Visited on 8/13/22 and brought 3 items home from the cold case for ~$25. I was really excited to try this place after seeing 5 stars and more than 100 reviews. Luckily, it mostly lived up to the hype! The interior is TINY - really only space for one party at a time. Some dry goods, some beverages, some pastries, and then the cold case. We originally went in looking for a cake, but the pastries are more muffin/cookie types. They have maybe 15 different cold salad/dip/appetizer types inside a cold case. After checking them all out, we settled on some grape leaves, beet labne dip, and mediterranean hummus. The first thing we tried were the grape leaves. Amazing taste - ever so slightly lemony, moist without being soggy, and held together by a tangy grape leaf. At $10 for maybe 10 grape leaves, I wasn't super impressed by the value here, but the taste was great. Fortunately, no such value reservations on the other two! The beet cacik was really creamy, with lots of beet flavor and all tied together by the yogurt. The mediterranean hummus definitely tasted like olives, but was the perfect not too smooth but also not chunky texture. Definitely devoured everything from here and would love to go back and try some other new tastes! read more

I genuinely cannot understand how anyone would give Magic Bites 4 or 5 stars. The portions are ridiculously small--literally bite-sized. For $11, you get a tiny container, which is outrageous. You could probably find similar items elsewhere for $4-5, and they'd be 2-3 times larger. The taste is just okay, nothing to write home about. The place itself is dirty, with old, unpleasant decor. The staff is unfriendly unless the owner is around, and even then, she's not exactly the friendliest person. You'd think for the prices they charge, they'd at least try to provide decent service. Expect to spend $50-60 and leave still feeling hungry. This place is an absolute rip-off, and honestly, the owner should be ashamed. I have no idea how they still have customers; it's like they think their patrons are either clueless or have the appetite of a 5-year-old. If I could give 0 stars, I would--this place doesn't even deserve one. read more

Oh my. Prices are crazy. $36 for three frozen meat/cheese pastries. I thought they'd at least be warmed up but no. Had to bake them in the oven at home. The spanakopita here is absolutely amazing! The cheese pagoca is likewise delicious, although it is served cold, but I microwaved it when I got home and it was absolutely delectable. The croissants are good. I'm not a huge fan of the pide, but I've never had pide before so I can't compare. The baklava bites are very good. Was bummed the first time I tried ordering - yelp/grubhub mistakenly confirmed the restaurant was open and it was locked upon arrival. We just got food from here for work lunch- delicious! We each got one of the filled breads. One of my colleagues called it a Turkish pizza. Spinach cheese was melty and awesome, and my colleagues also enjoyed the chicken, leek, and ground beef respectively. I had the lentil soup, which I def. recommend! Their mini baklava (4 bite sized pieces per serving and I ordered 6 of them) didn't disappoint. The pistachio and honey based pastry on delicate filo dough were a tasty balance of sweetness with delicate crispiness. Sometimes pieces of baklava can be too large and difficult to cut without ruining the delicate presentation of the layers of flaky pastry with delicious fillings, but their approach with the bit sized pieces cures that issue. Well done with an innovative approach to satisfy customer preferences. The staff was helpful contacting me to confirm my on-line Yelp/Grubhub order and had my order ready when I arrived, on time. Due to COVID, the bakery is closed to entry, but when you call upon arrival your order is securely and safely brought to you at the door. A wonderful discovery just a 15 minute walk from the Arlington WorkBar. We (husband and I) had the spinach-cheese pastry and the potato pasty, both fantastic. Really flavorful. Iced coffee and a double espresso to wash it down, then a warm double chocolate cookie made our short visit exactly what we needed after a long day. We bought some spicy hummus to take home. "Where can i get the best Turkish food around Boston?" friends ask. My answer is Magic Bites. It is not a restaurant; It's the best take out. Some of their products are also available in local stores. E.g. lucky for us, we live within walking distance of pemberton farms. So I can grab a mezze box or two any day. Magic bites is my go-to for catering. When we have an event, baby-shower, birthday, etc, I call Atilla and Elif. I give them the info. Let's say "15 people; some Turkish, some American; some vegetarian, some not; 5pm dinner" And then I trust them with the menu, a mix of mezzes, pides, and hot dishes. And then I get to hear praises from everybody about my food ordering skills. Including my one year old, who communicates without words. The prices are not cheap for retail products. (What is cheap these days?) But I think the real comparison is to restaurants. And in that comparison, prices are quite reasonable. read more

We had magic bites cater our daughter's first birthday party. I just called them up, told them how many people and that I wanted all vegetarian with gluten free options. They put together an order for me that included two types of pide, lentil fingers, grape leaves and six different spreads with fresh pita. I was able to pick it up early the day of the party. Very disappointed. They call this a cafe? The espresso isn't made by hand or even with an espresso machine, it's a pod similar to keureg or nespresso. And it was almost 4 dollars for the double shot, which is a standard size at every other cafe. Tasted awful, wasn't real espresso. They had signs for "Turkish coffee" everywhere, so was very misleading. The rest of the food was frozen and they just heated it up in an oven. Tasted okay. It was all overpriced and underwhelming. Took a chance based on the ratings, but I am never going back. I try to only write good reviews, but I was so surprised at this cafe and am surprised that they have the reviews they have. Been wanting to stop by this bakery as it's nearby. I picked up a freshly baked, warm, blueberry muffin and iced coffee. Delicious! Friendly owners and inviting little atmosphere. If you need catering, this is the place to go. The food is exceptional - seasoned perfectly and delicious, carefully prepared with attention to detail. It would be impossible to find a better pita. The Ozkefeli family is a joy to work with and professional in every way, with great insight in selection, amounts, etc. for ordering. Came to pick up a delivery order; I waited for 20 minutes to pick up the order-- much longer than I normally would-- and was told I could wait outside and they would tell come get me when it was ready (the order was not ready at the stated time). Waited 23 minutes, went inside... to see the order sitting on the counter. Then the owner told me "press confirm for me" on the app as if I didn't know how to make deliveries, or was going to not confirm it (why? To keep it for myself?). Not even a thank you, or any acknowledgment that I was considerate enough to wait more than can be reasonably expected. Next time there's an offer to deliver from here, I'll pass. read more

I cannot recommend Magic Bites enough. My company did an order for a 30 person reception. When I called, Elif was so helpful in putting an order together. I was not personally familiar with Mediterranean food, but Elif walked me through their options and put together a delicious menu for my team. She was very clear and kind in all of her communication. On the day of delivery, she walked me through each option. All of the dips were labelled with ingredients and every other option was clearly labelled as well. The food was second to none. Let me start off by saying their pitas put other pitas to shame! They were so soft and fresh, I've never had another pita that even comes close to comparison. Their dips were also amazing and come in containers clearly labelled and wrapped to ensure no spills. We also ordered meatballs, a variety of pides, lentil fingers, spanakopita, boreks, dolmas, and other items. Everything was absolutely delicious. I absolutely love this place. The Mediterranean dip is to die for. I always have to get an order for my husband and an order for myself because we can easily eat one to ourselves. We like the pide stuffed with beef and cheese. I like the small baked breads filled with any of the different ingredients. And to top it off the owners are amazing. Today's coffee and breakfast took a walk on the Turkish side. I'm granting five bright and shiny stars to Magic Bites and think it's a great new addition to Arlington's bakery scene. I felt very welcomed by the owner of this fairly new and unique bakery. His friendliness seemed quite genuine and I appreciated how he took the time to introduce me to all their products. I had only stopped in for a cup of coffee, but once I caught sight of the yummy treats in the glass case I couldn't resist a little morning snack. I enjoyed my brief lesson on Turkish cuisine and made a mental note to return soon for their version of one of my all time favorites- the delicious and wonderful spanakopita. Magic Bites features an assortment of Middle Eastern style foods and specializes in homemade side dishes including hummus, muhammara, and eggplant or potato salads. Their inventory of sweets range from pastries, cookies, and cakes, to baklava, croissants, and scones. I tried the Borek today -a tiny pastry wrap made from phyllo dough and filled with cheese. Some of the borek varieties include ground beef as well. I was pleasantly surprised and can't wait to give other menu items a try. The drip coffee was excellent with a bold flavor. Lentil fingers. As a carnivore, I approve the lentil fingers here. Seriously cannot get enough of the Magic Bites Bakery's lentil fingers. Their pita bread is also addictive. I can just eat one plain and still thoroughly enjoy it. The Russian salad is also very nice. So happy this place is around. I wish they stayed open past 6pm, but it's ok. If you have a serious craving of lentil fingers or other dishes they prepare, and it's not 9pm yet, go down Mass Ave to Pemberton's in Cambridge which carries MBB products.
