The Ham n Cheese Croissant, one of the best thing ever!
    Eric B.

Best lil'breakfast treat ever. Ham n cheese croissants and a coffee (Dancing Goat, so different I like it). Love their miniature bake good selection, made up a box as a treat for the office. The baker served me herself, very nice lady, the whole staff is kind. It's a bakery with a few seats, quite utilitarian. I do miss when they hade a little café.

The chocolate croissant was fluffy and crunchy at the same time. They have a wide range of pastries and bread- it was difficult to choose! I love that they have postcards; I picked one up to send to my friend in London. Everything was great.

Mushroom and cheese croissaint - A pastry with a golden, flaky crust and a visible chocolate filling is partially eaten, revealing the soft interior and melted chocolate. The pastry is placed on crinkled aluminum foil, suggesting it has been taken out of its packaging or prepared for eating. The crust appears crisp and layered, typical of a baked pastry or croissant.

High quality baked goods. They offer a variety of savory and sweet croissaints. My favorite savory option is the mushroom and cheese. Super flaky, warm and perfect ratio of mushroom to cheese. They also have scones, breakfast bread, cupcakes, cakes and great coffee. If you are looking to celebrate a special occassion their cakes and cupcakes are incredible! Service is always friendly.

    Cupcakes!

Delicious tasty cupcakes! Gonna be a short and sweet review, much like these cupcakes are little sweet treats ... well not too little - good size for a cupcake and enough to share for two people but I'd love my own next time :) Loved how fresh they taste even though we stopped by at the end of the day. Frosting is my favorite part of the cupcake (I know this is a controversial topic for some, but I gotta get that cream), and it was spot on. Would love to come back again.

Boston crème cake for my friend's divorce party

Love their Boston crème cakes! But you do have to order couple days in advance. They also use plastic sheath to keep the cake together and wish there was a non-plastic alternative for bakers to use.

Cutest shortbread cookies - A bakery display case contains various baked goods, including rainbow sugar cookies shaped like fish and croissants. The cookies are decorated with multicolored sugar, and the croissants are plain and filled. Signs indicate the prices: rainbow cookies are $2.10 each, apricot croissants are $4.21, and cinnamon almond croissants are also $4.21. The display is well-lit, showcasing the assortment of baked items.

While in Arlington, Massachusetts had the chance to stop by my favorite family owned local bakery chain. Best and cutest shortbread cookies with granulated sugar on top. I'm a bit addicted really. We stopped in before the start of a summer road trip, so I grabbed one of their sumptuous savory egg and cheese sandwiches on their heavenly buttery flakey croissants for breakfast. I'm a tea drinker myself or else I would have had their coffee as I've seen the numerous reviews raving about their coffee menu. Their loyal counter staff was the friendliest! The ambiance is lovely with a few stool seats in the arched window to watch the charming hamlet Main Street business district world go by or watch one of the talented bakers at the other street window wielding her craft. I'm thrilled to support this idyllic neighborhood baking company whenever in the Boston suburbs of Arlington, Wellesley, Belmont, and most recently Watertown.

Raspberry shortbread cookie - A raspberry shortbread cookie with a circular shape and a jam-filled center is shown, with a bite taken out of one side. The cookie is placed on white parchment paper, which is on a dark surface. The cookie appears to be handmade with a crumbly texture and a glossy raspberry jam in the middle.

We stopped by here just walking around. The place is very cute and the staff is very nice and helpful. We ordered a chocolate cupcake and a raspberry jam shortbread cookie. The total was about $7. The cookie was delicious--not too sweet and has a nice crunch to it. It seems they make their own coffee which is pretty cool, but we did not order any coffee so I can't comment on it further. The cupcake, however, was a little subpar. It was dense and served very cold. We are waited for it to come to room temperature which helped a little, but it was still quite dense. I would certainly come back and try other things.

A ceramic plate contains three baked goods: a chocolate croissant dusted with powdered sugar, a Danish pastry with a fruit filling in the center, and a pastry topped with almond slices and powdered sugar. Behind the plate, there is a paper bag from Quebrada Baking Co, featuring a purple logo with a robot and bakery name. The setting appears to be a bakery or cafe environment, with a metal container partially visible to the right.

Had the chocolate croissant, almond croissant, and raspberry cookie. All were amazing! The staff helping me was kind and was very patient as folks were deciding what they want. I came pretty early so street parking was a breeze. Note, if you go at opening, some of the pastries may not be ready yet.

Nice pastries and good coffee, although the coffee had a bit of a citrus taste to it.

Croissant had the consistency of a subway bun, espresso so sour it's almost undrinkable.

I got inspired by watching youtube to make a jambon buerre sandwich - supposedly a popular quick sandwich for Parisians. The sandwich is half a baguette with butter and French bistro ham. I tried searching all over for the French bistro ham with no luck. The only options were online sources with expensive shipping and/or expensive minimum order sizes. Somehow I stumbled upon MA-France nearby in Arlington and they sell jambon-buerre sandwiches. It's a small shop that sells sandwiches, pastries, and a small offering of French food products. Lots of pastries and baked goods like quiche, tarts, cookies, croissants, etc. The cheese offerings were very limited and basic. I can imagine that the cheeses that they sell are the same types and brands that they use for making sandwiches. For example, they sell President brand Brie - that you can also buy at Costco and market basket. Disappointing, but understandable because they can't afford to buy more variety and more expensive offerings without a big enough client base to buy those cheeses before they go bad. Getting back to the sandwich - it was half a baguette with some thick slices of butter and two pieces of French bistro ham. The bread was kind of dense and the crust was more chewy than crispy. I was disappointed that they didn't bother to spread the butter, but if they're not selling enough sandwiches then they're probably keeping the butter in the refrigerator - making it too difficult to spread. When I got home I fixed up the sandwich to my liking. Overall, the sandwich was okay, but not good enough to make me want to go back. At least I was able to solve my hunger for the jambon buerre sandwich.

The gateway drug cookie for me was the Mocha Shortbread cookies, which I first found at Pemberton Market in Cambridge, and then noticed for sale lots of places around town. But when I found the mother ship it was all over. It's a good thing I no longer live in Arlington, or I would be in serious trouble. The variety of cookies is remarkable--linzer, tuxedo, florentine, shortbread, ginger, chocolate chip of course, butter cookies dipped in dark or white chocolate, you really need to look at the website to get the full appreciation of the creativity that goes into these cookies. There are always seasonal cookies on offer -- last month Christmas, now heading into Valentine's Day and soon Easter. The cookies are always moist and fresh, and you'd better plan to get there early in the day if you want your pick. I learned this the hard way when I sashayed into the store an hour before closing, mouth watering for my absolute favorite (now), the Toffee Turtle cookie. Those babies were long gone, so I had to "settle" for the next tier of favorites. In fact a few of those were gone as well. That'll teach me.
