So loving, but when we asked if the dogs get walked...nope. Dogs are not let out of their cages unless someone requests to see them or their cage is getting cleaned. The employee seemed very knowledgeable and friendly, but then referred to the dogs as "product" when we asked about how long the dogs stay. She told us that they "get new product once a week, depending on if they are from Indiana or Michigan." I just don't know what to think. Many people walked out buying dogs in the hour we were there, which is awesome! But...not sure. When we were done visiting with one puppy, no employees were out to attend to us. We could have easily walked out with the dog. Puppy mill? I don't know. One dog didn't even want us touching her, she hid in the corner of the stall and growled when we tried to play with her. So sad :/

When i walked in I noticed there were designated places to interact with the dogs and puppies and there were a significant number of dogs in cages. There were at least 4 employees working, answering questions and taking out and returning puppies to their cages. There were maybe 5 families and or groups of people inside the store. I connected with a specific dog and wanted to ask questions about it. I waited at his cage for about 5 or six minutes. ​During the time I was standing directly in front of the cage, I made eye contact with 2 employees, and waited for someone to acknowledge me. Not once was I greeted or asked if I needed help. Meanwhile, I watched as every other family and individual who walked through the door was greeted IMMEDIATELY and offered assistance. ​I am a self-assured woman and I know my value, so their lack of greeting doesn't change how I feel about myself. However, I am sharing this so others are aware of the environment here. It is a shame that in a store full of families and pets, the "warm welcome" seems to be reserved for a specific demographic. ​The reality of my experience: Every single person was seen, except for me.

The puppy can not eat on its own, is most likely deaf, and has been diagnosed with both giardia and hypoglycemia by our veterinarian. We have had one trip to the vet and one trip to the ER in 3 days with a total cost of $2000 to be informed that the puppy was weaned far too early and was too sickly and weak to have been adopted. The puppy needs to be hand fed every two hours and goes limp from hypoglycemia on a daily basis. When informing Martin, the owner, of our puppy's extreme and congenital health issues, his sick response was, "this happens to these dogs all the time...in fact, I took the puppy to the ER just two days before you purchased her to deal with her hypoglycemic issues." I mean, wtf?!!! Knowingly sold a dog that was ill? Knowingly sold a dog that was not weaned yet?? Lied to us and told us the dog was healthy and ready to go home? Failed to mention an ER visits or hypoglycemic conditions? Martin has refused to reimburse us for any medical bills, and is still refusing to provide us with veterinary records regarding the puppy's first shots, which we highly suspect were not done.  Now we are stuck paying thousands of dollars in vet bills on top of the $3200 we paid for this sick and most likely dying & deaf dog. Extremely sad situation of a neglected puppy that was sold by immoral and inexperienced sellers. In summary, stay the hell away from this immoral and fraudulent seller!!!!

So I went today to see what was going on. Not only did they not improve they almost downgraded their care for the animals. I walked straight to the birds because I have a bird at home (NOT FROM PETCO) so I feel very passionate about them! I walk over and see that the bird looks like it has been neglected for 3 months! The nails were so long they where curling in, the bird had clipped wing which I think is ridiculous especially if you are not gonna give the bird attention why clip its wings. Then I look at the enclosure itself and see one old toy then I see the water that looks like it was last changed two weeks ago. And the food had literal dust on it birds are dusty but come on I don't want dandruff on my food. Whilst I'm looking at all this terrible gross food water and care in general the employees are all sitting around the cash register talking while animals are basically being abused in their care.
