sydney, is a long-haired cat who requires grooming every spring to remove her undercoat. It is actually difficult to find a groomer in the area who will work with cats. I have used Clawson Paws for 3 years and highly recommend them. They talk to Sydney calmly and with love - I always leave feeling she is in good hands and will be treated with the same care I do. They understand the stress loud noises and dogs place on her and wait until things are more quiet before they begin. I took my cat here for a lion cut. When I came to pick her up, her cut was done perfectly and she smelled wonderful (not an easy feat with my little stinker). The staff gushed over how sweet my cat was and then the woman talking to me got a very serious look. She told me I should consider going to the vet because there may be a tumor on my cats stomach. My cat is a little old lady and we've known about her tumor for a few years now, but not one groomer has ever cared enough to point it out to me. When I told her it was benign she looked so relieved and yelled it back to the other groomers. I'm glad they gave my cat a great haircut, but the genuine love and care they had for my fur baby (at our first visit nonetheless) is what will keep me coming back to Clawson Paws. I've never felt inclined to leave a yelp review before, but this place is awesome. I spent forever trying to find a place that would groom my Persian cat, and I'm so happy I stumbled upon this gem. The owner Michelle is super friendly and you could tell she genuinely loves the animals. I expected my cat to come home traumatized like he does after leaving the vet, and instead he was happy and playful. I truly think he liked the groomer (who would've thought). Love, Love, Love this place. I have never taken a cat in to get groomed and was a little worried. But after meeting Michelle and her crew I had very little concerns. Jaxx just loved it, he got a lion cut and the whole shebang. When I got him home he wasn't stressed in fact he walked around the house like he WAS the cats meow.
