I could give 0/5 stars--or honestly, -10/10, I would…read more How did my dog come back to me in a condition that was completely unacceptable? He was dropped off at PetSmart for a bath, full haircut, and flea & tick treatment. Instead, he ended up needing a vet visit, three bottles of medication, and topical medication. We let them know ahead of time that his skin was irritating him, and the groomer even saw him irritated and trying to get to it while we were in the lobby. Yet during his appointment, he was left unattended and somehow managed to do the damage shown below. We were told, "We left him alone for 5 minutes." Respectfully, we have a hard time believing this happened in only 5 minutes. The bottom line is that he was left unattended long enough for this to happen, and he absolutely did NOT have this condition when we dropped him off. We weren't notified until after PetSmart had taken him to the vet. When we spoke with the vet later that day, we were told PetSmart provided no explanation as to why our dog was brought in in the condition he was. I've heard the horror stories about PetSmart grooming, but I never thought I'd experience one myself. At this point, I genuinely feel like I would've been better off doing everything myself. The picture below shows what he apparently did to himself in "5 minutes." Completely unacceptable.

I visited The Family Puppy today while in town for work…read more I was excited to see this place after entering the mall as i LOVE dogs. When i walked in I noticed there were designated places to interact with the dogs and puppies and there were a significant number of dogs in cages. There were at least 4 employees working, answering questions and taking out and returning puppies to their cages. There were maybe 5 families and or groups of people inside the store. I connected with a specific dog and wanted to ask questions about it. I waited at his cage for about 5 or six minutes. During the time I was standing directly in front of the cage, I made eye contact with 2 employees, and waited for someone to acknowledge me. Not once was I greeted or asked if I needed help. Meanwhile, I watched as every other family and individual who walked through the door was greeted IMMEDIATELY and offered assistance. I am a self-assured woman and I know my value, so their lack of greeting doesn't change how I feel about myself. However, I am sharing this so others are aware of the environment here. It is a shame that in a store full of families and pets, the "warm welcome" seems to be reserved for a specific demographic. The reality of my experience: Every single person was seen, except for me.

Buyers beware!! I purchased a puppy from puppy home match 10 days ago. We were assured that the…read morepuppy was healthy and ready to be adopted. Fast forward one week. The puppy can not eat on its own, is most likely deaf, and has been diagnosed with both giardia and hypoglycemia by our veterinarian. We have had one trip to the vet and one trip to the ER in 3 days with a total cost of $2000 to be informed that the puppy was weaned far too early and was too sickly and weak to have been adopted. The puppy needs to be hand fed every two hours and goes limp from hypoglycemia on a daily basis. When informing Martin, the owner, of our puppy's extreme and congenital health issues, his sick response was, "this happens to these dogs all the time...in fact, I took the puppy to the ER just two days before you purchased her to deal with her hypoglycemic issues." I mean, wtf?!!! Knowingly sold a dog that was ill? Knowingly sold a dog that was not weaned yet?? Lied to us and told us the dog was healthy and ready to go home? Failed to mention an ER visits or hypoglycemic conditions? Martin has refused to reimburse us for any medical bills, and is still refusing to provide us with veterinary records regarding the puppy's first shots, which we highly suspect were not done.  Now we are stuck paying thousands of dollars in vet bills on top of the $3200 we paid for this sick and most likely dying & deaf dog. Extremely sad situation of a neglected puppy that was sold by immoral and inexperienced sellers. In summary, stay the hell away from this immoral and fraudulent seller!!!!

I wrote a review about a year ago and gave it one star. A petco representative then reached out to…read moreme and seamed to have empathy for the situation and said they will work on it. So I went today to see what was going on. Not only did they not improve they almost downgraded their care for the animals. I walked straight to the birds because I have a bird at home (NOT FROM PETCO) so I feel very passionate about them! I walk over and see that the bird looks like it has been neglected for 3 months! The nails were so long they where curling in, the bird had clipped wing which I think is ridiculous especially if you are not gonna give the bird attention why clip its wings. Then I look at the enclosure itself and see one old toy then I see the water that looks like it was last changed two weeks ago. And the food had literal dust on it birds are dusty but come on I don't want dandruff on my food. Whilst I'm looking at all this terrible gross food water and care in general the employees are all sitting around the cash register talking while animals are basically being abused in their care. Overall terrible experience there is absolutely no reason for this care and I think there is no reason we should be shopping at petco period there are so many local places that actually care for the animals DONT COME HERE PLEASE.

I love that Premier Pet Supply is a family business who is active in our metro Detroit community and regularly holds cat and dog adoption events with local rescues in their store. The store is very clean and organized with a wide variety of top quality natural supplements, pet food, treats, toys, and anything else a pet owner would ever need. They carry natural and organic brands as well as Michigan Made products. What you won't find in their store are food and supplements made with junk, chemicals and fillers that are commonly found in big box pet stores. It's comforting knowing that whatever i choose to purchase will be safe and healthy for my dogs rather than something that could be possibly harmful. I trust the quality of their products. What mostly sets Premier Per Supply apart from all other big box pet stores is their extraordinary customer service. The employees are welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable about all of their products as well as the health and wellness of animals. It's evident that they are not just employees but pet owners themselves that are passionate about educating customers on pet topics. They truly want to share their expertise and help you and your furbabies rather than just making a sale. Their DIY dog wash station is wonderful. You get your own private room that is supplied with top quality shampoos ear cleaning solution, and blow dryer to use for only $14.99. It's very convenient especially if you have a larger breed dog. They even offer to do the clean up for you. Over the years Pet Premier has expanded to 13 locations in the area. I highly recommend visiting one of them. You'll see why they were voted "Best pet store in all of Metro Detroit" in several publications. You won't ever want to go back to a big box pet store again.
