I was not a fan of this nail shop. I decided to visit based on the reviews and the close proximity to where I was staying. When I arrived it was pretty crowded so I figured they must be quality! Meh.. not so much. First my technician could not get my nail shape correct. Even after I showed her several pictures of how I had my nails done previously (I was only in town visiting my folks so my normal nail shop was not an option). Unfortunately she filed them incredibly short and since they were acrylics there was no easy fix unless I wanted to get a new set. Then when it came to paying she attempted to sneak in a charge that wasn't previously discussed or listed. Something about the polish I chose? Despite the poor experience I left and figured you win some you lose some. BUT THEN my nails started to chip a few days later. I've never had acrylic nails with a gel polish overlay chip. And certainly not within a week! I was very very disappointed and felt like I wasted my money. Maybe it was the technician, the day, the service, the polish... idk. But I recommend searching elsewhere for nail services. The only reason for the 2 stars is that they were following COVID protocols.

Recently moved to the area and was looking for a new spa home. I called an hr before to ask if they took walk-ins. The representative on the phone stated they do not and inquire what I was looking to get. I stated a no chip manicure and pedicure. The representative then informed me that they could take me at 4pm. I arrived and the place was packed. I was greeted and informed them of my appointment. The representative asked me to remind them of what I was getting again and then asked me to pick a color. They do not have a huge color selection but I was able to find something to put me in the New Year mood. I was seated at 4:20 and sat with my feet in the water for 15 mins before someone came over to assist me with an overlay over two of my toes. After that was complete, my feet sat in the water for another 15 mins unattend. In the end, the outcome of my service was great. However, the time I spent idle was not worth it for me.

After my third trip to this salon because of my nails separating from the dip powder and one shattering... it hasn't even lasted a week.

I got my nails done on a Thursday, by Saturday night I could see my nails were separating from the tips. They were closed for a holiday Sunday and Monday, so I went in Tuesday and after the offered to just file away the area that is separating, or glue it down I suggested a whole new set as 6 nails had separated, and one nail had shattered. Got a new set. I had to go back 2 days later because they were separating AGAIN. This time I asked for my money back, which the manager refused. She glued my tips down and tried to tell me not to pick at my nails. That's not what I've been doing, and my nails have never had this issue at my regular nail salon. If they were done well, They shouldn't be able to be separated. Before the weekend was over my nails were separating and whatever glue she used was long gone. Here I am 6 days after my new set with one nail that had separated away, real nail broke off a few days ago, now the dip has broken... and as you can see my thumb has a small chip on the side. My middle finger does as well. Maybe some of the products went bad, or the nail tech is newer, but the manager's attempt to blame me, then her refusal to return my money just doesn't sit right with me.

Got my nails done Saturday. First thing worth mentioning- they don't honor appointments. I scheduled my appointment the day before and they still had me wait a half an hour before anyone even checked on me. Not the first time.... Magic Nails is always packed and can't handle the volume of customers. I was passed off between THREE separate nail techs to do a simple one-color, no-chip manicure. And look- it's Monday evening, just two days later, and the polish is peeling. It didn't even look good intact. There are indents and lumps all over them, and my nails were filed unevenly because the tech who did the filing was ANSWERING PHONES while working with me!!! I spent WAY too much money on this.

I have been coming to this location for 4 years! Maybe even more. I have NEVER had a bad experience. I appreciate how friendly the staff is and the fact that I can make my appointment within days notice. I go Vy or Nancy for my full sets! They last so long and always so precise. I never leave without getting compliments. I highly recommend!

I've given this place a few tries over the last year, but after my experience earlier this week I don't think I'll ever be back. I made an appointment after work mid-week to soak my gel nails off, but ended up waiting 15-25 mins past my appointment time before I was helped. I had 3 different techs work on me at one point or another (I get it's busy, but you really can't dedicate a whole 10 minutes to me?) but the last one absolutely destroyed my nails. After the gel polish had soaked off, instead of using a bamboo stick or other tool to gently scrape the polish off, he used an emery board (not a buffing block) to file the loose polish off of my fingernails, filing directly onto my nail bed and leaving harsh, visible scratches on the surface of my nail. After basically shredding my nails, I washed my hands and sat back down at the table assuming he was going to buff out the scratches. My nail tech then returned to tell me we were done and that I needed to pay, and I asked if that was really all; my nails were still incredibly tough and there were remnant bits of polish on the sides that I was scraping off myself. He sat back down, offered to re-soak my nails with acetone (which would've just irritated my nails, not reduced the unevenness), and then told me the texture was just my natural nail. After offering to re-soak again, I asked if he could buff my nails and got a half-hearted shrug in response. I ended up getting up and paying, but wish I had pushed him more to fix my nails. I paid to remove my gel polish because I didn't want to damage my nails, but ended up in worse shape than if I did it at home.

Found this nail salon on Yelp and called for an appointment before stopping in on a Friday afternoon. The reviews were accurate and this place is a great nail salon. They seemed to be taking a lot of care in sanitizing things (seats, foot bowls, etc) after each person. I would definitely stop again if I'm ever in the area again. read more

They were busy but luckily I made an appointment. Some of the staff are not very friendly. The lady who did my pedicure was great. The guy who did my hands wasn't careful when cleaning my cuticles so it hurt at times. I even said "ow" at one point. I picked a silver nail polish that when applied, you could see my nail. I asked if we could do anything about that and all he said was "you picked this color". Would've been nice if he recommended a different color or suggested something, but it was kind of clear he didn't have time for me. I won't be back. read more

Went searching for a new nail salon to accommodate 5 people on a Thursday. After reading reviews, I decided to take a shot. I needed the nails to be perfect as I was getting married and my bridal party was going to be in a lot of photos. I called and they accommodated without a hitch. Upon arrival they take temperatures and necessary precautions to ensure safety. All of the ladies doing nails were so nice and carried such good conversation. The pedicure was on point! My legs were so soft after and they even used real oranges with the scrub. I would definitely come back. The only down side is that one of the nail techs was so rough on my moms feet, she cut her in multiple spots and told her it was because she had a blister. My mother was sitting across from me otherwise I would have requested another nail tech for her. However the other 4 techs were so great and everyone else agreed they'd be back but avoid the rough one! read more

Ask for Kieu, he is a nail perfectionist & displays a love for nail art, rather than treating me as just another client. I will be back in 3 weeks :) read more

Best place in town. I love Nancy. I always love to see Tami (manager). Everyone is so sweet. I'm a customer of about 2-3 years and never had something happen until today. I feel like sharing because they handled it like a champ.. well I guess so did I, Lol, but still. ok. So...I tried something new..their "New no-chip No-UV lights required colored powder". The top coat was acting funny/weird and bubbling up at the end when I put my hand over the fan...and no one had any idea why, it was bizarre, at first they thought it was me touching my "not yet dry nails" which I couldn't blame them for wondering that hahaha I mean hello! I woulda wondered the same thing if I was them! LOL! but then when 2 different people tried to fix the issue without success... it became a mystery that Nail Dr. Tami (manager) stepped in and tried to fix AND again the same thing happened. Everyone's faces were dumbfounded at this point. So then..Together - we (Tami and I) discovered the source of the problem was the dang little clear topcoat bottle brush. Tami said screw it - so she tried the gel clear top coat (that's usually put on gel nails only) and I put my hands under UV lights 5x..and then I washed my hands and nope... still weird... I'm going on 2 hours here at this point..so Tami and I were laughing because it works on everyone else's nails... I mean like 3 people got it while I was in there and left with super shiny nails! Deep breaths. Ok, so THEN she sanded off the top layer of all the people who tried to fix it and failed and then it dawned on us...if shiny doesn't work well then let's try a matte top coat??? I mean what the heck right? why not? Lol!! and 20 seconds under the fan and BOOM it worked! my nails were fancy and pretty! Not what I expected to walk out of there with but I like it just the same! :) No clue what happened. Bizarre nail day for me I guess...but not only am I truly happy, I could tell that Tami and Nancy were genuinely happy that I was happy. Lol. Oh and they give you a free little water bottle every time you go in there! or tea.. but I like the little waters. ;) read more

Been a loyal costumer to Magic Nails for years. Every nail technician does a fantastic job and everyone is always very friendly. They have hundreds of colors to choose from. I like to experiment with my nails and do fun designs and they always help my vision come to life. Whenever I go, I get dip powder nails which last me OVER a month. This entire experience was positive start to finish. I drove away excited with how wonderful this whole thing was. I travel for work so I rarely return to the same nail salon because I'm never in the same city. So often times my experience is a toss up at best. Counting my lucky stars for today. I came in with an ombré design and they tried out the design on multiple fake nails before we found the perfect look for me. So professional and friendly. The inside was spotless. And my nails look PHENOMENAL. Luckily I'll still be in the area in 3 weeks and I've already booked my follow up. I can't wait to go back. Vy and Lynn are phenomenal!! Update: I didn't think it was possible but Vy did an even better job this time. I'm so obsessed with my nails. Even after I showed her 10 different Pinterest photos I just asked her to make something for me because I couldn't decks and she went above and beyond. I LOVE my nails. So much sass and class. AMAZING. I have searched near & far for a new nail salon & Magic Nails is the absolute BEST place ever. Coming from a picky, sometimes OCD customer (if I'm being honest) they met all my needs and exceeded my expectations. I have tried places in the burbs and downtown Chicago and this is definitely my new go-to salon. The interior is clean & up to date. Tons of name brand no-chip colors, and excellent customer service. Tony did my no-chip mani & was patient, detail oriented and professional. A no-chip is $40, a bit more pricey but I promise it's worth every penny. He soaked my hands in hot towels twice, gave me a great hand & back massage with their homemade lotion. I am obsessed! Wow. All other salons need to take notes because this place is the ultimate nail salon experience. read more

I love coming here to get my nails done by Nancy. Never book an appointment on Wednesday when Tammy is there. I booked my appointment for 5:30 and she gave it away to someone else while I was getting my feet done. I usually have them both done at the same time but she took it upon herself to give my appointment away and didn't say anything to me about it. I now have to book another appointment with Nancy on a different day. A total waste of my time. I only get my feet done if I am getting my nails done. She didn't even apologize. I will NEVER let her book another appointment for me. read more

I believe that getting your nails done is a way of just taking care of yourself. You always feel good after a nice manicure. The salon is very clean and staff is very attentive + friendly. There a lot of service available. From your basic manicure to waxing. Oh and they also do micro blading here! I am very impressed with the result too! Ask for B! They definitely take care of you very well here...not like other salon that just get you in and out. For the price, it's worth it. So many colors to select from or if you want something neutral I would recommend getting ombré pink & white. It's has a super clean look to it and they do such a good job here! Vy did my nails and it turn out to be perfect. The location is awesome. After getting my nails done, I was literally 5 minutes away from the mall. Definitely a place to come and get yourself pamper. Like other reviews, bring cash for tips! read more

Never coming to this location again. I had an appointment for 1pm, waited for 10 min. Then they took me to the pedicure chair and was in the water bath for 30 min before I gave up and walked out. Absolutely ridiculous, if you have no space, don't tell me you do. read more

While I have enjoy my nails being done here, never have I gone somewhere and been charged to have something removed while having something put on. It cost me 60$ to have a no chip manicure because I had to remove acrylic first. Never again will I be returning to a place with outrageous costs. read more

I was really disappointed after scheduling pedicures here. I had called to find out how much a no chip pedicure was and they quoted me $43.00. I brought 3 people with me who had never had a pedicure before hoping this would be a great experience for them. I wasn't impressed by the pedicure and have had better pedicures before. I was ready to pay for all 4 pedicures and they told me it would be $212 vs. what they quoted me $172.They said that they would take an additional $12.00 off but they should have owned up to their mistake and charged me $172.I was really upset and won't go back to a place that stiffs the customer due to their mistake. read more

I work in Oak Brook and my colleague gave me an awesome gift certificate for Christmas, so why not go here and get some cute holiday nails? The place is very nice inside , & very clean like all of the other reviews said. The salon chairs are just like the chairs for the pedicures at the salon I go to where I live...great massages. I would definitely like to make this place a regular place but I don't live close to here and leaving to have "me time" after work is not always convenient since I have a child to go home to, but I will be back. Probably the longest pedi massage ever...I love to get a sugar scrub, but the basic pedi here is only lotion/oil. Jeff did my no chip. He was super talkative and friendly(that's a HUGE plus) and was precise with my no chip. No complaints here. read more

This salon is gorgeous and well kept. I called last minute and they were able to get me in after about a 15 min wait. My nail tech Kayla was so thorough and really took her time to make each nail look perfect. I'm so glad I found this place because my dip manicure looked ANAZING. I was in town for business and chipped diagonally through my nail. I called here last minute at 6 pm to get a full set/dipping powder manicure and Tammy helped me get scheduled and situated right away. Nancy did my manicure and paid lot of attention to detail while I shared pictures on how I want the ombré to look and nail shape etc. It was the same pricing as I pay in Dallas. I had the Oat Milk And Brown Sugar Pedicure: Purifying soak baths to cleanse and soothe the skin. A detox masque to cleanse the skin of impurities, excess oil, and toxins. A gentle exfoliation using our sugar scrub. Callus treatment to smooth rough patches. Steam massage to relax muscles and enhance circulation. Warm towel wrap and paraffin wax treatment will melt away your worries and soothe your tired feet. I highly recommend this one. They scrub my legs with actual oranges and milk. It was really nice! I also really like getting calluses removed and the paraffin wax. My only complaint is I wanted a little bit more done with the callus removal. Next time I will just tell them that. The massage chairs are excellent. Overall, I'm happy with my pedicure and it was a very relaxing experience. I will be back!

I decided to treat myself and my 7 year old cousin to a pedicure and manicure. Upon checkout, the staff informed me that they could only apply the discount to my services and not my cousin's. This was quite disappointing and, in my opinion, a clear indication of poor customer service. Additionally, my pedicure chipped within 3 days. I also noticed a few air bubbles in the polish of my right big toe. Furthermore, I felt that the salon staff wasn't as thorough with the service as they should have been, especially considering the salon was quite empty when I arrived. For my manicure, I requested that my cuticles be cleaned and my nails filed but I didn't want any polish. Despite her assurances that she was done, I had to point out areas that still needed visible cleanup.

I used to go to Pink in Bloomingdale and loved it but I moved. I don't know if all salons do this but Asha has "levels" of stylists. If you get an intern, which I did, a haircut is only $20. And educator is with the intern every step of the and when your hair done, the educator refines is while teaching the intern. My intern was Claire. She was unbelievable. I showed her and the educator some pics I collected and they started talking shop. It was almost a different language. Wow. Even the way she stands, literally, the way Claire was standing makes a difference, I guess with the wrists. Claire explained what she was doing, really friendly, easy to talk to, very enthusiastic, the time flew by. I felt kind of special because I helped her learn a new technique that was relatively complicated. If you can get an intern to do your hair, jump on it. For $20? And an educator is right there, wow. Ok, so much for my first yelp review, or maybe I wrote a review years ago, not sure. Oh, and Asha is an Aveda salon so all the products smell amazing.

Will never return. The first fullset I got was $75, and fill was $40 something. Second set, $75, fill $50 something ( thought it was weird but didnt challenge; first mistake), last set $75, todays initial fill price was $74.... asked for an itemized receipt or explanation because, why would a fill cost as much as a full set? assumed maybe it was because I wanted a couple of swiggly lines ( which I didn't get the tech was limited in that dept) and the broken nail I got while waiting for a delayed appt yesterday which I ended up having to walk out of due to longer wait time. Appt was at 6, was still waiting at 6:38p before I had to go. Spoke with the person who runs shop, Tammy and they said I was charged additional for: - the length of my nails being FILLED ( this is new) - asking for a thicker nail ( nail is not thicker, she still did it how she wanted) - and some inaudible items that have changed depending on the person I speak with -COVID up charges ( that changed on the call as well) and no one wears mask. Its shady, its unprofessional and its borderline disrespectful. read more

I have been coming to magic nails for a few years now, and yesterday was the first time I've had a bad experience. The gentlemen who had done my pedicure was great, but then I got a new gentlemen who did my manicure. He kept complaining how short my nails were, and comparing how my moms longer nails "we're prettier". For the entirety of my manicure he kept repeating how short the length was. I keep them short for my profession and genuinely prefer shorter nails. I'm sure I'm not the only one who does. Not only did he insult the length repeatedly, but he was also extremely rough. At least 4 nails were left bloody by the end of the manicure. My hand massage was by far the worst I've ever gotten, and he couldn't rush me out of their fast enough. Like many other people I come to get a mani/pedi to relax and treat myself. Not to be insulted and leave feeling even more stressed than when I got there. read more

Very nice place. Clean and sanitary. They open new tools for each customer . Great relaxation experience in a weekend. They are all good in what they do.
