My friend swears by these pastries and I'm so glad I gave it try. The croissants are SO GOOD. I had the almond one but I'm sure all of them are wonderful. I also really like that there are savory options- I remember seeing ham & cheese and broccoli & cheese croissants on the menu. I've also tried the blueberry scone before but they were rather unimpressive- I think I'm just not a scone type of gal because the friend loves them just as much as the croissant. This is a very cute local bakery with colorful monkey decor. For many of their pastries, they offer large and small versions which made things much easier for an indecisive person like me. Prices are very reasonable with most everything being under $5 I enjoyed their ham and cheese and broccoli and cheese croissants. They are verrrry buttery and on the soft side but that's what made them yummy and different. I tried several other pastries and I particularly loved their pecan rolls which were just slightly sticky and not overly sweet. Definitely a must try if you're in the area! read more

I like this location of Quebrada even though Belmont is closer. First, they will ice any flavor of MEM tea they have not just what is listed so if you do not like the two they have, definitely ask. We got two petite cupcakes and one petite almond croissant. All were very good. I had been to the location in Wellesley last year on our cupcake quest and I was not impressed. This time was different. I got the coconut and my daughter got the chocolate chocolate -- the cake was moist which was a good sign. They chocolate is more dark chocolate and was a little too much for me but the girl loved it. I love coconut so I was satisfied but I think they could go a little easier on the frosting. This place is great. I came here with a kid who has a peanut allergy and there were many options for him. They do not cross contaminate here as many bakeries do. The cupcakes are really good. They sell mini cupcakes as well! I also tried their key lime cheesecake and I wasn't impressed. It seemed as if it had been out on display for a few days. This place has very few seats so I'd suggest taking the food to go. They also don't have a restroom which is slightly inconvenient when your hands get super messy. Parking is very difficult here, as it is on a Main Street. Overall, I really enjoyed this place! You can also get a bunch of mini cupcakes (and probably other treats) in bulk for parties! I've ordered cakes from Quebrada for several occasions (retirement party, engagement party, birthday) and it's always a hit! Make sure you let the buttercream frosting soften an hour before serving. When I'm not ordering cake for the office, I like their almond croissants (!!!), savory croissants (a tad greasy), scones (blueberry or Parmesan scallion). So good! It's also nice that they have petite sizes for a lot of their pastries. Their iced coffee is alright. You order and they give you the cup, then you fill it up by the wall. I find service to be hit or miss. I've also been overcharged before and I didn't think to check until I was in the car. Overall, albeit a little pricey, definitely a solid place to get cakes and pastries. read more

Super helpful staff! The selection is nice and they are located in neat little areas like Belmont Center and East Arlington. Vegan Friendly - they offer vegan cake, cupcakes etc especially if you order ahead. Meaning, their Wellesley location supplies most of what the other locations get. So for example, the Belmont location may or may not have vegan cupcakes in stock on any given day (they did yesterday). However, with increased interest, they may carry them more regularly. Nonetheless you can order as needed which is what I did for a birthday. They currently only offer vegan chocolate cake but can do frosting in vanilla or chocolate. This gives you a solid local option for vegan cake and it actually tastes really good. the cupcakes are tasty and come in 2 sizes. After reading so many the reviews I knew I had to try some pastries from this place and OMG they are amazing! I ordered two of the almond croissants also another pastry (I forgot the name) and they didn't last the drive home! The bakery is very clean. Such a welcoming environment, all the staff were so friendly in giving helpful suggestions. Pricing is very reasonable. It's a is a cozy, friendly neighborhood bakery. It was my first time there and I bought a double layer cake (chocolate butter cream) for my colleague's birthday; without even asking, the staff asked me whether I need need to put a message on the cake. The cake was moist and delicious, just a bit too sweet for my taste. I only wish they offer more variety on double layer cakes. I was recommended to try the chocolate croissants and chocolate chip muffins. wow I was totally blown away by the generous amount of chocolate inside the croissant; the shell was good but not the best. The most chocolate-filled chocolate croissant I've ever encountered. This may dissuade some folks, who prefer an entire pillow of flaky, buttery and only a sneeze of that sweet, that nasty, that gushy stuff, but not this kid. I relished the copious amounts of cocoa. Cocoapious. Equally as overloaded, the apricot croissant (not a varietal you see very often) is anything but cloying, with a smooth chunkiness of housemade(?) apricot preserves. The one big strike is the iced chai latte - watery, unbalanced and if you get soy milk (75¢ surcharge), nobody knows how to pour it. Seriously. The entire staff came out to inspect KG's rendition, saying "It doesn't look right" and "It's too full" and "Spiders!" Ok, there were no spiders. That we could see. *cue theremin muzak* If you're not one for the sweets, don't pass up the savory bin: a little toasty countertop unit with mushroom and cheese, ham and cheese, cheese and cheese, and other such croissants. Quebrada is one of the few establishments whose coffee I will actually go out of my way to drink. Their "Dancing Goats" blend is by far the best brew in the Boston area. That's right, I said it. Harvard Law School was my first real job out of college. I was a young thang and I had an entry-level position as a Staff Assistant. Well, when graduation rolls around HLS likes to do it up and do it up they do! My sainted boss, named Mo was in charge of ordering the snacks/refreshments for the graduates and their family. They'd come up to visit our office after graduation. Well, after lunch we ordered cookies from Quebrada Baking Company. I got one look at the raspberry linzer and I knew that it was mine. The cookies were going fast. I got my paws on it and took it into my office where it would be all mine and I could eat it in private. Now, I'm not a big cookie gal, I more prefer savory and salty to sweet. But, dear God, this cookie was HEAVEN! I think Angels sang when I took my first bite. HALLELUJAH! HALLELUJAH! HALLELUJAH! Great bakery, and friendly staff, generally. I wanted to try a birthday cake from here, so I called to place the order. They have "standard" cakes, and a "build-a-cake" option. I was hoping for a lemon coconut, which I get every year for the birthday boy. However, they make lemon cakes (without coconut) and a chocolate coconut cake (obviously, with coconut). I asked if they could make a lemon coconut. Not only did they say it sounded "unappealing," they informed me the coconut would be considered a 2nd filling (in addition to the lemon), which is outside the bounds of build-a-cake one-filling rule. They repeated they have a chocolate coconut cake, not that that was helpful. I asked if they could just put coconut on top of the lemon cake. The answer; "No." Shame I'll never get to look at the bakery with the same fondness after experiencing what goes on under the hood. Delicious and rich iced coffee, refreshing this hot Tuesday afternoon. The wax paper bag placed into my hand seems certain to contain two cement blocks of blueberry crumb cake and two barbells of strawberry bananna nut muffins. No low fat here, these weighty morsels are packed with fruit and grainy wholesomeness. Breaking off a piece of the strawberry bananna muffin yields robin red strawberrys and whole chunks of bananna. These muffins are moist yet only slightly crumbly with nice carmelization on the top and bottom. The blueberry crumb cake is coffee cake to be exact. Maybe I didn't get the right thing? I was definitely underwhelmed at Quebrada. We got two cupcakes, a carrot and a coconut, and split them. The carrot was OK but the coconut didn't really have much of a flavor. The cakes were dense and sort of staleish. I also got three cookies to take home: chocolate chip, double ginger and a walnut chocolate brownie something. The cookies were soft, which was good, but almost seemed undercooked in the middle. Breakfast sandwich to the rescue! On Mass Av and heading towards Cambridge? Pull over! You can usually find a spot within the block before the Capitol cinema. You'll be back in 5 minutes or less, if you can control yourself. Walk past the tempting bakery case and over to the display warmer. They made the croissant wrapped goodies this morning, they're fresh! They are conveniently shaped for eating one-handed while you drive...uhh.....I mean..... if you're carrying something in your other hand. If you dawdled this morning picking out your socks, you have to pray there's still a Ham & Cheese left. No worries, the veggie savory is also fantastic - I only remember the Spinach & Cheese at the moment, maybe Broccoli & Cheese which I love, but I understand it's not everyone's breakfast choice. I've also grabbed 2 in the morning and saved one for lunch. If it's your first time, do yourself a favor and get some type of croissant item. This may be their strong suit. I heard they have the BEST chocolate croissants anywhere. I enjoy the minis - less guilt. I only had the coffee once - could be too strong for me. I'll try again some day. read more

I started my day with a cinnamon roll from Quebrada. Wow. Delicious. I heated it up and it came to life, it tasted like it was drizzled in butter even though I did not add any. So I got a few mini-cupcakes to try after lunch. They were hard from being in the refridgerated case so I let them sit for a bit to soften up. The carrot cake was my favorite. The cream cheese icing was perfect. The cake part was rich with raisins. Not greasy, just an all around good balance. I noticed they have small sheet cakes of carrot and others for $13. The vanilla/vanilla was good. The cake was moist and tasty, however the frosting could of been better. It had a shortening consistency. The chocolate/chocolate was good. Not too sweet. The frosting was piped and had a ganache shine. Cake was moist. Both cupcakes had hershey's kisses on top! The bakery is small. They have a good selection of random stuff. Mini cupcakes were $1.50. I've loved this place for years, and always stop in for a coffee and treat when I'm back on the east coast. It gives me kind of a warm feeling - since my mom and I would always go here before a movie at the Capitol. She's still alive - we just don't talk. But movies and food are can always be counted among happy times. The coffee is lovely, and everything I've ever tried here is great. I live right above these guys and roughly 1/4th of my income have gone to this coffee shop over the past year which probably has contributed to my 30 lbs weight gain in 2015. Crap. The good: Their coffee is superb. I order their iced mocha latte which I tots love. Their croissants are baked in house and are perf. Their staff seems To have quite a bit of turnover but I think I like all of them Living above a coffee shop also has perks of my clothes always smelling like baked goods. Thank you The not as good: Having been their 300 times, I'd think I'd know the routine of where to order...where to pay. Mind bogglingly I don't. It's never clear where to stand to place your order or where or when to pay. They verbally pass orders to staff so I'm often asked and re-asked my order a few times. There's always confusion during their peak hours If they wrote down orders on the cup...and had one cash register and or a sign with "order here" they would help themselves and improve the experience...or at least my experience... Love Love Love this bakery. This place is like 2 blocks from my office and I go there atleast few times a week. Their goods are as fresh as they can get. Over my 2 years of frequenting this place, just once I felt that the cookies were not fresh--not a bad ratio ! My all time favs are choco chip cookies . My husband can eat their Chocolate dipped Macaroons and Chocolate croissants everyday !! However I think they only make macaroons a couple of months every year. I so wish they would make these permanent on the menu. Their coffee be it hot or iced is just so good specially their hazelnut flavored one. Oh, it's probably a good thing I no longer live across the street. Chocolate birthday cake, bought for my husband's birthday, but decorated for a 5-yr old. Hilarious AND delicious. The layer of raspberry really kicked it up a notch, though the actual children at the party did not approve. A secretly simple, but sophisticated cake. Almond croissants that I share with my toddler. Flaky, nutty, buttery. We could eat them every day. Carrot cake cupcakes. Moist, crumbly and carroty in that way that distinguishes excellent carrot cake from plain old spice cake with flecks of carrot in it. The requisite not-too-sweet cream cheese frosting. I had some other, less memorable cupcakes, and there are nice variations in size and flavor for the croissants. I am entirely sure you will find something to die for - classics, kids' stuff, sweets for grown-ups, challah. And I never sunk my teeth into anything that wasn't absolutely fresh. The coffee's good too, but you're better off just thinking of this place as a bakery since there's no real seating, and little in the way of coffee house savories. Oh, and no real bread or baguettes. So far, I've tried: *Ham & Cheese croissant - cheesey and delicious, but a little messy, grab some napkins. *Apple croissant - yummy! Coffee is good when it is fresh here as well as the baked goods. The cookies are probably the beat item here. I am not sure but I don't know if the dough is made fresh foe the bread or if it is frozen but the bread I has was pretty good. It was rumored that panera uses frozen dough then defrost and bake in their stores but not sure if that I'd true or not. Either way the bread is flavorful and dense and my family enjoys that. read more

Awesome treats, and the people who work here are great. I've come in here many times with my toddler daughter, and it's always wonderful for us both. We've tried cupcakes (including vegan cupcakes), cookies, little pies, fruit tarts, lemon tarts and much more -- all delicious. The lemon tarts are probably the best I've ever had. The lemon filling is delicious and zesty, and they let the delicious lemon flavor really shine by not making it sweeter than it has to be. The fruit tarts are also particularly good. I went in one time and ordered two mini fruit tarts, meanwhile telling the woman who was getting them for me how much I just loooove them. Well, because the fruit tarts were on the soft side, she ended up giving me the last few ones from that batch in order to get rid of them... in my stomach! Also, they sometimes give away free samples of entire small cupcakes. Entire cupcakes! The one issue I have here is that the icing on some of their cupcakes is too sticky and almost tacky at times. read more

Absolutely excellent pastries. Their chocolate croissant is *better* than any I had the year I lived in France. What I really wish is that this place would expand and get some decent seating. And a restroom. I would love nothing more than to be able to meet friends here and chat over a perfect pastry and coffee. Arlington is SORELY lacking an upscale cafe with high-end pastries and desserts (maybe some soups or sandwiches as well). That's my biggest beef living here. There's Panera, which I'm SO sick of, and then there's no comparable local place for a lovely little not-just-Sunday breakfast, lunch, or treat. Yes, there's "Jam n Java." Okay, but that's not upscale. I'm talking cute and more truly gourmet. The pastries here are up to par with fancier places. I just grabbed some dessert here after a ridiculously tasty lunch at Little Q Hot Pot half a block away. What an AWESOME bakery. It's extremely cool looking from the outside...very funky and unique. When I walked in I was instantly hit in the face with the aroma of really good coffee--fresh and roasty. Immediately after the smell of roasty goodness I was hit with a sweet, buttercreamy, aroma. Think it was the whoopie pies or the cupcakes, not sure. I grabbed a loaf of what look like the tastiest as-good-as-mom-makes banana bread...but just as I was about to hit the register a tray of fresh-from-the-oven chocolate chip cookies was placed on the counter beside me. Bingo. 8 Large and incredible chocolate chip cookies ran $9. What a bahgan. Between the (possibly best) chocolate chip cookie and an awesome cup of iced coffee, I have been hooked.
