I love that Premier Pet Supply is a family business who is active in our metro Detroit community and regularly holds cat and dog adoption events with local rescues in their store. The store is very clean and organized with a wide variety of top quality natural supplements, pet food, treats, toys, and anything else a pet owner would ever need. They carry natural and organic brands as well as Michigan Made products. What you won't find in their store are food and supplements made with junk, chemicals and fillers that are commonly found in big box pet stores. It's comforting knowing that whatever i choose to purchase will be safe and healthy for my dogs rather than something that could be possibly harmful. I trust the quality of their products. What mostly sets Premier Per Supply apart from all other big box pet stores is their extraordinary customer service. The employees are welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable about all of their products as well as the health and wellness of animals. It's evident that they are not just employees but pet owners themselves that are passionate about educating customers on pet topics. They truly want to share their expertise and help you and your furbabies rather than just making a sale. Their DIY dog wash station is wonderful. You get your own private room that is supplied with top quality shampoos ear cleaning solution, and blow dryer to use for only $14.99. It's very convenient especially if you have a larger breed dog. They even offer to do the clean up for you. Over the years Pet Premier has expanded to 13 locations in the area. I highly recommend visiting one of them. You'll see why they were voted "Best pet store in all of Metro Detroit" in several publications. You won't ever want to go back to a big box pet store again.

The only pet supplies store that has consistently provided me with everything I need, positive experiences in the quality of their options and level of service, and great deals is Premier Pet Supply. Therefore, they get ALL my business! I love that everyone here is so friendly, genuinely enjoy working here, and are so knowledgeable! I love that PPS provides both "common" and more "unique" food, treat, and toy options so you get a little bit of everything. I love that they have a partnership with local organizations so you know they are passionate about being engrained within the local community. I also love that they provide pet bathing rooms at great prices for the amount of time you get in there, along with what they offer in their bathing services. I love that they have a rewards system for you to wrack up points to certain levels where you get rewarded! This company has truly thought through everything and it shows in all the products and services they offer. I love Premier Pet Supply and will always support them in all their endeavors and spoil my dogs with goodies from here always!

I know better than to let my dog touch a cat or another animal in the store--but the manager was so adamant--"no we've had so many bad experiences and these cats have had a bad history..." My dog and I have never had a response like that about not being able to just look at the cats or other dogs that are being shown for adoption; and we've visited dozens of pet stores. 2 stars to the Manager. 5 stars to the other employees for being welcoming to my dog. One time i was in there and i wanted a product and they were out of the size i needed so i went to the register and asked if i could get something ordered they they place their orders........ they woman said yes... so i asked how long before they place the next one... she responded with " we only order from this company once a year and I'm not sure when we will be again!!!" and I'm just thinking to myself...Well I'm not going to wait a year for something! That's not very helpful! This same visit i was checking out and they were training a new girl... she was going really slow and trying to do everything right (i didn't mind) and they other employees were making rude comments to each other under their breath and making fun of her! After years of making quick stops at CVS Pharmacy or one of the mega pet stores with the cute TV…read moreads, I didn't realize I was overpaying on, well, basically everything for my pet. It's not so surprising with CVS, but I was really surprised that places like Petsmart overcharge as well. When I first went to Val's, it was like a breath of fresh air. (LIterally, figuratively.) I needed cat litter, and Val's had a great selection of that and just about everything else I could ever think of wanting. For a big bag I ended up paying about $15, where for a bag HALF the size of the one I got at Val's I was paying about the same at other places. That's a REALLY big difference. What will make me come back to Val's is the sales. They plaster the inside and outside of their business with posters of their sales, sales on things that no one else does. Science Diet for a buck a can? Big bags of kitten chow for $12? I"m so there! If you have a cat or dog and you're sick of paying stupid prices for the simple things they need, then check out Val's. I'll never go to another store again!

He was dropped off at PetSmart for a bath, full haircut, and flea & tick treatment. Instead, he ended up needing a vet visit, three bottles of medication, and topical medication. We let them know ahead of time that his skin was irritating him, and the groomer even saw him irritated and trying to get to it while we were in the lobby. Yet during his appointment, he was left unattended and somehow managed to do the damage shown below. We were told, "We left him alone for 5 minutes." Respectfully, we have a hard time believing this happened in only 5 minutes. The bottom line is that he was left unattended long enough for this to happen, and he absolutely did NOT have this condition when we dropped him off. We weren't notified until after PetSmart had taken him to the vet. When we spoke with the vet later that day, we were told PetSmart provided no explanation as to why our dog was brought in in the condition he was. I've heard the horror stories about PetSmart grooming, but I never thought I'd experience one myself. At this point, I genuinely feel like I would've been better off doing everything myself. The picture below shows what he apparently did to himself in "5 minutes." Completely unacceptable.

When I went to pay, the cashier informed me the price was $70 + a tip. With my previous male Cavalier, the highest price ever paid in 16 years was $48 + tip. He was twice my female's height/weight with a much heavier coat. I thought $70+ tip was excessive for a 12 lb. Cavalier. I thought the groomer did an okay job but never trimmed any body fur and the butt was a bit scruffy and looked a bit unfinished. Chest feathering was not trimmed at all. Being retired on a fixed income, I think I will look around more before I schedule my two year old Cavalier for her next grooming appointment.
