I just moved to Lombard a week ago and was anxious about finding a new nail salon that was meticulous about every detail and make my nails look perfect. After unpacking all of my boxes, my hands were in rough condition. Based on reviews on yelp, I stopped into Magic Nails with my fingers crossed-I always take reviews with a grain of salt. They did such a great job today! I was out in the suburbs and called ahead to make an appt. they are super busy on the weekends so I would recommend you do that (I would note they were graciously accommodating anyone who came without appts). I was getting a fill with gel and I wanted to change up the shape- my technician did a great job checking in with me throughout the manicure to check I liked the shape, color, etc. I will definitely be back to get another fill! read more

Literally my go-to place to get my nails done! I've even tried other places that were honestly a little cheaper but I am NEVER as satisfied as when I go to this Magic Nails location. They're the ones that introduced me to the dip process a few years ago and I refuse to get anything else because they last over 3 weeks. I have also not seen my real nails in 5+ years because they've always been sooo bad...I currently have no fake tips on and my nails are so long and healthy thanks to these awesome people. One last thing...I get hundreds of compliments on my nails! I work at a hotel and I just get so many people who love my nails. I 1000000% recommend this place and have not had a negative experience with any of the employees. They are always busy since they're so great so my only suggestion is to make an appointment. read more

I went to this salon for my two daughters' and me. The waiting area is super small and I had to constantly move out of the way for people to check-in or pay for their services, making me feel like I was part of a nail factory, churning people in and out. This place was unbelievably expensive for the quality. Both my daughters got dipped nails and they were $48 apiece. I wanted them to do french tips on top of my new acrylic nails and they charged $10 on top of the $58 for a full set!! (My bad for not asking for the prices when I booked the appointment.) They put no chip on my nails without asking me first. They gave one of my daughters the deluxe pedicure without checking with me first. The total bill for 3 pedicures, 2 dips, and a full set was a whopping $305. My daughter cried in the car because her nails were so thick it looked unnatural. To be fair, I didn't discuss the quality with the salon, because she was so uncomfortable there she didn't want to go back. I would say skip this place and go to one of the other great salons in the area. read more

Overpriced and poor service. I came in for a no-chip manicure and a regular pedicure. The $70 bill was a little on the steep end however I was pretty satisfied with my nails so I didn't mind the price. That is until my fingernail chipped in less than 24 hours after leaving the salon. Ladies and gentleman a record has been broken. I have been getting no-chip manicures for 4 years now from high end and even some low end salons and this has been the fasted chip on a no-chip manicure. I returned to the salon the following evening and I was told to wait 20 minutes just to have one nail fixed. And I did. If I pay a 1st class price then I expect 1st class service and quality. I will not be returning; not even the convenient location can convince me of this. read more

So, i ask if i can have on my short nails something similar to the 1st pic- the girl just said:"of course, this is easy" just red and black... well, let me tell you- in the end, the line on each nail was different size, different curve, different distance from cuticles. I was so disappointed, the manager approached and try to fix it on the spot- with the results on 2 nd pic... the amount of gel on my nails was insane.. so thick and ugly, every touch feel like waives - total of $50 +10 tip. The next day i called to stop by and just make it all red- no more design. No problem - $20 extra. First- the lady that took the color off was so fast and ruth! My poor nails and skin around went all red! And painful. They put the color on, dry.. and have a good day!!! No cream, no towel - nothing! I asked the girl if i can at least have a little cream, my skin was irritated and in pain, she got a bottle of bath and body works lotion and just poured it in my hands- enough for my entire body! I have to say- i never been so disrespected and fell that i spend so much money for such a disastrous service! My daughter asked me if I had a boo boo on my heel. No, sweet girl, that's just the result of a lack of pedicure in the last few months. And with a trip to Mexico days away, I was relieved to read the great reviews of Magic Nails, just a few doors down from my morning meeting location! Inside, Magic nails is pristine and serene. The polish selection is impressive (everything from Essie to OPI to Color Cube, gel finish and more), the pedicure chairs lush and comfortable, and, most importantly, everything was incredibly clean. Like eat off the floor clean. Jackpot! My spa (regular) pedicure ran me $30 pre-tip and ran about 45 minutes long. Long enough for a perfect polish on both my feet and toes, lower leg massage and a variety of lotions/hot towels, etc. The tech was friendly and polite, and extremely precise when it came to my tiny toenails. They do accept credit cards for services, but tips are cash only (and I didn't find an ATM anywhere nearby). Next time I'm in the Oak Brook area, I would absolutely come back to Magic Nails for another fantastic pedicure! read more

I went to this place because it was near a hotel I was staying in for business. The place was clean, and the staff were friendly. From the start, I noticed that their prices were VERY expensive compared to others in the area. However, I was talked into a manicure where I paid an extra $5 for polish that was supposed to last one week. Normal manicures chip within a couple of days so I paid the extra 5 in order to have a nice manicure that lasted 7. This nailpolish chipped within 3 days. I was not impressed at all. There isn't much special about this place. It is overpriced and a normal manicure that you would get anywhere else. I probably would not go back. read more

The atmosphere is nice, but since it's oakbrook, you pay more just for the neighborhood. What costs $25 elsewhere costs $30, $43 for a VERY slight upgrade with sugar scrubs. My pedicurist was too gentle, somewhat lazy with his filing and scrubbing and was quiet and yawning. Really didn't seem to want to be there. Guess I can't blame him. After finally breaking up with Nails by Nicole (see previous review if you're interested in salons in Naperville, then avoid it), I was in pretty desperate shape for a new salon. Yelp to the rescue! The other rave reviews are accurate. First off, this place is CLEAN. Second, they have an amazing array of colors - regular polish, Vinylux, and no chip. Third... it's a pretty stylish place, and everything is new. It was actually their one-year opening anniversary today. I got a standard spa pedicure from V, and it was the best pedicure I've had since moving to Illinois. Plus, she was super sweet, and gives an amazing foot massage. Her attention to detail on my toes was CRAZY - they look SO good. She also knew the name of every color by sight and helped me pick a color that was appropriate for Spring and matched my skin tone - one I never would have picked for myself but absolutely LOVE on. I don't know who did my no-chip manicure because it was actually three people - one to remove my previous no-chip polish, one to get my hands "started," and one that did all the cuticle work and then polish. She was also a perfectionist, and omg... my nails look AMAZING. I actually hate letting other people file my nails - I feel like they just never get it right - but they did. And FAST, too, without me feeling rushed. I also got a great arm and hand massage, and a few mins of a neck and shoulder massage as part of the package. Epic. This isn't really close to home, but I work downtown so it's right in the middle. Either way, I will make the drive. This place ROCKS. UPDATE 6/22/14: I've now been four times, and every nail tech I've had is awesome. But today, I had Q for my mani, and it was PERFECTION. The other reviews were right... he's amazing. I was hesitant because I had it a few times at other places and it didn't last. It started to come off after 1 week and looked dull. Because of that experience, I didn't want to do it, but the manicurist talked me into it because I was on my way to catch a plane for meetings and it would last longer. I'm so happy that I did. I am a guitar player. 5 years ago I damaged my pointer nail playing. No need to review the details of that. But since then, it has never grown back and has been painful ever since. I decided to get an acrylic nail put on. These people did a great job. I have been back for one maintenance session and it looks like the nail underneath is coming back. We will see. So since this was my first time, and it's around the holidays, I decided to get a no-chip manicure. When we arrived, all of the technicians were busy, so we had to wait around 15 min or so. No big deal, since they work pretty fast. My technician was so meticulous with my manicure, which I was super thankful for (since I'm a little OCD lol). This place is a hidden gem! I decided to plan a Saturday afternoon date with a girlfriend here and it was perfect! We walked in and say right down, my technician was fast and precise. He even gave me a back massage and a nice hand massage! I got a no chip that lasted well over 2 weeks and I was very pleased with that alone! There was no rushing through the service it was very relaxing and nice and they even gave us a little bottle of water. I highly recommend this place!
