It is a must to have reservations on Easter at Mary Cody's Restaurant and Maggie's Lounge as space is limited and the restaurant is popular. The staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. Our waitress on my request recommended her favorite mimosa sine they offered three different flavors. The price of the Easter buffet was reasonable ($23) considering the quality and wide selection. There was everything from scrambled eggs and potatoes to iced shrimp to fruit to dessert read more

Finally, good food! I am big into brunch and after multiple disappointments elsewhere in town, this place really hit the spot. The staff was friendly and extremely attentive. I ordered the breakfast sandwich with sausage, egg, and cheddar cheese, on a biscuit with loaded hash browns and was impressed. The biscuit was browned on the outside but so light and fluffy when I bit into it. The cheddar cheese was good, thick-cut cheddar that was stringy and the sausage was nothing to scoff at, it was a big cut of meat and really flavorful. You can't go wrong with the loaded hash either. It was crispy and topped with that same thick cut cheddar and had fresh veggies on it that were crisp and clearly not frozen. Oh, and they serve mimosas! This place gets an A ++ from me. read more

Maggie's On Main - The breakfast sandwich with sausage, on a biscuit and a side of the loaded hash. - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Onalaska, Wisconsin

I hate to do this -- a one star. Maggie's hours of operation in their window indicate it's open at 7:00 am. It isn't and wasn't. Very disappointing. And a pet peeve of mine. I can understand opening 10 or 15 minutes late, but 90 minutes late and still showing no signs of life? Not good. I like off-the-beaten-path places like this and hope to try again next time I'm in the area and bump them up a few stars to what they probably deserve. In the meantime, I hope they update their hours of operation to reflect reality. read more

My family enjoys coming here for brunch on Sundays after church. The breakfast is always hot and delicious. Last Sunday I ordered their special, a skillet with ham, pesto, parmesan, and potatoes. It was very good. My children love the mickey mouse pancakes. My only slight complaint is the service. Some days the waitstaff is friendly and quick and others it seems to take forever to get the check. (pretty typical on Sunday) Nothing magical, yet it's one of the few restaurants that serve a good breakfast in Onalaska. read more

Previous reviews right on- decent food- but our server ruin the visit. Arrived after breakfast cut off, restaurant 80% empty and said "it's after the cut off and I'm not about to ask them to make you breakfast". Then place out lunch order, asking for -minus onions on sandwich + cheese and get a sigh... As we didn't know the menu and asking questions - old bird got frustrated - scratched out order and said - snappy "ok, let's start again"... Piece of work- shouldn't have tipped. read more

Horrible service, absolutely horrific. They do not seem to care any about customer service. Food was average. Go ahead and stop in if you are ready to get your own condiments and refill your own drink. And use a restroom before you get there. read more

The food was good, however the portion sizes are very small for how much you pay. Our mussels appetizer was good but tiny. I had the tenderloin sandwich, which was juicy and flavorful, but $16.00 for a small piece of meat on a slice of white bread with less than 4 oz of coleslaw is a little much. My wife's port wine burger was done exactly medium rare as she ordered, though I didn't really taste the port wine sauce. The service was very slow. The only thing that was quick was the check. read more

Tried Maggie's for breakfast in search of a good breakfast joint alternative. I got pancakes with a side of sausage and eggs. The pancakes were pretty dry and crumbled under the weight of the fork. It required syrup just to keep enough on the fork to get a decent bite worth. The eggs were edible, but looked as though they had been fried on a grill that had not been cleaned recently. The sausage was good! The other person at my table had a scramble that was heavy on the cheese, overpowering the other flavors on the plate. Again, edible but not a do-over for her either. I'm uncertain if the lunch and dinner experience would be different, but will likely not go out of my way to give it another try. read more

This place deserves more than the stars it has currently. The food is standard american diner fare with a bar and dining room. I went with 2 others and our food was just fine. The service was a little on the thin side, but everyone was nice. A middle of the road place in most every way; it's certainly not a one star place. Give it a try if yer hungry or thirsty. read more

Best breakfast I've had in a long time and great service very fast food and fast refills

One of the best breakfasts I've ever had, and I travel all over the upper Midwest every week. The only suggestion I might make is that the maple syrup should be slightly warmed ... It's a real buzz kill to have cold syrup on warm pancakes. read more

Went to Maggie's for Easter brunch. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff and great food. Price was reasonable too. I'd definitely come back!

I was really impressed with this place. Everyone in my group loved their food. I had the breakfast burrito and it tasted fresh with a good kick. The house made Bloody Marys were also a hit. The server was friendly and helpful, but our food did seem to take an awfully long time to get to us. Other than that, I would definitely recommend the place. read more

Went to Maggie's for a late dinner. I ordered the Pasta Caprese, which would have been more appropriately named Bowl-O-Pasta. It was supposed to be served with Parmesan cheese with roasted garlic, basil and roasted tomatoes with onions. There were onions and some tomatoes (from a can) on top. My side dish of veggies was vegetable medley (carrot, broccoli, cauliflower) that was still frozen. Also at the table a serving of the Southwest Grilled Chicken was had. The Chicken was a small portion. It's texture was rubbery and dry. The chicken had little flavor and was overwhelmed by the canned corn that was added on top as part of the corn pepper relish. The dish was also served with the vegetable medley. (these veggies were also still frozen.) The meals were very over priced for the quality that was served. $13 and $14. The quality wholesomeness was not on par with the commanded price. On previous visits the food was much better. Was this an "Off Night"? I don't know, but I'm not ready to chance a sub-par meal at Maggie's any time soon. read more

Not impressed. The waitress was more interested in talking to a male customer than waiting on tables. I had their basic breakfast. Eggs, toast, bacon and hash browns. I ordered the eggs poached. They were floating in water. I ordered the bacon extra crisp, didn't happen. The hah browns were almost cooked but the toast was cooked and extra crisp. For as long as it took to get the food you would have thought it would be hot, it was lukewarm at best. My sister had pancakes, she said they were good. I had to beg the waitress for a coffee refill. Not my best breakfast. read more

Prices high. Service very poor. Food good. I eat here once a month for lunch. Went there today. Bad service and food was poor. Will give it one more try. read more

Had the mother's day brunch. One thing was better than the next. Hard to pick a favorite. All good.

I recently ate at Maggie's and the food was not that great and the service was extremely slow. I won't be going back

First-time customer. Waitress was excellent - one of the best I've experienced anywhere in some time. Ordered a Classic Burger medium/well & fries. Fries were great, burger was grilled medium/rare (pink center). Maybe just an off day for the cook? I'll try them again for breakfast, just based on the service I received. read more

Once we ordered, we waited for about an hour and 15 minutes to get our breakfast. Our table was only a party of 4 with a baby. Numerous other empty tables In the restaurant at time of order. Our server even had enough time to eat her own breakfast. I know that because I saw her carry the plate of food to the server station, then come out about 10 min later with an empty plate licking her fingers. Once we got the food, every plate other than the pancakes had grease pooling up. Nothing like getting soggy hash browns. My son had scrambled eggs with cheese and green peppers. My wife had to literally wipe off the grease from the eggs. It was bad. Probably never go back. read more

Since one of Maggies owners owns Traditions Restuarant I assumed the food would be better than it is. I've eaten at Maggies a total of 5 times hoping that it will get better; but it doesn't. The sign saying the best breakfast in town is an outright fabrication. read more

The atmoshpere of this place alone could get it 3 or 4 stars. The employees are great and very flexible. They do all they can to satisfy the customer. Fun place to go! Oh and great breakfast! read more

3 strikes and Maggie's is out for me. The service is just ok. Kinda slow. Food is fair. I don't know how a BBQ Pork sandwich can be dry - but it was. read more

So sad to see that with a new menu comes higher prices, and much smaller portions. In addition, the continuing issue with slow service and understaffing means that we may no longer continue to frequent one of the only non-chain restaurants in Onalaska .Maggie's (Now "Mary Cody's Restaurant") by far had the best food in town, but there are too many other issues now to make that worth it. I understand why some changes were made after Traditions closed, but it was embarrassing to bring out-of-town family here. We waited over 40 minutes just to have our dinner order taken, and our food took another 45 minutes. Our server was doing her best to keep up, but there were only two servers for the whole place. The bartender was having to run over and bus tables. This has happened to us so often (at breakfast, lunch, and dinner.. whether busy or not sometimes) that we're afraid to bring anyone here anymore. We have been frequenting this place often for over a year and sadly, I think you may have lost some of your most valued customers. read more
